CHAPTER 4

Liona walked gracefully and put her hands between her waist. To be honest, this actually seemed like she just used all the things to beautify her body.

Lucas's surprised eyes upon Liona made him speechless as his tongue went numb. "Why are you looking like that, do I look strange?" Liona said seriously.

Lucas scored according to what he saw. For him, Liona wasn't too bad this time. But he didn't want to make the girl feel like she had the upper hand and chose to remain silent.

"Liona, let's sit down and eat together," said Bernadette.

"Bernadette, are we going to eat at the same table?" Lucas said.

"Of course, and Liona will join because she is a potential new member of the family," Bernadette explained.

Lucas rubbed his face, why did his mother look so rash to say such a thing?

Without Lucas' approval, Liona ended up living in the main house. She was given a luxurious room on the first floor.

Liona thought of Alex again. Although Alex was taken care of in the hospital by people hired by Bernadette.

And Liona didn't know how to repay Bernadette, so she decided to take good care of her son, the wheelchair man.

The man was reading a book beside the window of his luxurious house as usual. Liona walked over to Lucas and put on a knee-length dress with slightly wavy hair.

"Would you like some tea?" asked Liona.

Lucas looked up at the girl. He then glanced at the table beside him. And Liona understood that there was a cup of tea.

"Ah, apparently you are drinking tea. Would you like some milk then?"

"Do you think I should drink tea and milk at the same time?" Lucas glared at Liona.

Liona wanted to scratch Lucas when she heard his annoying tone.

Liona didn't come out of Lucas' room, she continued to be there even though Lucas didn't like her.

Liona could do nothing for Lucas because Lucas didn't want to see her, she can only clean the room, and now she was wiping a beautiful vase.

"Hey," Lucas said. A call made Liona startled and broke the vase she was holding.

The eyes of the man who had just spoken to him were now fixed on her. His fair face now looked red. "Liona!! what are you doing?" Lucas' voice was a little squeaky.

Liona heard the man say her name for the first time. But her blood seemed to tremble to indicate that this was not okay.

Fragments of the broken vase were scattered on the ground.

"Ah, Lucas, I'm sorry," Leona's voice shook with her body.

"I told you not to bother me, do you realize your presence here is not needed?" Lucas held his head.

"I will replace the same vase like this, please don't be angry like that"

Lucas seemed enraged at Leona's words. "Do you have money for this? Do you have a lot of money?" Lucas' question was more like an insult.

"How much does it cost?" Although considering that Lucas was very angry with her, Liona knew that this newly broken thing must be very expensive, she still forced herself to ask about its price.

"$400,000, and there's only one thing in the world. Then where are you going to get the same thing? When the only thing in the world is broken like that?" Lucas was aggressive against Liona.

Hearing the $400000, Leona almost shrank to the ground. She seemed to hear an unacceptable price. Leona was scared.

The quarrel made Bernadette come. "What happened, Lucas, Liona?" Bernadette stared at the broken vase fragments on the ground.

"Geez, what's wrong with Lovely," Bernadette seemed surprised too.

The expensive vase was Lucas' favorite item from 5 years ago, which he bought at a world auction and named Lovely.

"Bernadette, I'm sorry to break this vase," Liona said tremblingly.

Bernadette was also confused when she saw her son's furious reaction to this. "Lucas, I will find you a vase like this at this year's auction"

"Don't you know how I take care of Lovely, it's not just a vase" Lucas still looked angry.

Lucas wheeled out of the reading room. He was really angry when he turned his back on Liona and his mother.

Bernadette looked at the broken vase and then at Liona. "Liona, are you okay?"

Liona was crying, She didn't expect that Bernadette would ask her first instead of arguing with her about the vase with hundreds of dollars.

"Bernadette, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to, I will do anything to make Lucas not angry. I will risk everything,"

Hearing that, Bernadette knew that Liona would risk everything for her son.

"Liona I'm going to see Lucas, you go to your room and calm down."

After Leona saw Bernadette leave, she silently picked up all the vase fragments. Then Leona took the pieces to the room.

"What should I do now? My debt has not been paid off. Now my debt has increased fourfold. Am I destined to live in this house all my life?" Liona whispered, rubbing her eyes in confusion.

Throughout the night, Leona didn't sleep. Instead, she reassembled the pieces of the vase bit by bit.

Throughout the night, Leona didn't sleep. Instead, she reassembled the pieces of the vase bit by bit.

Liona knocked on Lucas' door.

Lucas thought it was his mother or servant, and answered, "come in,"

Liona held the vase carefully, covered by a plain white cloth.

Lucas was furious when he found the girl walking into his room. "Why are you here?"

"You asked me to come in," Liona answered innocently.

The girl opened the object she was carrying. Lucas frowned and asked, "What's this?"

"Your vase, I've reassembled it," replied Liona.

What she broke now looked more like a Halloween Pumpkin than a vase. Lucas looked at Leona's face and the 'pumpkin' in turn.

Hearing Lucas' roar, Bernadette hurried into the room. She saw Lucas scolding Liona all the way.

The girl put Lucas' vase on the bedside table and ran out.
