Chapter 4: Moving To Italy
AMANDA'S POV:
While calling Antonio, the phone rang about four times, just as I was about to hang up, he answered.
"Hello!" He said.
"Hey, It's Amanda. How are ya?" I replied.
"Great! And you?" He asked.
"I'm good. Just Chillin right now! What are you up to?" I said.
"Nothing, nothing at all." He mumbled.
Then he quickly asked me if I wanted to go to dinner with him. Of course, agreeing with him.
"I'll pick you up at 8:00." He said.
After we hung up, storming upstairs to get ready for the big date. After putting on my sexiest, open-shoulder top and a mini skirt, looking my best everything is falling into place. My life couldn't be any better.
Five minutes to eight o'clock, Antonio pulls up, honks the horn, and steps out of his car to greet me as I walk toward him. He opened the door for me, then he got in on the driver's side. We drove off.
While on our way to dinner, he asked me if I'd been to the Italian restaurant, "La Mangia?"
Looking over at him, "No. I've never even heard of it." I said.
"Good. That's where I'm taking you! You will love it there since you're an Italian buff." He laughed slightly and said, "Wait, you live here, and you have never been there?"
Chuckling, I said, "No." Antonio started to laugh and said, "well, there's a first for everything."
Arriving at the restaurant, my eyes were glued to the entrance of it. This place is beautiful and expensive. This restaurant even has a Maitre D'. I've never been treated like this before! Part of my mind can't even believe that I'm stepping foot inside this glamorous restaurant.
We walked inside the restaurant, my eyes still gleaming. This place is exquisite. It's hard to believe that I'm even here. We stood at the front of the restaurant and waited to be seated. Once the hostess walked us to our table and seated us, Antonio ordered a bottle of wine. At that moment, I thought, "Wow, I have never been treated to a dinner like this." The waiter poured our drinks while we looked at the menu.
ANTONIO'S POV:
"So, Amanda, what do you think of this place?" Antonio asked.
"Antonio, I love it. It is such a beautiful place!" I replied.
"I'm glad you like it," Antonio said.
"I do. I live here and I did not know of this place." I laughed.
"That surprises me." Antonio chuckled.
The first time I saw you at the café when you bumped into me, I couldn't stop thinking about you. You're a beautiful woman, I'm glad we are here on our first real date!
I even thought about staying here a little bit longer just to be with you and I know this sounds crazy to you, but I cannot help it. This is just how I am feeling about you.
AMANDA'S POV:
Antonio, what you just told me, I'm having the same thoughts about you! My heart flutters every time you are around me. That moment you walked into the cafe, my eyes were glued to you. You instantly caught my eye, and from then on, all I thought about was you. Then the day after, I made it a point to just go to the café just to see if you were going to be there. My nerves were through the roof while walking past you. The excitement that I felt when you said hi to me, made my day!
I'm going to be honest with you because honesty is the best policy. I fell in love with you, barely even knowing you. "Could this be love-at-first-sight?" Whispering to Antonio. Antonio sits here listening to these words coming from my mouth with all smiles. These feelings that I'm having are more than just a friend feeling. You're on my mind constantly.
Antonio sits here with his arm resting on the table and his hand below his chin, it seems to me that he is in deep thought about something.
"Should I tell him about the phone call? Should I tell him that I've decided to take a job in Italy?" As these things popped into my head, I decided to tell him some other time. This night is just so perfect to me, nothing will mess this up.
As we sit here, Antonio is still quietly in deep thought. It seems to me that he is engrossed in his thoughts, figuring this must be important to him.
"Antonio, hey Antonio, what are you thinking about?" Asking him softly.
"Oh, sorry. Nothing." Antonio replies.
No sooner, our food arrives. The spaghetti and meatballs that are on my plate couldn't be put together any better, the spaghetti surrounds the plate with two meatballs lying on top of the spaghetti directly in the middle. The smell of their sauce is to die for!
After we finished eating, Antonio called the waiter over and asked for the bill. I couldn't even imagine what this bill would be, especially because this restaurant is exquisite. When the waiter brought the bill, Antonio laid two one-hundred-dollar bills on the receipt. My eyes suddenly became so wide open that I'm sure he noticed the look on my face.
I'm astounded because he left the rest for a tip.
Nearly Ten O'clock and we must leave. We both work early in the morning. On our way home, Antonio expressed how he had a great time tonight, and he wants to do this again before he goes back to Italy. Glaring at him, I expressed that I'd love to go on another date before he leaves.
He dropped me off at home, he steps out of his car, walks over to my side of the car, opens the door, and helps me out. When I stood up close to him, he kissed my cheek. Standing there still, I kissed him on his cheek, then I went inside the house.
The rest of the night, all my thoughts were, "I'm going to have to tell him about my move to Italy." First, I'm going to tell Mel, she will be so happy for me!
