CHAPTER 3 Execution
Amelia's POV
Elijah throttled my hand as if he was throttling a cigarette.
I winced in pain, "I, Amelia Green of the Blue Moon Pack, accept your rejection..."
He freed my hand and before I could see if my hand was okay, he kicked me hard and eyed the guards to take me away.
I was thrown into the dungeon and tortured day and night by the guards who would beat me up and hardly give me any food. They had me chained by a silver chain inside one of the prisons in the dungeon. The hope of living started extinguishing and I would often screech them to just kill me instead of giving me a painful death.
It had been three days of torture and I could already feel I was losing the battle against my enemies. I was growing feeble and when I started to see burning patches developing on my skin, I understood that they were spiking my food with wolfsbane in little quantities.
So, on day four, I decided to starve and that was when I kind of felt a bit relieved. My activity of striving for life was noticed by one of the guards. On finding the plate of food still untouched, he came inside. He swirled a knife from his pocket and dipping it inside a liquid that was wolfsbane, he slit my thighs. I screamed in pain and I thought today I was going to die when I saw darkness clouding my eyes.
I had been unconscious for hours. My dizzy state of weakness got broken by a sudden voice.
'Amelia, wake up, we need to escape!'
A soft voice motivating me to escape, just flipped my eyes open. When the entire Blue Moon Pack would look down at me with disgust, who was this person who was prompting me to escape? I could see no one around. The dungeon looked empty and I figured out that everyone was off for dinner.
It didn't take much time for me to figure out this soft voice when I could see my slender, feeble hands transitioning into furry ones.
Oh, Goddess! Did I just receive my wolf? I was thrilled that there was someone who was urging me to live.
My wolf said in my head, 'Amelia, this is the best time to escape,'
How could we escape from a locked prison? That was when my wolf assured me, 'Trust your wolf, Amelia. I have the ability to escape,'
Yes, my wolf was right and I allowed my wolf to take over my human body. Smoothly, my wolf transitioned into a giant grey-colored furry wolf. The sudden transition of my human body into a wolf was strong enough to break the chains of my hands and legs. Now was the time to break the lock of the prison with the least to no sound possible.
Sliding my paw outside, I turned the lock toward me and opened my jaw. I let my sharp teeth fiddle with the lock and it just took a few seconds to break it free. I got out of the prison and I knew where I should go to break free from this dungeon.
While I was slapped into this dungeon, I observed my surroundings and from the dungeon structure, I knew that turning to the left from the prison would lead me to freedom. With my four paws, I raced to the left to find the vertical ventilation shaft. Squeezing my furry body inside I raced through the long shaft and finally made it to the opening of the shaft.
I saw the Moon Goddess through my hazel green eyes and I thanked her for sending my wolf on time. I was glad that they had not locked me in the dungeon of the pack house or else the escape would be hard. Locking in the dungeon amidst the woods provided me a good chance to escape unnoticed.
I jumped off the vertical shaft and off I went deep into the woods toward my home. Never did I expect racing through the woods would be such a thrilling experience. My wolf appeared in my darkest time as a ray of light and I decided to name it Hope.
It hardly took much time to make it home all thanks to Hope. I got back to my human form and then started packing. Staying in the Blue Moon Pack was no longer safe and I would have to get away from there as soon as possible.
Hope asked me in my mind, 'Amelia, where will we go?'
While sprinting through the woods, I had already figured that out. While I was busy packing all the necessities, I said, "Human world, Hope. All this werewolf world has given me is torment and pain! I no longer wish to stay here. I would like to start a fresh life in the human world."
Instead of being happy, Hope was sad. She cautioned me, 'No! We can't go to human territory. Amelia, in order to go there we will have to cross the Lycan Kingdom!'
The mention of the Lycan Kingdom stopped my hands from packing my stuff. A sudden gush of fear surged within my body. Not just me but any werewolf would get scared on hearing about the Lycans. The Lycans and the Werewolves are the deadliest enemies. In the past, the Lycans and the werewolves fought a lot. Though I didn't witness those fights, the description of the aftermath of a fight would scare me out of my wits. It was only recently, the enmity between the two races settled owing to the peace agreement and if they find me, a werewolf in their kingdom, it would mean violation of the agreement and my death!
'Crossing the Lycan Kingdom is forbidden, Amelia,' Hope lamented in my head breaking me from the frozen state of fear.
I looked at the dark sky outside the small window and said to Hope, 'Being in this pack means death, Hope. Do you think we will be able to escape from the execution?'
Hope stood on her ground, 'I know but if we get caught by the Lycans, we might die the most humiliating and terrorizing death,'
I blew out a sigh and said, 'If we get caught, right? Hope, there are chances that nobody would notice us. If we escape in this dark night, there are chances, we will go unnoticed by the Lycans, and by morning, we will be living in a new and safe world, THE HUMAN WORLD!"
Hope did agree with me. Taking a gamble of crossing the Lycan Kingdom was worth and thus, without wasting a single second, I grabbed my bag, and off we went for our world of freedom, the human world.
