Chapter 2 Agonizing Pain

"Master Harold!"

Seeing the newcomer, Florence eagerly greeted him.

The talented young men all showed expressions of respect.

His name is Tom, the junior director of Riverdale Harolds Group, with a market value of 300 billion. His company’s market value is worth more than the sum of all of the other guys companies’ market value.

But when George saw this person, he immediately rushed forward, his eyes turned red, grabbing his clothes, and roared, "You beast! Lily is your sister-in-law, and yet you dare to cast your eyes on her? Are you even human?"

It turns out that this Tom is George's cousin, the son of his uncle Nate.

However, George resented the father and son to the bone.

Last October, after his parents had a car accident, Nate came forward and falsely accused Samuel Harold of corruption and treason, seizing the Harolds Group that his parents had built from scratch. He also kicked their entire family out of the Harold family.

If it weren’t for what his uncle Nate had done, George would not have fallen to this pitiful state.

Tom looked at George with disdain and said, "What sister-in-law? You were already expelled from the Harold family by Grandfather long ago. How can Lily be considered my sister-in-law? Besides, you and Lily have no real relationship. You are simply unworthy of her."

Florence pulled George away and even kicked him.

Then she turned around and put on a smile, saying to Tom, "Master Harold, what brings you here?"

Tom smiled and said, "Auntie, today is your birthday, so I came to wish you a happy birthday. This is a hundred-year-old ginseng that cost me three million. Please accept it, Auntie."

Upon hearing that it was a three-million-dollar per stem hundred-year-old ginseng, Florence immediately took it with a wide smile on her face.

Tom then looked towards the stunning Lily.

His eyes were full of admiration for her.

It carried the longing of a man.

He had long coveted this woman.

In a soft voice, he said to Lily, "Lily, I heard about your situation. Coincidentally, my father and Fonda group's high-ranking officials can help you.

We have become quite familiar with each other, and I can help resolve this matter. When the time comes, I will give you a grand wedding! Lily, I genuinely love you from the moment I laid eyes on you. At that time, the entire Harolds group will be yours."

Lily shook her head, "I will not divorce George."

Florence, however, was extremely excited. Upon hearing that the entire Harolds group would belong to her daughter, she turned green with envy. She grabbed Lily forcefully and said, "Are you crazy? Master Harold will be such a good husband, yet you insist on hanging yourself on that useless person?"

She then turned to Tom and smiled, "Very well, Master Harold. You love my daughter deeply. That's excellent. From now on, you will be my son-in-law."

Tom was satisfied with Florence's reaction.

He looked at George again and said, "I heard your mother is critically ill and needs 500,000 for surgery. Here is 500,000. You will divorce Lily tomorrow. Do you understand?"

As he spoke, he threw a bank card at George's feet.

George's eyes turned red.

How could he accept this card?

Lily couldn't stand it anymore and held George's hand. "Let's go to the hospital to see mom first. I can't come up with 500,000 right now, but I will find a way."

Florence held her back and said, "What way? There's no 500,000 at home, unless you sell the house! Lily, let me tell you, if you step out of this door today, don't ever call me mom again!"

Cassie rushed forward and pushed George towards the door. "Harold, you better leave quickly. Staying here will only embarrass my sister and bring shame to our family. Get out!"

"Bang!"

George was pushed out, and the villa door was slammed shut.

Tom's voice could be heard coming out from inside the villa. "George, remember to go to the Civil Affairs Bureau tomorrow and get a divorce. Otherwise, you will become a cuckold."

At that moment, laughter filled the villa.

...

With a lost and frustrated heart, George left the Willow family. Although he was Lily's husband, he truly loved her. They were college classmates and started dating during their time at school. It was only on their wedding day that a major change occurred, which deeply affected him. Since then, he had been looked down upon and harassed by his mother-in-law.

Just then, a black Rolls-Royce Phantom slowly stopped beside him.

"Master George!"

A man in his fifties, dressed in traditional Chinese clothing, stepped out of the car.

George was stunned but didn't recognize him. "You called me? Who are you?"

The man walked up to him and slightly bowed. "This humble servant is Marc from the Fonda Group. I am your father's subordinate."

What?

George was astonished.

The Willow family was just worrying about being wiped out by the Fonda group and was eager to sell their daughter when suddenly the boss of Fonda appeared, claiming to be his father's subordinate.

"What's this all about?"

"What can I do for you?"

"I heard that you have been having some financial issues recently, so I came to give you some financial aid. The password is your lunar birthday."

As he spoke, he handed George a black bank card.

George was dumbfounded, "How much money is in there?"

Marc replied, "Not much, just one hundred billion."
