Episode 4: Remember Ariel's Warning?

Ava.

As I watched them in surprise, trying to understand what was happening, I wondered who this guy was and why he was fighting for me. And why is the other one after me?

Just like I was wounded on my leg, I couldn't keep on running but sat and watched them fight against each other.

It was a tough battle between the rogue and the Alpha wolf, but in the end, the Alpha wolf ended up eliminating the rogue's life.

Then I began to gaze closely at Alpha wolf as he was breathing heavily, looking directly at the rogue wolf on the floor.

I thought it was Caleb, but I wasn't sure. I knew that no matter what, he would never let me go just like that.

So, realizing that it was him, I quickly managed to stand up and looked at him, almost losing my breath as smile ran over my face.

It's definitely him!

"Caleb, I knew it was you..." I was saying as I tried to approach him, but he held me with a deep voice and gazed directly at me.

I noticed how his eyes were reddish, and I realized that it wasn't actually Caleb—it was the Alpha of the rival pack!

It was Alpha Dante! So, realizing it was him, I began to move backwards in fear, but he returned to his human form and gently approached me.

"Don't come close to me. What are you doing here?" I said as I picked up a stick from the floor and pointed it at him and the rain was becoming heavier.

"I am protecting this territory from rogues attacks," Alpha Dante responded.

"It's not your territory! So why are you protecting it?" I responded as I kept moving backwards in fear.

"Because someone like you could have been dead now if I didn't help! Oh, please, could you keep that wood in your hands? I am not here for you," he said, and I paused, gazing at him for a while, before slowly lowering my hand.

Then Alpha Dante approached me, looking directly into my face, and placed his hand on my cheek, gently rubbing them as the rain began to sing for us.

"Hmm, such a pretty girl. What are you doing out here at the woods all alone? under the rain?" he said, before his eyes met my bags, and he widened his eyes.

"I am equally shocked about the bags. You must be traveling, right?" Alpha Dante asked.

I wanted to reply with tears and tell him the truth, but no. My pack and his pack have been in a serious conflict for the past decade, and it has led to many deaths.

If I tell him the truth, he might try to take advantage of that, so I won't.

"Yes, I definitely have to see someone," I responded to him, pretending to be okay.

"Huh? Really? That's nice, but it's advisable that you return to your pack. Maybe tomorrow at daybreak would be better because what you have witnessed is level 1. More of it is on its way."

"It's not safe out here, am still tracking more of it" Alpha Dante said as he began to walk away, leaving me behind.

"Excuse me...?" I said while he was walking away, and that caught his attention as he looked back.

"Thank you!" I said to him. He responded with a nod and continued to walk away.

"Please, can I come with you?" I said with a confused and scared voice, though I didn't even know when the words left my mouth.

What was I really thinking? Go with him? To where exactly?

Though he had already heard what I said, he turned and began gazing at me.

"What...? You said what?" he asked, and I felt a sigh of relief.

"Nothing, actually. I'm just saying thank you," I responded, and he nodded at me.

"Leave here at once, now that you still can. It's advisable!" he warned me again, but this time the warning rang a bell.

So while he was still standing, gazing at me, I quickly packed up my belongings and began heading back to my pack. But seriously, I don't even know what to do.

Caleb has already warned me sternly that he doesn't want to see me there again, but what am I going to do? Of course, I have nothing else to do. Am I stranded or lost forever like this?

Do I just have to return now or ignore Alpha Dante's warning and continue my journey? I don't know what to do. I'm so confused under this rain, my whole body is wet, and I'm already feeling so cold.

THE NEXT DAY, MORNING.

After yesterday's stressful events, I couldn't help but fall into a deep sleep like never before.

Even in my current condition, I wasn't supposed to sleep, just like I didn't sleep at all throughout the night. I only managed to doze off earlier this morning before daybreak.

So, I was in bed when I heard a noise that immediately woke me up.

As soon as I woke up, Gwen, one of the omegas helping me to arrange my room, greeted me. "Good morning, my lady!" she said while continuing to arrange the room. I couldn't even respond and just sighed, staring into space.

Then she approached me. "It's good to have you back, my lady. You made the right decision. You belong here. The pack will always work to protect you since you have Alpha Zed's support," Gwen said, nodding at me.

"Thank you, Gwen," I responded to her, and she nodded back. She was about to walk away but stopped and returned to me.

"Excuse me, my lady. I don't know if you would allow me to give you some advice about Caleb? Or... I'm sorry for crossing my boundaries," she said and wanted to walk away.

"No, stop. You haven't done anything wrong. What is it that you want to talk to me about?" I requested, and she looked around, checking if anyone was nearby.

She approached me once again. "Caleb was so unhappy about your return last night, my lady. He was so angry that you reported him to his dad."

"I heard that Alpha Zed promised you that today's night full moon won't pass by without Caleb mating with you or he will loose the right of becoming the Alpha of the pack to you," Gwen said, swallowing her saliva.

This statement from her even shocked me so hard because I never knew that Alpha Zed will go that far, he is such a good man.

"You know that too, right? Today is your wedding day, but you must be careful. I have seen the preparations for this mating celebration, I don't know... but I also think that I haven't seen anything related to about the wedding, according to the preparation, it's still all about Ariel and Caleb" Gwen said, leaving me speechless, Gwen is such a wise lady.

And if I ever becomes the Luna, she will no longer have to be an omega but my beta.

"Ariel is so desperate to have Caleb, and I think everything is going as she planned. But you have to be careful for your life, my lady. Even if Caleb gets married to you, don't you think he will still make you suffer more?"

"Is he even the kind of person who will take care of your children?" Gwen asked, as tears almost started flowing from my eyes. I quickly stopped her.

"Gwen, it's okay! Thank you! Maybe you should get me some food to eat. I'm hungry," I replied, and she nodded before leaving.

Just as she was leaving, Caleb stepped in with a glass of tea and some bread.

I was left in surprise, looking at him, wondering what he should be doing in my room. Then he approached and sat beside me on the bed, grabbing my hand and kissing it.

With that, I couldn't hold back my tears. They flowed out of my eyes like birds flying in the sky.

"Caleb, have you come because your father has forced you to?" I asked, as he shook his head with an innocent look on his face.

I could tell that he was being genuine this time. Maybe he had returned to his senses.

"No, I have come to apologize and express how sorry I am. I was so foolish to have ever opened my mouth to reject you and our baby," he said, touching my stomach while I still looked at him in surprise.

"My actions towards you were terrible, and I accept that. But our wedding cannot move forward unless you forgive me, so we can start anew. Please," he said, attempting to kneel before me, but I quickly stopped him.

"You are the soon-to-be Alpha of this pack. I don't think you deserve to kneel before anyone. Moreover, I have forgiven you," I replied, and he smiled happily, hugging me tightly.

"Thank you so much," he said, and I nodded. Then he picked up the tea he had made.

"You must have been very hungry and thirsty," he said, handing me the tea cup. I wanted to take it, but he shook his head.

"No, allow me to feed you," he said, and a smile spread across my face. I opened my mouth as he poured the tea into it.

The next moment, all the smiles vanished from his face, and he started gazing at me with a dangerous look. However, I hadn't realized it yet.

"Caleb, the bread!" I said as he was taking looking at me, am still unaware of the deadly expression on his face. Suddenly, I felt something running down my body. I looked down at my skirt and realized it was blood.

It's my unborn baby floating away! I was in shock as I looked at Caleb.

"What...? What have you done?!" I shouted, unable to bear the shock of losing my baby! I found myself lying on the ground, and slowly, my eyes closed.
