Chapter 3 The Tattoo

The cab driver turned pale with fear and nervously got out of the car to negotiate. Sadie sat in the passenger seat, frowning as she looked outside. This car was no ordinary vehicle; it was a limited edition Rolls-Royce Phantom, with only seven in the world. Even a small scratch on the paint would be enough to bankrupt this cab driver.

Sadie estimated that this dispute wouldn't be resolved anytime soon. If she were alone, she could wait, but all three kids were in the car, and the weather was unpredictable. If it started raining, the kids could get sick, especially Mia, who was the most fragile and prone to fevers.

Sadie decided to intervene and mediate between the cab driver and the Rolls-Royce owner. "Noah, Nathan, Mia, stay in the car and don't move. I'll be right back," she instructed.

"Okay, Mommy, be careful!" the three kids reminded her in unison.

The little parrot, sensing the quiet outside, also poked its head out, looking around curiously. "You're such a glutton," Mia said, pulling out a bag of snacks from her pocket. She grabbed a piece without looking and fed it to the little parrot.

In the quiet car, the only sound was the parrot munching on snacks. Mia pressed her fluffy little head against the parrot's and comforted it with a smile, "Little Coco, hang in there. We'll be home soon!"

Just then, the Rolls-Royce driver walked over, looking angry, and demanded, "What the hell are you doing?"

Flustered, the cab driver pointed at Sadie. He said, "It's all her fault! She kept urging me, so I got anxious and tried to overtake!"

"What are you talking about?" Sadie looked at the cab driver in shock, unable to believe it. She retorted, "You were driving recklessly. How is that my fault?"

"It's clearly your fault!" the cab driver insisted, completely shirking responsibility.

As they were about to argue, the passenger window of the Rolls-Royce rolled down. "Let's go. The boss has important matters to attend to," said the young man in the passenger seat coldly, his gaze briefly sweeping over Sadie's face.

"Yes!" The driver nodded in response. He warned the cab driver, "Be careful next time!" Then he quickly got back into the car.

Sadie instinctively looked at the Rolls-Royce and saw a man in the back seat, facing away from her, with his upper body bare. He was injured, with a gruesome scar on his back, and blood was continuously flowing down, staining the wolf head tattoo on his waist!

Sadie stared in shock at the wolf head tattoo, her heart almost stopping. The wolf was fierce and vivid, its blood-red eyes seemingly staring right at Sadie. She screamed inwardly, 'It's him! It really is him!'

The Rolls-Royce owner quickly left without any hesitation, leaving Sadie confused. She mused, 'Why is that male escort here? And why is he injured? Should I tell him that he is the father of my children?'

Before Sadie could gather her thoughts, the cab driver's anger turned toward her. "It's all because you urged me! I got anxious and tried to overtake!" The cab driver, full of dissatisfaction, waved his hand and demanded, "Now my car is damaged. You have to take responsibility!"

"Why are you yelling at my mommy!" Nathan shouted and immediately stood up like an angry little lion, clenching his small fists and questioning the driver. However, he was just too cute. Despite his serious attempt to protect his mother, he had no intimidation.

Noah quickly stood up, with his hands on his hips, logically rebutting, "You overtook and scratched the car in front. What does that have to do with us? We're not responsible for your reckless driving. You clearly don't understand the rules of the road. You know, we could easily report you for this."

"That's right. If you bully my mommy, I'll have the police arrest you," Mia pouted, angrily pointing to the traffic police in the middle of the road.

"Police? What do you know, kid!" The driver glanced disdainfully at Noah and continued shouting at Sadie, "Are you going to pay or not? If not, get out of the car!"

"We're not paying! And you have no right to refuse to our service!" Noah said firmly,, clenching his fists as if defending Sadie.

The cab driver cursed and was about to open the door to pull the three kids out of the car. Mia's health was always fragile, and Sadie was afraid of scaring or hurting her. Regardless of right or wrong, she got out of the car with the kids.

Sadie felt a pang in her heart. She used to be Miss Roth from the Roth family, always traveling in luxury cars. Now, even a cab driver could bully her. But she was used to it by now. In the countryside for the past few years, she had seen enough of human hypocrisy and learned to endure.

Sadie, worried, stood by the roadside with the three kids, silently waiting for the next cab, her heart unsettled. What she didn't know was that in the speeding Rolls-Royce, the injured Micah Clemens was also observing her through the rearview mirror.

'That woman looks so familiar. Where did I see her before?' Micah pondered but couldn't quite remember.

The doctor beside him was treating his wound, with blood dripping onto the leather seat. The doctor said, "Mr. Clemens, I need to give you anesthesia and then stitch the wound." Even in the car, the doctor's hands were steady, accustomed to Micah's injuries.

"No anesthesia. Just stitch it up. Anesthesia will affect my thinking," Micah said calmly.

The doctor's hand trembled slightly upon hearing his words. Then he composed and steadily stitched the wound while Micah continued reading the documents in his hand. Micah's bronze skin glowed coldly under the light, his muscle lines trembling slightly from the intense pain, yet he showed no reaction as if the stitches were not piercing his skin.
