Chapter 5
With a smile on her face, the woman approached Alpha Henrick, catching his attention immediately. I watched as Elijah shook his head, clearly annoyed by the woman's flirtatious behavior towards Alpha.
Curiosity got the better of her as she asked me, "They said you already have a Luna. Is it true?"
Elijah couldn't hide his frustration as he looked at me, his expression filled with disdain. "Seriously?" he asked, clearly unimpressed.
I quickly shut down any possibility, firmly stating, "No, and I have no desire to be anyone's Luna."
Undeterred, the woman boldly offered herself, saying, "But I can give you my body, Alpha."
I couldn't believe her desperation to please Alpha Henrick. As he smirked in response, I knew my suspicions were correct. He led her to his room, commanding her to follow. She glanced back at us, a smug smile on her face. Turning to Elijah, I made it clear that I would not fulfill his request. I refused to become just another woman in Alpha's bed.
"I can't continue like this. I refuse to be desperate like that woman."
"No way. I won't sacrifice my body just to please him," I firmly declared.
"You have the power to touch his heart without even using your body, Clara," he assured me.
"His heart softens at the sight of your face alone. Trust me," he added.
"But he despises this face, Elijah. What are you thinking?" I retorted, feeling frustrated.
"Because deep down, he still longs to see it. He's still in love with Samantha," he explained.
"I've already discussed this with you. Instead of constantly reminding him of Samantha, why don't you help him move on?" I suggested.
"This is the only way I know. He will never be able to love another woman besides Samantha. I'm asking you to make him stop hating her, please don't turn me down," he pleaded desperately.
I let out a sigh, realizing that I couldn't refuse him. After all, he had saved my mother's life.
I couldn't refuse him, not after all he had done for me. His smile gave me the courage to carry on with our plan, even as we stood outside Alpha Henrick's room. My mind raced with thoughts of what was happening inside.
"I need to check on my mother," I told Elijah, who simply nodded and reminded me of my mission.
"Don't worry, I'll do my best," I assured him before heading off.
As I entered my mother's room, I saw her holding a small picture. She looked up and smiled at me.
"Hi, mom!" I greeted her.
"Clara, come here!" she beckoned me closer and showed me the picture - it was of me as a baby.
"Time flies so fast. Look at you now , you're an independent and brave woman," she said, beaming with pride.
"Yes and I'm grateful to have you by my side, mom," I replied, feeling a sense of warmth and comfort wash over me.
As tears streamed down her face, she uttered, "I thought I was gone, that I wouldn't be able to watch you grow and guide you anymore."
"Thankfully, we have Elijah to thank for saving you, Mom," I reassured her.
"Yes, Elijah. I don't know how to repay him for his kindness," she replied gratefully.
Lost in thought, I couldn't help but recall Elijah's request and the weight it carried. My mom noticed my distant gaze and asked, "What's on your mind, Clara?"
I hesitated before admitting, "Nothing, Mom."
But the fear of losing her consumed me, and I couldn't hold back my emotions any longer. "What if something happens to you? I can't imagine living without you," I confessed, my voice trembling.
My mother's words echoed in my mind as I opened the door to receive our dinner. "I'm still lucky, Clara. God knows you wants me in this life time." Her smile was infectious and I couldn't help but feel grateful for her presence.
The woman who brought our food was kind and generous, just like the rest of the people who had helped us. I thanked her and watched as she left, feeling overwhelmed by their kindness.
As we sat down to eat, I couldn't help but think about Elijah and what he wanted me to do. It wasn't comfortable, but I knew I had to do it.
"Let's eat, Mom," I said, inviting her to share the meal with me. We talked and laughed, enjoying each other's company.
After we finished, I took the plates and utensils to the kitchen, saying goodbye to my mother. I was grateful for this moment, for the food, and for the people who had brought us here.
When I entered the Kitchen, my eyes fell upon a woman in tears. Without hesitation, I approached her and inquired about the cause of her distress.
"I had believed that he would choose me to be his Luna, but I was mistaken. I gave him my virginity, only to be used and abused like a mere plaything," she revealed, her voice filled with anguish.
As she turned to face me, I was taken aback to discover that she was the same woman we had encountered earlier, the one who had entered Alpha Henrick's room.
"You?!" I exclaimed, unable to contain my surprise.
"Are you the woman who was with Elijah?" she questioned, seeking confirmation. I simply nodded, offering a sympathetic smile. I urged her to cease her tears, assuring her that she deserved far better than Alpha Henrick.
"Are you not aware of his true nature?" I inquired, my voice tinged with concern.
"He views women as mere objects, mere toys. He is a notorious womanizer," I informed her.
"Yes, I am aware. I was foolish to believe that I could change him, that I could satisfy him with my body," she admitted, her tone heavy with regret. I sighed, feeling a deep sense of pity for her, which only intensified my growing disdain for Alpha Henrick. Elijah had been right all along. It was time to teach Alpha Henrick a lesson. Let us see who the true master of this game is.
As I conversed with the woman, out of nowhere, Alpha Henrick's voice boomed from behind us, "Are you two discussing me?" he scowled.
