CHAPTER 7

"Who's Kate and why does Derik want to introduce her to me? I hope these naughty friends of mine are not trying to play matchmaking?" Ryan asked, eyeing the latest message in the group.

"Jeez, bro! They already gave up on you a long time ago. Kate is Derik's fiancee," Scott replied almost immediately.

Ryan turned to look at him with a visibly offended look. "What do you mean by already giving up on me?"

Scott chuckled and moved a few steps backwards cause Ryan was looking like he was ready to pounce on him. "What I mean is that since they tried to set you with numerous ladies many times and none of them was up to your liking, they gave up trying to find someone for you," He explained.

Ryan should feel relieved with his words but the mischievous twinkle in Scott's eyes made him feel suspicious.

"What's funny?"

"Brother... Are you by chance a gay?

Ryan's mouth flew open at Scott's question. "What!?," He exclaimed. Scott took a few more steps backwards again, prepared to flee.

"Hey... Don't look at me that way... It was Jeff that mentioned it and everyone has been suspicious of his claim trying to know if it's true," he hurriedly explained.

"Is that why Chris tried to set me with Amy? Was that all part of your plans?" Ryan asked incredulously.

Scott shook his head and denied, "Brother... I'm innocent. I don't know anything about it. I'm not involved in any of their plans..."

Ryan squinted his eyes at him angrily and Scott watched him curiously cause in the next moment, he began to type something furiously on his phone.

Scott hurriedly checked his phone when it vibrated with a message. His mouth flew open when he read the words that Ryan had sent.

He raised his head to protest but Ryan had already walked away. Before he could even follow him, his phone began to vibrate with multiple messages. The group completely erupted with messages following Ryan's message.

His phone even rang with a video call. He pressed the answer button and three familiar faces appeared.

"What does the king mean by that message!?," Gracie was the first person to question Scott. The king is Ryan's nickname on the app and it's also what they call him.

"Why are you mute!? Have you suddenly gone dumb!?," Gracie spoke again.

Scott narrowed his eyes at her and answered grumpily, "Jeff, I do not appreciate your wife calling me dumb." His words were directed to the brown-haired man sitting closely beside Gracie.

"Shut up... I'm older than you. You should show some respect and address me as your sister-in-law or sister," Gracie reprimanded him immediately.

"You are not my mother's daughter neither are you my brother's wife so why should I call you any of those?" Scott argued.

Jeff and the other man sitting beside Gracie exchanged a glance. These two always fight like cats and dogs whenever they see each other. It doesn't matter if it's a video call or real life, they would always find something to argue on.

"It's okay Gracie. Scott knows that you are older than him. He'll surely kowtow to you when next we meet," The man sitting beside Jeff and Gracie cut in their argument.

"I will do no such thing Nico," Scott refuted his words. "She is only a few months older than me so why should I accord her respect?"

"I will make sure you call me mother when next we meet for what you have just said... I was already talking as a cub when they gave birth to you. Do you know how small you were and how you were always crying for milk!?," Gracie responded.

Scott didn't find the childhood joke funny cause he also gave her a befitting reply, "I remember while growing up that your mother would always chase you around the pack trying to get you to put some clothes on but no, you really loved flaunting your small naked butt everywhere."

Gracie gasped dramatically. She looked like she wanted to slap Scott's face through the phone. Scott gave her a smug smile knowing he won.

Jeff's growl finally put a stop to their almost endless argument. Gracie looked at Jeff and smiled when she noticed the jealous look on his face.

Why wouldn't he be jealous when someone had just spoken of seeing his mate's butts when he had barely even known her? Nico couldn't hold his laughter in as he watched this scene.

They all seemed to have forgotten the main reason why they called. Jeff's scowl showed that he didn't find Scott's words funny at all.

"Babe... You know Scott has a bad memory... He's just spouting nonsense since that's the only thing his brain is filled with," Gracie tried to comfort Jeff.

Scott glared at her and his hands around the phone tightened. "Why did the king say that?" Jeff asked, momentarily ignoring Gracie who found his act childish and cute but she was also curious as to why Ryan had sent that message.

He barely even chats in the group except when he's called out and he would only respond when necessary, otherwise, he'd ignore.

Scott shrugged, "I don't know. I am just as surprised as you are."

"Don't you stay with him and see him every day? You should know why he said that," Gracie mumbled.

"Don't you have his contact? Why don't you call him and ask him?" Scott snapped. Nico rubbed in the face in frustration. There's no stopping their endless and continuous argument.

"Well... At least, he'd be attending the get-together this month. We can question him when he comes," Nico said.

"Yes... And I can introduce him to...," Gracie didn't get to complete her words cause Scott interrupted her rudely, "Don't even dare. Brother is a gay."

Gracie's eyes turned round like saucers and she gasped loudly at this discovery. Before she could ask any more questions, Scott ended the call.

"I should avoid her when I go to Jeff's...," He paused cause he'd already turned around to walk away when he saw Ryan standing in the doorway looking at him with an unreadable expression.

He gulped slightly in fear and thought, "Did he hear me when I told Gracie that he's gay!? Oh no! He'll kill me!".
