Five days later.

During the five days in the hospital, I just slept, ate, and slept. The doctor said it was because of my medications, which made me tired.

I admit I'm nervous, today is the day I'm going to meet them at their house, where I'm going to stay... I can't say when, I still have to ask them.

For five days, the two of them were always with me as soon as I woke up, and Hailey fed me because I couldn't eat with one hand.

My hands shook every time I picked up the spoon, so she happily started feeding me.

But I still had my worries, my insecurities about my father, and Dominic told me that he had reported the crime to the police and now we just had to wait for them to go after him.

When Hailey comes home to shower and change clothes, he stays with me, and even though we don't talk much, he holds my hand and makes me relax.

Holding hands, we walked out of the room, and I stood very close to her. The looks in the hallway bothered me, I knew everyone knew Dominic was the most famous CEO in America, so it must be weird for them to see him here with two women.

''Where is Dominic? ''I ask because I still need to meet him.

''He went to sign your discharge form. ''

They spent so much money on me, I'm sure the drugs must be expensive.

''Hey. '' She stopped me and asked me to look at her. ''Don't overthink, we do it because we want to. ''

''We don't care about that, McGrady. ''I looked forward and saw Dominic walking towards us.

We were leaving the hospital, and I saw a tall man standing beside a car.

He was much taller than Dominic, must have been two meters tall, his skin was dark, I couldn't see his eyes because he was wearing sunglasses, he was bald, his shoulders were broad and he was very muscular.

Maybe I was looking at him so much that I felt like Hailey was shaking my hand a little too hard, causing me to look away from the man and towards her.

''What's wrong? '' I asked confused.

She smiled.

'' there is nothing. ''I thought it was weird, but I didn't say anything.

''Maddie, this is Charles. '' Dominic pointed at the tall man in the suit. ''He was my driver and personal security guard. ''

The man nodded at me, and I did the same.

''let's go. '' Charles opened the back door for us.

After Hailey got in the car, I sat next to her, and then Dominic came up and sat next to me, and I was between them. Their perfume smells so good, it's not that strong of a perfume, I can't explain it, I love it.

"I forgot to tell you, Maddie." I turned to him. "This dress suits you perfectly."

I felt my face heat up at his compliment. I felt my face lifted up, and he was so close to me that I could feel his warm breath.

I couldn't answer because his face was too close to mine, and I didn't know where to look. His lips, his eyes, his cheeks, I didn't know where to look. He smiled slightly and let me go so I could catch my breath.

I'm still not used to being praised like this.

"Thank you..." I stared at my hands, embarrassed.

Why do these two people always like to praise me? The worst part is that they are not shy to speak their mind, which embarrasses me. I'm not used to compliments because men always scolded me when I was a kid, so receiving compliments is new to me.

''I said the same thing in the ward. '' Hayley's words brought me out of my thoughts, and she took my hands and tangled them together.

''Honey, how do you feel about all this? '' I looked at her and sighed.

''I'm still scared, Hailey. Throughout my childhood I was always threatened, he was always playing mind games with me, and now here I am, isolated from everything. ''

''Don't talk like that about yourself. '' She put her hand on my cheek and caressed it. '

'Of course you have traumas, fears and insecurities, but we are here. This man will pay for what he did to you, and we will ensure he gets a life sentence. ''

I closed my eyes and looked at the caress on my cheek, her palms were so warm.

''I never had anyone around me in my childhood, I never had help or anything. So I'm sorry if I'm annoying sometimes. '' I opened my eyes and looked at her.

''Don't worry, you will never bother us; we love caring for you. '' She tucked a lock of my hair behind her ear.

I approached her with some trepidation and hugged her. She quickly returned the hug. I rested my chin on her shoulder and smelled her soapy scent.

''Thanks. Thank you for not giving up on me. '' I got goosebumps when she kissed my bare shoulder.

''I'm glad I didn't give up. ''

I rubbed my eyes and felt very tired. I took the last medicine in the hospital very early. It must have been seven hours and already started to take effect. I'm taking an appetite suppressant, another anti-inflammatory, and a painkiller because I still have some pain.

She pulled me and rested my head on her shoulder. ''You always need a break. ''

I didn't ask any questions and happily accepted her shoulder as a pillow. I crossed my arms and closed my eyes, feeling sleep approaching.

I didn't hear anything else.
