CHAPTER 3
"I can get along with your other wives, and will take good care of you," replied Liona.
Lucas smiled sharply. "You will have no rivals because they and I are divorced, however, you are not my taste."
Liona looked at herself, the almost faded colored jeans with a plain t-shirt were not appropriate to be side by side with the man in front of her.
Lucas turned around again, and the servant pushed his wheelchair.
Liona sat down because Lucas didn't seem interested in her. Bernadette heard the girl's words and approached her. "Liona, Lucas is famous for being a perfectionism. I think I can help change your appearance."
Liona turned to Bernadette. "Can I do it?" Liona didn't seem to believe in her privilege.
Bernadette invited the girl to live in a second house, which was separated from the main house. It's at the back near the park.
But Liona was confused because it was impossible to leave Alex alone in the hospital.
"Madam, do you think I can do it?" Liona asked.
"Of course, I know my son's taste. I'll make him like you very much."
Liona was silent for a moment. Her head was filled with questions, and Bernadette realized that.
"Liona, what makes you think. Is it because Lucas is paralyzed? Have you changed your mind?" Bernadette seems to like Liona at the first sight, but Bernadette was afraid that the girl will change her mind.
"Madam, can you lend me some money in advance?" Those words came out of Liona's mouth.
The middle-aged woman just liked Liona, but she didn't expect the girl only to ask for money. Bernadette then stood up and told Liona to leave.
"How dare you ask for money before you even marry my son? Well, all girls are the same and in their heads only money and money," Bernadette looked angry, and respectfully asked Liona to get out of the house.
Liona wanted to say the reason, but she didn't have time because Bernadette was already angry.
The girl came out of the luxurious house and felt very lonely. Tears welled up in her eyes as she stepped out of there. Lucas looked from the second floor, staring at the shabby girl earlier.
Bernadette looked disappointed, she also expressed her disappointment to Lucas.
The next day, Liona did not work and did not attend college.
The girl even drank water the whole day without eating anything to save money to take care of her brother. Her brother still hasn't received further treatment due to financial constraints.
Bernadette had a severe headache, she then went to the hospital in between by her maid. After receiving the prescription, Bernadette accidentally saw Liona. The girl was still wearing the clothes she wore yesterday.
Liona entered the room, where the girl sat beside a teenage boy's bed.
Seeing this scene, Bernadette asked her maid named Dave to find out why the girl was there.
It didn't take long for Dave to bring information back.
Bernadette was very surprised when she heard that the girl was waiting for her sick brother. However, the hospital has not taken any treatment because Liona has not been able to pay for the treatment.
Bernadette saw someone approaching Liona.
"Stop this annoying treatment, let Alex die instead of being tormented like this," said the woman who approached Liona. None other than Sarah.
"I'll even sell my organs to save my brother, go and be happy with my father. I won't bother and be a burden on your life anymore." Liona said in an almost trembling voice.
The gazes of everyone in the room were now looking at Sarah with an annoyed look. They seemed to want Sarah to leave the ward at once.
Liona looked out of there, the girl sat in a park crying. Bernadette approached Liona. The girl was surprised to see who was sitting next to her.
"Madam," said Liona. She wondered why there was Bernadette.
"Is this the reason you need money?" asked Bernadette.
Liona didn't seem to understand.
"I saw you looking after a teenage boy, and the hospital said you haven't made a payment,"
Liona bit her lower lip, but the tears just flowed.
"Did your family treat you like that before?" Bernadette speculated that Liona had been scolded by her family in the past.
"I will pay for all of your younger brother's treatment" Bernadette continued.
Hearing that Liona was surprised, why suddenly did Bernadette offer it? But it seemed that the middle-aged woman had her reasons.
"Madam, do you want me to do something?
Bernadette took a deep breath and then exhaled. "Marry Lucas, take care of him like you take care of your younger brother. I will help you become a woman Lucas will like," explained Bernadette.
Liona kept silent, and she didn't want to lose the opportunity for Alex.
Alex was transferred to the VIP room and was ready for his operation.
Bernadette covered all the costs of the operation and hospitalization.
They also hired someone to look after Alex, while Liona went with Bernadette to the second luxury house belonging to the Fernando family.
Lucas didn't even know that the girl was going to live there.
On the first day of Liona's learning to walk, her slender body made it easy for her to wear high heels. Even if it's her first time, Liona's perseverance can make her learn a lesson quickly.
Bernadette ordered tons of clothes directly from famous designers and even invited them home.
In addition, she also brought professional makeup to polish Liona's face. The girl's straight hair was now made wavier.
One week was spent by Liona studying like a real lady, after 21 years, she just wore jeans and lived in a boarding house.
Bernadette saw Lucas sitting in his wheelchair, next to the large window in his private library. "Lucas, someone wants to meet you,"
Lucas closed the book he was reading, then turned to his mother. A girl stepped into the library room.
Lucas looked from the feet up, the girl in the bright red dress and with wavy brown hair. Her green eyes added to her beauty.
