Chapter 3 Father's Gift

George was shocked.

How much exactly is one hundred billion?

During the peak of the Harolds group, they were strong with a market value of three trillion, but most of it was fixed assets. It seemed like his father didn't even have one hundred billion!

No, something's not right.

That's not the point. The point is...

"You're saying that you're my father's subordinate? Then what about the Fonda group..."

Marc nodded and said, "That's right, the entire Fonda group belongs to you, young master."

"Slap!"

George slapped himself.

Marc exclaimed, "Young master, what are you doing?"

George said, "I suspect I'm dreaming."

Marc said, "It's all true. Your father, Master Harold, saved my life. If it weren't for him, I would have died with my family long ago. Master Harold single-handedly established the Fonda group and entrusted me to manage it."

"Ah?"

George was wide-eyed and dumbfounded, feeling like it was all unbelievable.

The Fonda group is much larger than the Harolds group. It is rumored to have trillions worth of assets, as well as being a dominating force in the secret society.

Was this colossal entity really established by his own father?

But he had never heard of it!

Marc spoke again, "Master Harold is a rare genius. Shortly after establishing the Harolds group, he founded the Fonda group. One in the light, the other in the dark, complementing each other! Furthermore, Master Harold instructed me to give this to you."

As he spoke, he took out an antique-looking small box and handed it to George.

George looked puzzled and curiously asked, "When did my dad give this to you? Why are you giving it to me now?"

Marc said, "Today is your 24th lunar birthday, and this is the birthday gift from Master Harold that was arranged a year ago. Happy birthday, young master!"

George was speechless.

Marc sighed and said, "Young master, the situation with Madam is not good right now. I am not able to intervene due to certain reasons. You should go and see her as soon as possible."

George replied “I will. In the meantime, please send my regards and thanks to my father”.

"Sure, feel free to give me a call if you need anything. The number I just gave you is my personal one, and it's always on for Young Master."

Marc seemed genuinely concerned.

After speaking, he got into the Rolls-Royce and drove off.

George stood still as if he was in a dream.

With the bank card in his left hand and the small box in his right, it all felt incredibly real.

Fortunately, there was an ATM right beside him. George hurried over and inserted his card, entering his PIN.

The balance displayed 10,000,000,000, one hundred billion!

Looking at all those zeros, George was stunned and questioning his life.

He then opened the small box and found a dark ring inside.

"Why did you give me this?"

He casually put it on his ring finger, and it fit perfectly.

...

Now that he had the money, George rushed to City Hospital. The top priority was to pay for his mother's surgery as quickly as possible.

The sooner the operation started, the higher the chance of success the operation would be.

He arrived at the hospital after rushing there.

His mother, Mia, had been hospitalized here since the car accident and had never woken up.

The doctor declared her a vegetable, with only a 5% chance of waking up.

Entering the familiar ward, George was dumbfounded.

His mother, Mia, was unexpectedly not in the hospital bed, and the ward had been emptied.

Where had his mother gone?

He quickly ran outside and accidentally bumped into someone.

"Ah, are you out of your mind? Can't you watch where you're going? Ha, I knew it was you, you useless waste. Hmph, is it because you can't satisfy your wife at home, so you purposely came to bump into me and take advantage of me? Look at how pathetic you are, you used to think I wasn't good enough for you, but now, someone like me is out of your league!"

George had knocked into Daisy, a nurse, and someone George had previously dated.

They had been together for a month back when they were both studying at the same university.

But George discovered that Daisy was very materialistic and had ambiguous relationships with multiple men, so he broke up with her.

"Where's my mom? Where did she go?" George didn't have time to chat with her now and asked loudly.

Daisy laughed and said, "Haha, you should ask yourself that. You can’t even take care of your own mother. What use are you, you useless waste? Are you drinking your wife's mother's foot-washing water every day, to drive yourself insane?"

George grabbed Daisy's clothes in front and shouted, "I'm asking you, where's my mom? As a nurse here, you are obligated to answer the patient’s family member”.

Seeing him angry, Daisy felt a little scared and quickly said, "She's... over there."

George looked and saw a hospital bed in the corridor. The person lying on it was his mother, Mia.

"Mom!"

George let go of Daisy and ran over, his eyes turning bloodshot.

Someone had left his mother lying on the corridor like trash. Who did this?

George was furious. "Daisy, did you do this?"

Daisy thought to herself, "This is a hospital. Why should I be afraid of him? He should be afraid of me!" She coldly hummed and said, "So what if it's me? Who told you that you're poor and can't afford it? This is a hospital, not a charity organization. If you don't have money in your account, your only option is to leave! Why are you lingering here?"

"You..." George wanted to say something, but Daisy interrupted, "You're the one who's causing a scene in the hospital! If you have the means to do so, go pay the money. If you can afford to pay the hospital boss, only then you are the boss. Can't afford it? Sorry, you better get lost!"

Daisy looked at him disdainfully. Then she sneered, "Hey, why don't you go back and kowtow a few more times to your mother-in-law and beg your wife on your knees? Maybe you can get some money... But that heartless woman, Lily, might only give you a hundred bucks to get rid of you. If you kneel to me, I'll pay for your mother's hospital bed."

At this moment, a woman's voice suddenly sounded, "Even if he kneels to me every day at home, he will never kneel to you for money."

George turned around and saw Lily, who had suddenly appeared, looking surprised.
