CHAPTER 5

AVA CLARKE

Today is a new day, and I'm walking down the stairs and towards the kitchen when I see the three people sitting at the breakfast table again.

I glance angrily at Damien, seeing that he's looking at me with an amused expression. I look at Lucius and see that he's talking to Elara about something.

Furthermore, I sit down quickly in the chair, and I can't look at Lucius without remembering everything that happened the night before.

Damien hates me and likes to tease me, and that means that right now maybe Lucius knows that I had a very naughty dream about him and his brother at the same time.

I'm feeling like a very perverted person right now.

"How's your breakfast, Ava?", I raise my head, sipping my coffee quickly, when I hear Lucius' voice.

I hope he doesn't notice that I'm very strange this morning.

"Oh, everything's very good, Lucius!", I say with a gentle smile, and I turn my head to hear Damien's loud laughter.

I glare at him when I remember that I said almost the same words as when I was moaning in that crazy dream.

God, I'm going to kill him!

"Damien, stop it, please!", Lucius says, looking seriously at his little brother.

I decide to stay silent because I feel so much like killing this white-haired man. I continue eating my breakfast, and I feel that he is still looking at me at this moment.

Today is my first day at university, and I'm very excited about it.

"Damien, the university is too far away for someone who doesn't have a car yet, be so kind as to give Ava a lift on her first day.", I snap and almost spit out the coffee I'm drinking when I hear Lucius say it.

"Oh, that won't be necessary! I love walking!", I say, smiling when I see Damien looking at me strangely.

"Today will be your first day, and it'll be easier for you, Damien also studies there, so it'll be perfect.", he says to the white-haired man, who nods and looks at me with a very cynical smile.

"Of course! It'll be perfect! I'll meet you at the car in 5 minutes!", he says, getting up from his chair, and I nod before doing the same thing.

I don't want to go with him because I know perfectly well that he won't stop annoying me, and I don't want that to happen. Furthermore, I grab my backpack before hurrying out of the mansion to find Damien waiting for me inside a beautiful, powerful black vintage car.

"Wow!", I say, admiring the car in front of me, but I stop smiling when I hear the voice of the most annoying person in the world.

"Come on, get in! I don't want to be late because of you, little mouse.", I huffed, getting into the car and smelling his expensive perfume.

Damien Fell is a very handsome man, but he loves to tease me with this ridiculous nickname.

I put on my seatbelt when I felt the car being started, and I looked over to see him concentrating on the steering.

"I know I'm so handsome, little mouse.", he says, smiling and looking at the road as I frown.

"What?"

"You keep looking at me. I know I'm handsome, but you're looking at me like I'm a piece of juicy meat.", I roll my eyes, hearing him laugh next to me.

I look out the open car window, feeling the cool morning wind blowing against my face. It's very beautiful here and full of trees, but I couldn't see that yesterday because of the darkness of the night.

"What do you study at the university?", I ask, turning my head to see that he's no longer laughing at me.

"Art.", he says with just one word, and I nod.

"That's nice. I'm going to study psychology.", I say, smiling excitedly, and he looks at me like I'm crazy right now.

"Why do you hate me? I swear I'm trying to be your friend because we're going to be together for a long time, so it would be easier if you didn't treat me like this.", I say it seriously, and this time he doesn't look at me.

"I don't hate you, I just don't like you. I don't like people, and you've probably realized that. And I don't want to be your friend."

God, why is he so difficult?

I decide to stay silent while he keeps driving. It takes a while for us to reach the center of the small town, and when we do, I try to remember something.

There are so many people here in such a small and reserved town. I see the car being parked, and I turn my head to look at the large university building.

I see that a lot of students are looking at us right now, and it makes me sigh. Furthermore, I still don't have any friends here, and the only person I know who studies here doesn't want to be my friend either.

Great!

This is going to be a long, long year for me.

I get out of the car with my backpack and see that everyone is looking at Damien as if he were the most beautiful person in the world.

I frown when I see a group of girls looking at him with naughty expressions, and I feel disgusted.

Furthermore, I walk away from him towards the entrance to the university, and many people are also looking at me as if I'm a strange girl.

I hate that kind of look.

I pick up my cell phone and see that there's still a long time before my class starts. I head for the nearest women's restroom, and before I push open the door, I look back to see a student talking to Damien.

Likewise, I see that Damien is still staring at me, and I shake my head before pushing the door open, but my eyes widen when I hear a girl's scream.

I enter the bathroom quickly to see a girl on the floor with her hands over her forehead. I realized that I hit her head hard when I pushed the door.

"Oh my God! I'm sorry!", I say, helping her pick up all the books that have fallen on the floor.

"It's okay!", she says, smiling as I hand her the books.

I keep looking at the girl in front of me, she has very beautiful black skin, short hair, and brown eyes.

"I've never seen you here before, are you a new student?", she asks, and I nod quickly.

"Yes, my name is Ava.", I say, holding out my hand, and she accepts it, smiling at me.

"I'm Sophia, welcome to Mystic Heaven Main University, Ava!"

"Thanks and sorry about that!", I say, pointing to the bathroom door, and seconds later we're laughing together.

"Do you already have friends here, Ava?", she asks, and I nod, washing my hands in the bathroom sink.

"Well, then you've found the right person! I'm going to be your new friend, and I'm going to show you around and tell you all about this place!", she says, putting her arm in mine, and I smile excitedly.

Before entering this restroom, I was very hesitant and nervous because I didn't know anyone there, but I was surprised to make friends with a girl so quickly and easily.

Sophia seems like a really nice person, and together we start walking around the university while she tells me about everything. I'm very happy because she also tells me that she's on the same psychology course as me.

We're sitting on the green grass of the large campus when I turn my head to see Damien walking alongside a very pretty blonde girl.

I keep looking at them, and seeing that the girl seems very interested in him, I blink my eyes before focusing all my attention on Sophia next to me, who keeps talking about our teachers.

He could be a bit nicer to me, I'm new in this town and I don't know anyone, and now we live in the same place. He could be a nice person, but he doesn't like me, and I decided not to care about that.

Now we're inside the classroom, and I'm sitting next to Sophia. She helps me with things and content that I'm not used to yet, and I like that.

I decided to concentrate as much as possible on everything our teacher is saying at the moment. But my mind is dominated by memories of everything that happened last night.

I close my eyes for a few seconds when I remember that I had an extremely erotic dream about two brothers at the same time. They are handsome men, but I can't understand why it happened to me.

I just want Damien not to say anything about it to Lucius, or I might get into trouble with my job. He might think I'm interested in him, and Elara would never trust me if she also knew about this story.

I tried to relax sitting in this chair on my first day at university, but I couldn't stop thinking about my crazy dream. It all seemed so real that I sighed and shook my head discreetly.

After a few hours and more classes with Sophia, it's time to leave, and this time I don't see Damien's car in the university parking lot, which means he's already gone.

It's raining now, and I don't have an umbrella, and I need to get back to the mansion to look after Elara. I decide to walk back to the house, feeling the rain soaking me. Sophia offered me a ride in her car, but she lives in the city center, and I didn't want to get in the way of her plans.

The way back to the Fell family home is much longer and farther than I had imagined before, and when I stand in front of the mansion gates, I feel my body completely wet.

I open the door to find the living room empty, and I'm climbing the stairs when I hear Elara's voice.

"What happened to you? Did you fall into a river?", She starts laughing, and I sigh before hurrying up to my room.

I don't see Lucius this time, and Elara is playing on the sofa with their dolls.

I'm shivering as I quickly remove my clothes before drying my body and hair and putting on warm, comfortable clothes.

Despite the heavy rain, I really enjoyed my first day at school. I left my room feeling better, and at that moment, my eyes settled on the other corridor of the mansion.

Elara and Lucius told me never to go through that door, and I couldn't understand why. I felt very curious, but I shook my head before returning to the living room and seeing that Elara was still playing by herself.

I head into the kitchen to start preparing something quick to eat, and I'm sitting there chewing when I see Elara looking at me with a curious expression.

She approaches me and just watches me eat, and I feel confused. I drink all the juice and get up, leaving the kitchen with her by my side.

"Well, what do you want to do today? It's raining outside, so we can't play in the cemetery again.", I say that, looking at her and seeing that the girl looks thoughtful.

"I don't know!", she says, shrugging her shoulders. I nod, and together we head to her room.

"Where's your father, Elara?", I ask, confused at not seeing Lucius here.

"He's resting in his room, and he doesn't want to be disturbed. Can you read me stories?", she asks when we're in the bedroom, and I nod again.

Elara sits down on her bed, and I take one of her books before sitting down on the carpet and opening it. I frown when I realize that this is no ordinary children's storybook.

"Are you sure you want to hear this? These kinds of stories don't scare you?", I'm surprised when she nods, and I sigh before starting to read the book.

The book is about dangerous monsters in a city, and I continue reading the story as the girl continues to listen intently.

Elara is no ordinary child, and I'm always very surprised by her. She continues to lie in bed, and I'm almost at the end of the story when I hear the bedroom door being opened.

I close the book when I see Lucius enter the room and see that he's wearing black clothes as if he's going out somewhere.

"Elara, it's almost time to go.", he says, and the girl nods, getting up from the bed, and I get up from the floor.

"Ava, do you mind staying alone in the house for a few hours? I promised I'd take Elara out of the house today.", he says, and I smile, helping the girl put on a pink coat.

"No, you two can go! I'll be fine!"

Lucius nods, and I see them leave the room quickly. Minutes later, I approach Elara's bedroom window and see that they are getting into another car.

It's raining now, and I leave the girl's room before picking up my cell phone and calling my aunt and uncle.
