Chapter 1

The werewolf town in Bradford was surprisingly cold today. Large snowflakes were falling on the treetops silently, and the snow on the ground was almost half a meter thick. Although werewolves were physically stronger than humans, the residents in the small town still made fireplaces to keep warm like the latter.

The Rodriguez family was getting ready for lunch.

Suddenly, a shrill scream pierced the peace of winter.

Hearing the woman's scream, everyone rushed upstairs.

"Novia, what's wrong?"

Novia Jones Rodriguez was Omar Rodriguez’s wife, and they had been married for only one year. Now, her eyes were scarlet, and her face was sad and desperate.

Seeing she could hardly stand still, Omar hurried forward to support her and worriedly said with a frown, "Novia?"

Novia's face was pale, and her shoulders were slightly trembling. She burst into tears when sadly looking at the baby on the bed with a purple face who had long died.

"Little Moony, don’t I treat you well enough? How could you cruelly kill your half-brother? He was less than three months old!"

Hearing her words, everyone was shocked and turned to look at the five-year-old girl standing by the window.

She was wearing a white dress, and her curly blond long hair was hanging over her shoulders. She nervously looked at everyone with her blue eyes and held the brown bear in her arms in fear.

Omar showed a serious face. When he sniffed at the dead baby, he scented Little Moony’s smell on its neck. So, he yelled at her with a frown, "You bastard! How can you be so ruthless? He is your half-brother!"

"No! I did not do it!"

Little Moony had never seen people staring at her with murderous gazes, so she nervously bit her lips. Her face turned pale when she said in horror, "Novia asked me to enter the room to play with the baby. When I came in, he was lying on the bed motionlessly."

Novia collapsed in Omar's arms and said with tears in her eyes, "Honey, don't blame Little Moony. She is still young, so she doesn't understand it. Maybe she didn't mean to hurt the baby. She is just afraid he would share our love for her.”

Her words convicted Little Moony of the “crime”!

Omar helped Novia who was weeping sit on the sofa, turned around, and walked toward Little Moony with a sullen face.

Then, he grabbed her arm, brutally dragged her into the yard, slapped her on the head, pulled out the belt around his waist, and slashed her hard.

Little Moony grimaced in pain. She shrank her neck in fear, tightly hugged the brown bear, and pursed her lips without saying a word, although her white dress was stained with blood.

When Omar was tired, he grabbed her arm and threw her into the corner, saying, "Admit your guilt! Damn it! Golden Pack has never had a vicious person like you before!"

Little Moony frowned in pain. She struggled to get up from the ground, wiped off the blood from the corner of her lips, and stubbornly looked at Omar with her tearful big eyes, saying, "I didn't kill him! I…"

Before she could finish speaking, Omar slapped her in the face.

"You little bastard! Before you plead guilty, you will reflect on yourself outside!"

He kicked her hard, so she fell to the ground again. Then, he gave her several more kicks to force her out of the gate, saying, "Kneel at the gate to atone for your sin!"

Then, he turned around and slammed the door shut.

Little Moony tremblingly knelt in the snow in a thin white dress with bloodstains all over her body. But she tightly pursed her lips, neither begging for mercy nor crying.

When snowflakes fell, the chilly wind blew on her and made her skin sting.

She tightly hugged the bear and carefully rubbed its ear with her uninjured cheek for fear of soiling it. After all, it was the only thing her mother had left to her.

It was cold.

She had not killed the baby! Why didn't anyone believe her?

Time flew, and it soon got dark.

Sick snow covered Little Moony's legs, shoulders, and head. And even her eyelashes were covered with a layer of hoarfrost.

She rubbed her red hands, pursed her lips, looked at the closed door, and lightly patted the snow off her body.

She was hungry. No one knew she hadn't eaten anything for a day and a night.

She touched her empty stomach and murmured, "Mom, I am hungry."

Her mother had passed away a year ago. And her father soon found a new mate and married her. Not long after, her stepmother had given birth to a cute baby.

But her stepmother was not kind. She often beat and scolded her when no one was around but treated her very well when there was someone else around. Little Moony thought there might be a demon living in her body.

"Kneel at the gate to atone for your sin!"

Recalling her father’s roar, Little Moony tried her best to open her eyes. Her little face was blue from the cold, and her body was uncontrollably trembling. So, she fell into a trance.

She raised her head and let out a sad cry, "Mom, I didn't kill the baby! I won’t plead guilty! Aww!"

She was uncomfortable, feeling she was dying.

Would she see her mother after she died?

Little Moony was dizzy. Suddenly, she uncontrollably fell to the ground. Lying quietly in the snow, she weakly opened her eyes to look at the full moon above her head.

Was Moon Goddess looking at her?

"Moon Goddess, can you please take me to meet my mother?"

However, a dark cloud came over and quickly covered the moon.

Little Moony felt her eyelids getting heavier, so she slowly closed her eyes.

Suddenly, a strange voice said, "Little Moony, focus on your spiritual consciousness! Use the mind link to ask your grandfather for help!"

Little Moony's consciousness was blurred, but she still did as the voice had said, focused on her spiritual consciousness, and called for help with the mind link.
