Chapter Four

I WAS TRICKED?

ASTRAL'S POV CONTINUED.

I scooted closer to Gael, and decided to ask, silently.

" Why are they pointing at me, and whispering at the same time?" I asked.

" Ignore them, it is part of the scripts, and they are just acting their roles" He replied, and I nodded, thinking his explanation made sense. We got Infront of the priest, and both bowed, to acknowledge his presence.

The priest nodded at us both, before starting to go ahead, with his boring speech. I felt like yawning, but could not. I was acting a scene, so I had to do my best, and even prove my worth to the director, and all other artists, who probably thought, I used my body, to get this role, not knowing how hard, I worked for it.

Soon, we were asked to say our vows. Gael said his, and it was short and simple. I said mine also, and the priest joined us together as man and wife, as we exchanged rings. Surprisingly pure, expensive, diamonds. After all the rites, the priest told Gael, to kiss his bride.

' Here, was the difficult part' I thought. ' Was he really going to kiss me?' I wondered, and mistakenly glance to my right, only to see my director, and his assistant at the far end of the hall, throwing me a confused look.

I wondered why, was I not acting well? The director shook his head, and mouthed " oh no!" . I grew more confused, and then it hit me, as Gael took me into his arms, and started bringing me closet to kiss me.

I was not acting any scene, but getting married truly. It was unbelievable, but it was the truth. Everything started when I lost my way, and bumped into Donald, who tricked me into coming here.

' I cannot believe I was tricked?, and fell for their lies and poor acting'. ' Now, their weird behaviors, made sense, they did not want me to find out the truth, and back out from whatever, it was they were planning'.

' The lack of other familiar faces, and strange faces instead, explains everything'.

' Geez! How could I be such a big fool, to not notice anything at first' I wondered, and looked up, at Gael, to see his lips advancing closer, and closer to mine. I panicked, and tried getting out of his hold, but he suddenly, moved closer to my left ear, and whispered.

" I know, you must have figured everything out, but I beg you, please be calm for now. I promise to explain everything to you, after the wedding ceremony" He told me, and I cursed him, within, wishing he would let go of me, so I could punch him, to reseat his head. I was about to refuse, and say no, when I felt his lips on mine.

I gasped, through the kiss. ' The jerk' I thought. He fucking kissed me, stole my first kiss like that.

' How dare him?' I thought angrily, and was about to hit him on his legs, but the sound of applause, by the audience stopped me. Gael released his lips from mine, and beamed at me, to which I reacted, with a piercing glare.

After the wedding rites, the ceremony started. Music were played to entertain guests, foods were being served, and all the important guests, were lost in talking to one another.

No one was paying attention to us, any longer.

It was at this moment, Gael took me back to his dressing room, to explain everything to me.

" Now, spill please" I told him, and he sighed wearily, placing his right hand on his forehead.

" I am sorry" He began. " I never meant to put you, or anyone else through all this" He added, and I scoffed.

" But you did anyway, now spill, explain what is going on, because I am so lost" I told him.

" I was suppose to get married to my childhood sweetheart today" He said, and i mouthed an " oh".

" Then, why was I married to you, and not her?" I asked, confused.

" Please be patient, and let me explain everything" He said and I cringed from embarrassment. I found a nearby chair to sit on, before giving him the go ahead to continue.

" I got a message from her this morning, while dressing up. Apparently, she ditched me for my best friend, and eloped him, because he is the better man, and I am boring type" He said, and i let out a loud gasp.

' That is so cruel' I thought, my anger forgotten, I was feeling sorry for him instead.

" OMG! I am so sorry about that" I sympathized, and meant it. He threw me, a, weak, pained smile.

" It's okay" He muttered. " Have to be strong, and not dwell on it, like some lovesick idiot" He said, trying to act strong, but I knew deep down, he was deeply pained. This is why, in the 21 years of my entire life, I avoided falling in love. My heart was too fragile, to receive heartbreaks.

" I had to be strong at that moment, despite feeling like dying, and organize, my secretary, Donald" He began and i widened my eyes, remembering, before we set to the alter, what Gael wanted to say at first was secretary.

" I could not let my family and I, be disgraced, embarrassed and mocked, so I told Donald to get me a replacement bride, in which he got me, you" He said, and I scoff in disbelief.

" You rich people, and your pride" I commented, and he arched an eyebrow at me.

" Just to save your image, you decided to destroy my life. I worked my butts off to get that role, and now it's gone" I yelled, and Gael looked away, ashamed.

" I have a preposition which could benefits us both" He began and I rolled my eyes.

" Is it another way to destruction?" I asked.

" No!" He said. " A contract marriage instead" He added, and I froze, wondering, if I heard him right.
