Chapter 4 Estranged from Family and Love

"Cassie, you're finally back. I was really worried about what happened yesterday." Olivia looked guilty. "But Arthur really doesn't like you, and you can't force feelings."

Cassie's eyes turned cold. "Enough, there's no one else here; quit your act. I underestimated you before."

"Don't be like this." Olivia bit her lip, tears falling. "From now on, I'll give in to whatever you want. I won't interfere with the company anymore; here, take these documents."

She stuffed the documents into Cassie's hands without any other words.

Confused, Cassie subconsciously pushed them away, causing the papers to scatter on the floor.

"What are you all doing?" Suddenly, Helen walked up from downstairs and saw Olivia in tears and the scattered documents on the floor.

She added, "Aren't these the company documents your dad asked you to look at?"

"Mom, don't be mad at her; it's all my fault," Olivia quickly explained with a pale face, "Cassie told me not to get involved in company matters, and I wanted to give her these documents, but she's probably still upset because of Arthur."

"You're talking nonsense!" Cassie couldn't stand Olivia twisting the truth and quickly interrupted.

"Shut up." Helen glared at Cassie angrily. "Who give you right to arrange company matters? These documents were meant for Olivia by your dad and me. Next week, She will officially join the company as a manager. You'd better behave."

Cassie was taken aback. "I have a higher education and more experience than her. I wasn't even a manager in the company for a year before. Why does she get to be a manager?"

"Mom, I don't want to be a manager anymore. Don't let it affect my relationship with Cassie," Olivia quickly choked out.

Helen hugged Olivia lovingly. "See? Olivia cherishes this sisterly bond, while you are narrow-minded and petty. No wonder Arthur chose Olivia."

Narrow-minded and petty? That’s what Helen thought she was? Her words maked Cassie really sad.

How could Helen be so biased?

Cassie grew up by Helen's side since she was a child. Didn't Helen know what kind of person she was?

From yesterday until now, no one comforted her. It seemed like everything was taken for granted.

An anger she had never felt before surged up within Cassie. She took two steps back. "Fine, I suck, then can I leave?"

Then, she went back to her room to pack her clothes haphazardly into a suitcase.

Olivia's voice came from the doorway. "Mom, Cassie is upset. Let's talk to her."

Helen replied, "Let her alone. That's just how she is. She's been spoiled. She'll come back on her own in a few days. Come on, you're getting engaged. Let’s buy some new clothes for you."

The voices gradually faded away.

Tears fell heavily on the back of her hand as Cassie drove away with her suitcase.

At that moment, she felt like she had lost everything. Family and love had both drifted away from her.

She hadn't done anything wrong, but why was everyone treating her like this?

She gripped the steering wheel tightly, a strong sense of resentment flashing in her eyes.
