Chapter 7

My heart was racing as I tried to process what he had just said. It was as if my soul had been jolted out of my body. I couldn't find the words to respond, so I just stared at him in disbelief.

He must have noticed my shock because he quickly changed the subject. "Let's get some rest," he said with a reassuring smile.

But I couldn't shake off the feeling of unease. As he drifted off to sleep, I couldn't help but wonder how long I could keep my true identity hidden from him.

As I closed my eyes, I was suddenly jolted awake by a vivid dream. Alpha David was standing before us, brandishing a sword at Alpha Rocco. I screamed out in terror, but it was all just a figment of my imagination.

I took a deep breath and felt Alpha Rocco's comforting hand on my back. It was then that I realized that I needed to confront my fears and reveal my true self to him.

"It's just a bad dream," I reassured him, my voice still trembling from the remnants of fear.

Without hesitation, he got up from the bed and promised to fetch some water for me. As he returned with a glass in hand, I gratefully accepted it, the cool liquid soothing my nerves.

"Tell me what happened," he urged, concern etched on his face.

I hesitated for a moment, contemplating whether to reveal the truth or not. But in the end, I chose to shield him from the burden of my fears.

"I don't remember," I lied, my voice barely above a whisper.

He studied me intently, searching for any signs of deception. "Are you sure?" he pressed, his eyes filled with genuine worry.

I nodded, my heart heavy with the weight of my secret. "Yes, the only thing I remember is that someone wants to harm you," I confessed, my voice laced with a mixture of fear and determination.

A smile tugged at the corners of his lips, his touch soothing as he gently stroked my back. In that moment, he made me believe that everything would be alright.

"That's just a dream. You don't need to worry because I won't let anything happen to me. I have the power to protect both of us, Samantha," he assured me, his voice filled with unwavering determination.

His words brought a sense of comfort, yet a lingering unease remained within me. I couldn't quite put my finger on it, but I knew deep down that something was amiss. Despite my worries, I found solace in his presence.

"Let's go back to sleep," he suggested, a gentle smile gracing his features.

Taking a deep breath, I tried to calm my racing thoughts. I held onto him tightly, seeking refuge in his embrace as I rested my head on his shoulder.

The following morning, I awoke to find an empty space beside me. Panic surged through my veins as I quickly got out of bed, my body still sore from the night's turmoil.

As I stepped out of the room, my pace quickened. To my surprise, I spotted Alpha Rocco engaged in a serious conversation with a woman from the Bloody Land pack. Doubt and pain washed over me, memories of Alpha David's betrayal resurfacing in my mind.

Suppressing my feelings of jealousy and doubt, I mustered up the courage to approach him, pretending that everything was okay. With a smile on my face, I addressed him as "Alpha."

The surprise in his eyes was evident, but I chose to ignore it. Perhaps I was overthinking, allowing my emotions to get the best of me.

"How was your sleep, My Luna?" he asked, his smile unwavering.

"It was fine. By the way, who is she?" I replied, maintaining my smile.

"Ara, please leave us," he commanded.

Unable to resist, I followed the woman's gaze. I couldn't rest until I knew who she was. Why were they engaged in such a serious conversation?

"I can sense that your conversation is quite serious," I said to him, my tone matching the gravity of the situation.

"The Rogues attacked us last night. Thankfully, our guards were vigilant and apprehended them immediately," he responded.

A wave of relief washed over me upon hearing his answer. I couldn't help but be curious about where those Rogues were taken.

"Where have they taken the captured Rogues? Why didn't they wake you up last night?" I inquired, my voice filled with curiosity and concern.

"I woke up in the middle of the night and decided to leave you undisturbed. I apologize if I should have woken you, but I didn't want to disrupt your peaceful sleep," he responded gently, his words laced with sincerity.

"I wished you had awakened me so that I could have joined you," I insisted, longing to be by his side in times of danger.

"Darling, there's no need to worry. Everything is under control now, alright?" he reassured me, his voice filled with tenderness.

"Alright," I replied, my words chosen carefully, still processing the events that had unfolded.

He pulled me into a warm embrace, his lips pressing against my forehead in a gentle kiss. Guilt washed over me for doubting him, realizing that my unsettling dream had indeed held a deeper meaning - the attack of the Rogues on our castle. Thankfully, the Bloody Stone pack had proven their strength and vigilance. I couldn't help but admire Alpha Rocco's leadership, and now, together, we would lead the entire castle area. The place that was destined for the Bloody Land pack, and for me.

"Let's share a meal together," he invited me with a warm smile, his eyes sparkling with affection.

"Alright," I replied, a smile gracing my lips as I clung to his right arm, finding comfort in his presence.

As we entered the dining area, a feast of delicious food and crimson liquid awaited us. My wolf blood stirred within me, a reminder of my unique gift.

He helped me settle into my seat beside him, and we began to eat. I couldn't help but notice the thoughtful glances he cast my way, as if lost in deep contemplation.

"Is something troubling you?" I inquired, my voice filled with genuine concern.

"It's nothing. Just enjoy your meal," he replied, his words masking any hint of worry.

"By the way, didn't I mention my dream last night? I believe it holds a connection to the Rogues' attack. I told you, someone is determined to harm you," I stated, my tone serious and determined.

"Well, they should feel sorry for themselves, for they cannot succeed in harming me," he responded with a confident smile, his unwavering belief in his own strength evident.

"I'm only worried about your safety,"

With unwavering trust in him, I readily agreed to his request. "I'll be back as soon as possible," he assured me, his smile putting my worries at ease.

"Alright, please take care of yourself," I responded, genuine concern lacing my words. He planted a gentle kiss on my forehead and embraced me tightly before departing with his comrades. My mind raced with questions - would they engage in a battle with the Rogues? Would they launch a daring assault on their stronghold? What if he sustained injuries?

Restlessness consumed me as I anxiously awaited his return. Unbeknownst to me, exhaustion eventually overcame my weary body, and I drifted off to sleep while waiting for him.

Upon awakening, his absence still lingered, causing a surge of worry to flood my senses. Determined to find him, I hastily rose from the bed, unable to ignore the nagging fear that had settled within me, especially after recalling a haunting dream from the previous night.

Stepping out into the corridor, I moved cautiously, my footsteps echoing softly. Suddenly, his voice reached my ears from within a nearby room, causing me to halt in my tracks.

"We are on the brink of fulfilling our plan. Victory is within our grasp, my dear sister," he confided, his words filled with determination.

Curiosity getting the better of me, I peered through the crack in the door, revealing his presence alongside the mysterious woman I had encountered earlier.
