CHAPTER 3 Betrayal

LEAH'S POV

He turned to me and planted a passionate kiss on my lips. I had never been kissed before, so everything felt so new and exhilarating. I responded eagerly, and soon we were both lost in the heat of the moment.

But then, he pulled away and stared at me with hunger in his eyes. "I want you, Leah, so damn badly," he whispered huskily.

"I want you too, Aiden," I said breathlessly.

"Not as much as I want you. Let's seal our mate bond tonight," he said, his voice filled with urgency.

"Wait, like right now?" I asked, feeling a mix of excitement and hesitation.

"Yeah, unless you don't want to," he replied, his eyes searching for any sign of doubt.

"I do... it's just... aren't we taking things too fast?" I asked, trying to voice my concerns.

"No, we're not. We're freaking mates, baby! That means we're fated to be together forever. There's nothing to be scared of," he reassured me, his confidence unwavering.

My heart raced, torn between my desires and a lingering sense of caution. "But... what about protection?" I asked, trying to consider the potential consequences.

"Protection? Come on, babe, we don't need that. We're mates, remember?" he said with a cheeky grin.

"But what if I get pregnant?" I asked, my worry surfacing.

"Then I'll become a damn father, and you'll be a mother! And you know what? It'd be freaking cool," he said, his excitement evident.

"But... I've never done this before, so I'm a bit nervous," I admitted, my voice tinged with uncertainty.

"Don't worry, babe. I'll be as gentle as I can," he assured me, trying to ease my fears.

"Okay... let's do it," I agreed, letting my desires cloud my judgment.

"Alright, that's my girl," he said with a hint of a smirk...

What the hell was I thinking?

I should've had my head screwed on straight, but nope, here I am – pregnant and left to deal with this mess all by myself. Talk about a major screw-up.

I should've known better than to trust him blindly. Falling for his smooth talk and false promises was a damn rookie mistake, and I'm paying the price for it now.

"I'm such an idiot," I muttered to myself. "I was so blind to the truth. Aiden wasn't the prince charming I thought he was.

He was just using me, like so many others before me. How could I have been so naive?

I shook my head in frustration, trying to make sense of what had happened.

How could I have been so stupid? I groaned, burying my face in my hands.

I berated myself, replaying the events over and over in my head. I couldn't stop thinking about how easily I had been duped.

I thought I had found true love, but it turned out to be nothing more than a lie. I felt so foolish, so ashamed. How could I have been so blind?

I remember the day like it was yesterday. I wanted to tell him about the news of my pregnancy after all he had told me that if I get pregnant then he would accept it and become a father to the child. What a big lie.

I went over to Aiden's apartment to celebrate his birthday with him and to reveal that I was pregnant.

I stood outside at his apartment as I took a deep breath, trying to calm my nerves. My heart fluttered with a mix of excitement and anxiety.

Lately, I'd been experiencing inexplicable pain, which worried me deeply. I had gone to a doctor after class one day to see a doctor to ease my concerns.

"Doctor, I've been having these pains in my abdomen, and I just found out I'm pregnant," I explained, my voice tinged with worry.

The doctor listened attentively, then smiled reassuringly.

"Don't worry, Leah. Some discomfort during early pregnancy is completely normal.

Your check-up results are all fine, and it's common to experience mild cramps and pains as your body adjusts."

While the doctor's words brought some relief, I couldn't help but feel a lingering sense of worry.

"Are you sure everything is okay? I want to make sure the baby is safe," I asked, seeking reassurance.

The doctor placed a comforting hand on my shoulder.

"Yes, Leah, as of now, everything looks good. If you experience any severe pain or bleeding, please reach out to us immediately. But for now, try to take it easy and get plenty of rest."

With a sense of relief and determination, I left the clinic, determined to go ahead with my surprise for Aiden.

As I stepped into Aiden's apartment, determination and excitement mingled with the lingering physical discomfort I was enduring.

The doctor reassured me that both my baby and I were healthy, but my heart still raced with nervous anticipation as I prepared to share our joyous news on his birthday.

But as I approached the closed bedroom door, a strange sound caught my attention—a soft moaning coming from inside.

My heart skipped a beat, and a sense of unease washed over me. What could be happening?

Trembling, I cracked open the door just slightly, and what I saw shattered my world. There, in the apartment, was Caroline—Aiden's suppose ex-girlfriend—and Aiden himself, on top of her.

My breath caught in my throat, and tears welled up in my eyes as I quickly shut the door, unable to bear what I had just witnessed.

The pain in my heart matched the discomfort in my body, and I felt a whirlwind of emotions—betrayal, hurt, and disbelief.

I wanted to believe it was a misunderstanding, but the sight before me left little room for doubt. My mind raced, trying to process the painful truth.

The pain and shock washed over me in waves as I stumbled back, my heart feeling as though it had been ripped apart. I sprawled at the doorway, my mind reeling from the devastating sight I had just witnessed.

Aiden, drawn by the commotion, appeared in the doorway, his face pale and his eyes widening in surprise at the sight of me.

He moved as if to help me up, but something in Caroline's gaze made him hesitate. He retreated his hand, feigning indifference as he coldly asked,

"Leah, what are you doing here?"
