Alpha Ajax
Ajax
It should have been a routine run under the full moon. My best friend Ross insisted on following me good thing he did when we stumbled upon the assault on that girl. Normally, we should have done nothing but they were on our territory and I couldn’t imagine what a girl like her could have done to warrant a beating like that.
It might have been my wolf talking but when I looked into her eyes something snapped and I charged. The orchestrator of the assault fled like a coward. I should have gone after him but I was focused on the beta trying to dispose of the girl in the lake.
Ross took care of the omegas if they were strong enough they would heal but I didn’t give a fuck. The girl, a gorgeous little thing with eyes like a precious stone passed out by the lake. Ross wasn’t too happy about me carrying her back to the pack but I couldn’t leave her there.
“What are we going to do if someone comes asking for their fugitive?” Ross asked.
“We don’t know she’s a fugitive,” I brushed him off as we walked to my private chambers.
The pack omegas took the girl from me and sent her to the pack clinic. I hoped she survived I didn’t sense a wolf in her and she took a bad beating.
“Last thing we need if we’re going to persuade your Father into picking you to become Alpha is trouble,” Ross added, panic in his voice rising.
“I know Ross,” I said through gritted teeth.
“I don’t want to see Oscar’s face when he finds out.”
Oscar my brother and I were different. We brought something unique to the position of Alpha. In a few months, my Father would step down and appoint one of us as the next Alpha. No battle he just picked and Oscar was sucking up big time. I’m not surprised he’d been doing that his whole life.
“Alpha Ajax,” Commander Cyrus boomed.
Ross groaned. News travels quickly in this pack.
I stormed into my room with Ross tailing behind and the commander not far. Two beautiful blonde women with curly hair waited for me in my king-sized bed. I forgot I asked for them. They giggled and curled their fingers at me but gasped in surprise when Commander Cyrus entered my chambers.
I turned to Ross. He grinned like an idiot at the girls.
I ground my teeth. “Give us a moment… everyone.”
The women quickly slipped into satin robes then scurried out of the room. Ross gave me a pointed look. I nodded to assure him I was fine.
“What do you want, Commander? Make it quick.”
Cyrus folded his arms behind his back and cleared his throat.
“I heard you brought a woman into the pack. It’s against—”
“Don’t tell me what’s against protocol. I know what I did!”
“You could have done anything! Gone off to sleep with women from another pack… again picked fights in a random bar but you’ve brought a random woman into the pack. Don’t you realize the complications of that?
I growled and searched for a bottle of scotch. The one I saw was empty, damn it.
My wolf rose to the edge of my skin. I thought about how her eyes closed when she passed out. It boiled my blood to think about someone hurting her. It was against my nature to show mercy but I couldn’t leave her. She fit perfectly in my arms I shouldn’t feel this way. I’ve had numerous women in my arms but with her it felt different. It felt right. Like she belonged there. It was weird because I didn’t even know her name.
“We don’t even know what pack she’s from. I would expect this from your brother, not you Ajax!”
I grabbed the scrawny bugger by the shirt and lifted him off the ground.
“Do not compare me to my brother, ever again, got it?”
Cyrus swallowed. “General Maximus won’t be back for two days. He’ll expect to hear from you about the girl.”
I dropped him. “Fuck off.”
He nodded and marched off. I didn’t give a damn about General Maximus. He was a kiss up and I knew he wanted my Father to choose Oscar as the next Alpha of the pack. I loved my brother but he wasn’t ruthless. He wasn’t decisive. He couldn’t rule a pack with dangerous enemies like ours. Mystic Pack was on the rise. It grew faster than the packs around us which made us a threat and I expected to protect my pack and my wolves from our enemies.
I marched to the window and watched the pack gather around a bonfire and share meat. I should be down there but my wolf suggested I go visit the girl.
“Yes, I should.” I turned and walked towards the door then stopped myself.
“No, I shouldn’t. Damn, you’re not going to put me in more trouble than I already am.”
My wolf hid his head. I knew most of it was me. She was a fighter I could feel it.
The door opened and I thought it was someone else ready to scold me or my beautiful blondes but it was Ross. I frowned.
“Hey, she’s awake.”
That changed everything.
They put her in a room at the slave mansion. I was slightly pissed it was a dangerous place wolves picked women from here as they pleased and my little fighter was a gem. I entered her room and found her sitting on the edge of the bed with her limbs pressed together.
She looked up and gasped.
I paused a foot from her. She inched back on the bed. Oh, no what if she heard of? Heard that I was the Alpha who slaughtered packs, the wolf without a grain of mercy in his soul but here was another woman who’d disrupted the darkness of my soul. I swore off love after losing the woman I was going to marry…
“You… you’re the wolf who saved me.” Her voice cracked.
I inched forward and knelt to her level. She kept her hands in a tight fold. She was dressed in a shot satin night gown that exposed the bruises on her shoulders and the cuts on her legs. My eyes travelled to her busted lip. She must not have a strong wolf or else she would have started healing.
“I did,” I said softly.
I pushed my wolf down because he wanted to kill someone for hurting her.
“Why?” She asked.
“Why?” I frowned. Fuck, I don’t know. “I couldn’t leave you there.”
She looked around the room. I wasn’t comfortable leaving her here.
“I owe you,” she said.
“Yeah,” I stood. “Your life even.”
She frowned, her gorgeous eyes green eyes with golden flecks got darker. I loved that.
“I don’t know about that,” she said.
“Are you going to deny you’d be alive without me?” I smirked.
She bit her swollen lower lip. I wanted to kiss it better but judging by the growing ache in my pants it would be a lot more than kissing.
“Here’s the deal. You’re going to fuck me and me alone. You won’t as much as look at another man without consequences. From now on you belong to me.”
She quaked and gawked at me. She stood and wobbled on her feet but met my stare.
“You’re making me your sex slave?”
“It’s my Alpha right.” I folded my arms. I saw the fire in her eyes and waited for the explosion.
I reached out and stroked her cheek against my better judgement she didn’t flinch but seemingly leaned into my touch and I knew I was fucked.
She snatched her head away.
“You can’t do that. I didn’t survive to be locked away.”
“I didn’t say anything about locking you up. Unless that’s what you want.”
She moved to the window and stared out of it. I appeared behind her but not enough to let her feel my burning erection.
“Make your choice sweetheart. Stay with me or I send you back to the wolves.”
