Chapter 8 The True and False Heart of the Ocean
Lying on the luxurious bed in the presidential suite of The Grand Royale Hotel, George found it difficult to fall asleep.
He couldn't stop thinking about what happened today.
The events that took place were shocking.
He never expected that his own father would hide such a big secret, the Fonda group, the largest secret society in Riverdale. Does that mean that his old man is the most powerful secret society boss?
In that case, was his death really due to a car accident?
Or was there another hidden reason?
It wasn't until the early hours of the morning that he finally fell into a deep sleep, only to be awakened by the alarm clock on his phone, and rushed to the hospital.
When he arrived at the hospital and took a look.
Several doctors were gathered by his mother's bed, including the exceptionally voluptuous female doctor Vivian.
He was surprised and thought that something was wrong with his mother.
He quickly asked, "Dr. Tudson, what's wrong with my mother? Has her condition worsened?"
Vivian, wearing a white coat and a mask, turned around and said, "Don't worry, it's not what you think. On the contrary, she is actually showing signs of improvement."
George was stunned and immediately exclaimed, "Really?"
Vivian nodded. "Yes, we thought there was a sudden change in your mother's condition earlier and were about to perform surgery. Unexpectedly, she quickly stabilized and all her indicators returned to normal. It seems that your mother has a strong will to survive, which is a good thing."
"Does she still need surgery?"
"Let's do an examination first to see the results. If everything is still fine, there will be no need for surgery. Surgery has its risks too."
After two hours later, the examination report was out.
Vivian nodded and said, "The situation is good, no need for surgery. And according to this situation, the chance of your mother waking up has also increased, indicating that she has her own consciousness. I will continue to use acupuncture to treat her."
George was overjoyed and suddenly hugged her tightly.
"Thank you, thank you, Dr. Tudson!"
He was genuinely happy. It was the first time in ten months that his mother's condition had improved.
Vivian was suddenly embraced and furrowed her brows.
But sensing that he didn't have any intention to disrespect her, she didn't blame him. Instead, she patted his back and said, "Alright, take good care of your mother, keep it up!"
"Yeah!"
"Can you let go of me now?"
"Sure!"
"Release me quickly!"
"No, Dr. Tudson, your hair got caught in my clothes..."
Meanwhile at the Willows’ family villa, Tom drove his Lamborghini over and came to find Lily once again.
He honked the horn.
Florence, wearing a black nightgown, opened the door to greet him, saying, "Oh, Master Harold, my dear son-in-law, it's been a night without seeing each other, it feels like ages, I've been missing you so much."
She had a bare face, and her hair was casually scattered.
She looked as young as a thirty-year-old and radiated a mature charm.
Seeing such a vibrant woman, Tom couldn't help but rushed forward and hugged her tightly while managing to restrain himself.
In his mind, he thought, "Once I marry Lily, none of you three women will be able to escape. George, that useless piece of garbage, can't even have a sip of soup while he's in Baoshan. What a fool."
With that in mind, George handed the gift he was holding to Florence.
Taking advantage of the opportunity, he rubbed against her, satisfying his cravings.
Florence didn't notice at all, instead she smiled happily, "Oh, such a good son-in-law I have. You have bought gifts for your mother. That worthless George is simply trash compared to you. How can there be such a huge difference between two people with the same last name, Lin?"
Tom chuckled, "Mom, why bring up that useless person? It just ruins the mood."
"Alright, alright, I won't bring it up."
The two entered the house.
Both Lily and Cassie, the two sisters, were there. When Lily heard Tom shamelessly call her mother "Mom," she felt extremely uncomfortable. But at this point, there was nothing she could do.
Last night.
George had confidently said that he had money and could easily solve problems. But now he was nowhere to be seen, there was not even a phone call from him. Can his words be trusted? Only a fool would believe them.
"Mom, this is the jade bangle I specially picked for you last night. Take a look and see if you like it. Your skin is fair, and your hands are beautiful. I think it suits you perfectly."
"And this diamond necklace, Muqing sister, it's for you. You're beautiful, try it on. It will definitely look great on you."
Tom took out the gifts, accompanied by sweet words. The two women were immediately charmed. They couldn't help but be drawn to him.
Florence became even more determined to make George divorce Lily. Compared to the Harold brothers, George was truly inferior.
Looking at the bracelet in her hand, Florence grew to love it more and more. But seeing Lily sitting on the sofa, silent for a long time, she immediately changed the subject, "Good son-in-law, since you bought gifts for mom and sister, did you also buy one for your wife, Lily?"
Lily felt uneasy and said, "Mom, can you have some dignity? George and I haven't divorced yet. I am still George's wife."
Florence sneered, "Wife? What a joke! Has he even touched you? You even sold your wedding ring, what are you talking about? While Master Harold is here, quickly call that useless man, go to the Civil Affairs Bureau to get a divorce, and while you're at it, get married to Master Harold. Then you'll be his wife."
Tom was overjoyed upon hearing this.
Cassie chimed in, "Yeah, sis, I think that's a good idea. It saves us from running around again. Besides, I won't accept that useless George as my brother-in-law, only young talents like Tom can be worthy of that title."
Lily felt completely weak.
She was rendered speechless.
Unexpectedly, Tom said, "Alright, I'll go get our marriage certificate right away."
Lily felt immense disgust in her heart and said, "You haven't even helped me solve the problem yet. Let's talk about this after we deal with the matter!"
Tom chuckled and said, “I will leave it to my dad to handle, simple! How about this, it's almost noon, let's go have lunch first. After we finish eating, Lily, you can go and get divorced from that waste. I'll immediately ask my dad to take care of it... Lily, I'm not threatening you, it's just a gesture for my dad to see. Otherwise, he definitely wont’ believe me if I say that I want to marry you if you haven't even divorced yet!”
Florence nodded.
She quickly said, "I'll call that waste."
...
The time was half past noon.
George had just left the hospital and was about to call Marc to ask if the matter had been resolved when he suddenly received a call from Florence. She said they were having a meal with Tom and asked him to bring the marriage certificate. They will go to the Civil Affairs Bureau directly to settle their divorce after their meal.
George's face turned gloomy.
Divorce my ass!
"Alright, I'll come right away!"
He decided to bring the Heart of the Ocean worth thirty million and ruthlessly slap Florence and Tom.
George arrived at the restaurant half an hour later where they were having their meal.
As soon as he entered, he saw Tom actually taking out a jewelry box and saying to his wife Lily, "Lily, my heart for you is as clear as day, just like this one-of-a-kind Heart of the Ocean in the world. You are the only one in my life."
Then, he opened the jewelry box, revealing it in front of Lily.
Cassie covered her mouth in astonishment and exclaimed, "Oh my god, is this...this the Starry Jewelry's masterpiece, the thirty-million-dollar Heart of the Ocean? I saw someone online saying that a mysterious tycoon bought the Heart of the Ocean last night. So it was you, Brother Tom! Sister, you're so lucky!"
Tom's expression froze for a moment.
The Heart of the Ocean in Tom’s possession was actually fake, but he never expected that someone would actually buy a thirty-million-dollar Heart of the Ocean. However, the situation had turned to his favour since someone had bought it, and there would be no way to verify his fake. He immediately said, "Yes, I bought it for thirty million last night."
At this moment, George sneered, "Hmph, yours is completely fake!"
"This one of mine, is the real Heart of the Ocean!"
He walked in and carelessly threw the jewelry box in his hand onto the table.
