Chapter 03

My eyes are burning as I watch Ezra put his arms around Leah’s shoulder as they walk in front of me. I want to just shove them away from each other but instead I sigh and just look around my surroundings.

We’re at the mall right now as I asked Ezra to come with me but instead here I am following them as they bump into each other and I can’t do anything about it because Leah invited herself and now they’re dating and here I am being their third wheel.

It’s like I magically disappear from Ezra’s eyes and I doubt he will notice when I actually leave and I can do that right now but for some reason I stayed around… hurting myself because of my own decision.

Leah is beautiful and sweet with Ezra and I can see why he’s head over heel to her but what I don’t understand is how can she pull that off when truthfully she’s a bitch and she’s a bully. I’ve heard a lot of stories of her even before we’ve actually met her and I told him about it but he just wouldn’t listen… he just told me that it doesn't matter because he loves her… just that easy, he doesn't know what love is and I hope he will realize that sooner or later before they get married which is like years from now… I think his parents agreed to marry him off once we’ve graduated college and that he’s capable to handle the business… and same goes for me too.

“Kate?”

I snapped back from reality when someone suddenly called my attention and my eyes widen upon seeing Harvey. He smiled sweetly. “What are you doing here? And why do you look sad?” I pouted, I didn’t realize that it shows.

“I’m with Ezra.” I replied in a whisper as I look at Ezra’s back… as they continue to walk leaving me behind… I was right they wouldn’t realize that I will be gone.

“Doesn’t look like it.” He said that made me glare at him. “He seems to be busy with someone else.”

“I can see that.” I pout.

“Can you? Then why are you following them like a bodyguard? You’re more than that, Kate.” I can’t look at him now.

“Kate!” I heard Ezra’s voice that made me look up and saw him running back to us while Leah is left behind looking at Ezra with creased brows.

“I was just talking to Harvey.”

“We should go.” He said and hold my hand that made me look at him and gulp, in times like this I kind of think that he has feelings for me but I know that would be impossible because just a few moments ago he was preoccupied with Leah.

“I think Kate wants to spend her time with me. She seems bored when I found her earlier, right Kate?” Harvey raised his brows at me while looking through my eyes like he’s hypnotizing me into saying yes.

“Kate?” Ezra looks at me.

I sigh and nodded at him. “You and Leah should go one with your date, I’ll stroll around with Harvey.”

“Or we can come with them, I hope you wouldn’t mind a company?” Harvey suggested that made me want to smack him right now… Ezra on the other hand looked at us seriously as he sigh and nod.

Harvey smirked at me that made me want to roll my eyes at him but the truth is, I’m really thankful for him and his company because I would've still followed them until they’re done with their date.

“Thank you.” I mouthed to him that made him smile and I notice Ezra glaring at us while Harvey pulled my hands to hold it as we walk.

It was actually really fun despite the tension between the guys and the annoying voice of Leah trying to get Ezra’s attention we are playing in the arcade. Harvey made me feel included and he would always tease me that makes me laugh and despite Ezra’s presence I actually forgot about my sadness earlier and I’m just having fun.

“We should eat, I’m hungry.” I said that all agreed to.

We ate a little snack in the mall and we’re all silent as we eat and Leah is pulling her chair so she could get close to Ezra skin to skin that made me look away, Harvey immediately noticed that and smirk at me. He lean closer and whispered. “Don’t show that you’re jealous, she’s making it worse seeing that you’re showing that you’re jealous.” My eyes widen to what he said and I don’t what to say but instead I just pout at him with a little nod on the head and when I went back to look at the two, I notice Leah is whispering something to Ezra but Ezra is looking at me with his brows creased that made me bite my lips… I felt butterflies on my stomach… he’s making me think that he’s also jealous.

When it was time to go home Harvey and I part ways and we dropped Leah to her house and now that it’s just me and Ezra, the car is silent and I don’t know why I feel uneasy about it.

“Are you and Harvey dating now?” He suddenly asked when we were near our house.

“What? No, we’re just friends.”

“Doesn’t look like it earlier.” He siad coldly. “You should watch, he’s a playboy and he’s just trying to flatter you to get what he wants… but once he will, he will leave you.” I want to say so many things to him right now but I stopped myself.

“Thanks for the concern but I can take care of myself plus, it’s not like I’m going to marry him, I’m still young and my parents still haven’t found someone who I will marry so I think I’m going to enjoy this while I can.” He glared at me.

It didn’t took long for us to arrive home, he immediately open the door and before going out he looks back at me. “Don’t run to me when he hurts you.”
