Chapter 6 Blood Lotus

As for Matthew's words, nobody in Elizabeth's family paid any attention. After Isabella tossed things at him, she slammed the door shut with a bang.

Matthew touched his nose as he looked at the closed door, let out a cold laugh, and turned around to leave.

Apartment 7-2 in the garden community, the three-bedroom apartment that Matthew had struggled to buy, was no longer accessible to him.

He had something to eat outside, then took the subway back to Jacob's house. On the subway, Chloe called him to inform him that she had successfully negotiated with Grand Vision Ltd. for a full acquisition at a price of 190 million.

This saved Matthew a lot of money. The signing was scheduled for tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock. Matthew was filled with joy, impatiently looking forward to tomorrow!

Scarlett's expression at that time should be quite wonderful! At the same time, he also had the opportunity to recover his memories tomorrow.

With various emotions in his heart, he spent the night on the chair at Jacob's house. The next day, he greeted Jacob and left his house, then looked up the address of Grand Vision Ltd. online and took the subway to the company.

At 9:30, he arrived at his destination smoothly. Grand Vision Ltd. was one of the largest logistics companies in Riverdale, with a six-floor office building.

When Matthew walked to the entrance, the security guard stopped him and asked, "Stop, what are you here for?"

Matthew was slightly stunned, then a slight smile appeared on his face as he said, "Um, I suppose I'm here to work."

"Work? Where's your employee ID?" The security guard walked up to Matthew and asked.

The security guard appeared to be in his thirties and had a strong build.

"I..."

Matthew was about to explain when a voice suddenly came from behind him, saying, "Matthew Parker?"

Matthew looked in the direction of the voice and saw Scarlett riding her scooter, stopping in front of the company entrance.

"Hey, Scarlett, you're late again today. Be careful not to get into trouble."

The security guard at the entrance said. "I've already informed the boss. He's coming here to see me for something," Scarlett replied.

"What does he want?" Scarlett asked.

"He said he came here to work," the security guard explained.

"To work? You came here to work as a security guard?" Scarlett looked at Matthew, half-smiling, and asked, "Didn't you say yesterday that you wanted our family to regret? That you came to our company as a security guard to make us regret?"

Matthew sneered, "You'll find out soon enough."

"I don't know if I'll regret it later, but what I do know is that you will regret it now," Scarlett sneered.

The security guard standing at the door brightened up. From the conversation between Matthew and Scarlett, he could tell that the two of them were not getting along.

He felt it was necessary to step forward, to show off in front of a beauty like Scarlett, in case there was a chance?

He glanced at Matthew and said, "You came here to work as a security guard? Who hired you? As the security captain, why don't I know about this? You don't need to come to work anymore, just get lost!"

Matthew glanced at him calmly and asked, "Since when does a security captain have the authority to fire someone?"

"You!" The security captain's face flashed with anger.

"He doesn't have the authority to fire you, but someone else does." Scarlett sneered, taking out her phone and making a call.

In a sweet voice, she said, "Hello, boss, the company has hired someone as a security guard that I particularly dislike. Can you fire him?"

"Well, I'm at the entrance, come over please." Scarlett said, then hung up the phone and looked at Matthew, saying, "It seems like you don't know. I work in human resources at this company. My boss is the HR director. Firing you can happen in a matter of minutes."

Sure enough, two minutes later, a middle-aged man in his thirties, dressed in a suit, walked out from the entrance. When he saw Scarlett, he showed a strong smile and said, "Scarlett, you're late again!"

From the way he looked at Scarlett, it was clear that he was her pursuer. From Scarlett's eyes, Matthew could see that she wasn't interested in this so-called HR director, but rather saw him as a backup.

The man walked downstairs, glanced at Matthew and asked, "Is he the new security guard?"

Scarlett quickly nodded and said, "Yes."

He looked at Matthew, sizing him up, and said, "You don't need to come anymore."

Then he turned to Scarlett and said, "Scarlett, let's go upstairs. I have prepared breakfast for you."

Scarlett disdainfully glanced at Matthew and flashed a self-satisfied smile. She said, "I really regret it!"

After speaking, she pushed the scooter and walked towards the office building with the HR director. Matthew said nothing, but touched his nose.

After a few minutes, the captain of the security team saw that Matthew was still lingering and stared at him, saying, "What are you still doing here? Get lost!"

Matthew glanced coldly at him and said, with a slight change in his expression, "You still dare to stare? I think you have a death wish, right?"

As he said that, a Mercedes-Benz slowly approached and honked its horn.

The car window rolled down, and a middle-aged man poked his head out from the back seat and asked, "What's going on?"

The captain of the security team quickly nodded and bowed, saying, "Boss, it's just a small matter. I'll go open the door for you immediately!"

"Mr. Parker!" Just then, from the other side of the back seat, a pleasant voice sounded.

Matthew looked and saw Chloe, wearing glasses and a uniform, sitting in the car.

When the middle-aged man heard Chloe's words, he looked at Matthew in astonishment and asked, "Is he the Mr. Parker who wants to acquire our company?"

Chloe nodded and said, "That's right!"

The middle-aged man quickly opened the car door, got out of the car, and walked up to Matthew. In the bewildered gaze of the security captain, he said, "Mr. Parker, you are truly outstanding. You are so young and yet able to fully acquire our company."

Chloe also got out of the car and walked over. She blinked at Matthew and then smiled, introducing, "Let me introduce you, this Mr. Campbell."

Mr. Campbell furrowed his brow and said, "Mr. Parker, why didn't you go up to wait for me?"

Beside them, cold sweat had started to form on the security captain's forehead. He swallowed his saliva and said, "Boss, could it be that you made a mistake? It seems like he came to our company to work as a security guard..."

Mr. Campbell understood what was going on when he saw his reaction. He looked at the security captain, smiled and said, "Later on, Mr. Parker will be your new boss."

The security captain's face changed drastically!

Mr. Campbell didn't say anything more, but made a gesture of invitation and said, "Let's talk inside."

Matthew smiled and nodded, then he glanced at the security captain and said, "You don't have to come to work anymore."

...

The signing process was not complicated. Matthew signed his name and left his fingerprints, with Chloe handling the middle procedures.

The company didn't experience much turbulence; only a few senior executives knew about this matter. At ten thirty, the acquisition contract officially took effect.

Matthew let out a sigh and turned to the company's CEO, saying, "First things first, let go of the HR director. Find a new one."

The CEO was taken aback, not expecting Matthew to issue such an order right after signing the contract. However, he nodded and said, "Alright, I'll take care of it right away."

...

On the 3rd floor of the company, in an office belonging to the Human Resources department, the HR director, Daniel, was sitting next to Scarlett.

He smiled and asked, "Did you enjoy the buns from that bakery? I drove several kilometers this morning just to buy them for you. After work, you have to accompany me to watch a movie."

People in the HR department were used to this. Daniel had feelings for Scarlett, and everyone in the department knew.

Scarlett pouted, about to respond. However, at that moment, a person walked in from the entrance of the office and said, "No need to leave after work."

Daniel's expression slightly changed, and he quickly stood up, bowing his head. "Mr. Campbell!"

Mr. Campbell glanced at Daniel and calmly said, "Settle your salary with the finance department, pack up your things, and leave."

Daniel was taken aback and quickly said, "Mr. Campbell, what do you mean?"

"What do I mean?" Mr. Campbell gave him a look and said, "It's simple, you're fired!"
