this book is good but I'm getting tired of the jumping back and forth without making sense the story does not flow

what happened to Conrad? All of a sudden his Beta is his brother. At the beginning of a chapter she is having a prenatal appointment and then in te same chapter they haven't had sex yet. And Laura she just meets her for the first time but when Jam is saying what she is being punished for it is for cotinued harassment of ;Methis.
