The wounded wolf.

Chapter 2

I got to my hostel and packed my books quickly into my bag because i knew I was going to need them the following day and the following day, I was probably going to be in a rush due to waking late.

You might ask me why I was so sure I'd wake up late. Well, here's why.

That particular day, I was so tired because the day had been hectic, going to class after class, lectures packed so close to each other with little time for eating and resting and annoying homework that I had to deal with.

But when i thought about it, it wasn't so bad. When I had started freshly at Vetals Moon, the timetable had been so tight that I was at the point of having a mental breakdown and I resented my stepmother each day for it.

As I lay on my bed, I had a flash back of the day I had recieved that shocking letter from the school. My stepmother had enrolled me without my consent saying I was a troublemaker who needed to be straightened out.

At first I had refused to leave and she had made the next few weeks unbearable for me, I thought I could manage to put up with it but she had another plan in mind for me.

When the resumption date came nearer, she forced me to pack all my things and I was driven forcefully to the school with the car.

I was dumped in front of Vetals Moon Academy Of Healers and stared at the magnificent buildings and just as I had felt tears approaching due to the fact that i lost the fight to stay in my father's home, I felt a little touch of hope and tried to cheer up.

"It might be better than home afterall." I said to myself and walked into the school staring at all the things I saw around.

After the registration, which was a rather long process that I felt should have been done before admitting me, I received my room number and made for the girls' hostel.

As i climbed the stairs, i ran into different girls who were excited about different things going on in their different lives.

"So I'm going to tell him today and I don't care what he thinks." A red haired girl said to her curly haired friend.

"I'm so lucky i didn't have to tell Brian anything, he already asked me out." The curly haired girl said.

"Oh woah! When!?"

"Please watch it." A girl i almost bumped into said rudely.

"I'm sorry." I said and bumped into another. I apologized immediately.

"Watch it ugly." She had said and walked past me.

I immediately summarized that there were probably a lot of mean people like my step mother and siblings in the world.

"I'm so sorry, I'm looking for room number 683." I said politely to a girl who had been trying to smoke.

I was pretty sure smoking wasn't allowed in the hostels but what could I do, i was just the new student.

"Ask someone else." She said and dropped the cigarette and stepped on it, killing the light before walking in to her room and it turned out the room she walked into was the very room I was looking for.

Room 683.

I walked to it and tried opening it but it was locked.

"Damn it." I whispered but immediately cautioned myself because i didn't want to use swear words like my sisters.

I had knocked on the door for hours but heard nothing but an occasional burst of giggles. Girls passing stared at me, some in pity and some in mockery. It was night when Lights off was announced that I heard the lock of the door turn. I was so angry that i stormed in but at the last moment, i managed to keep my cool.

"And that's funny?" I asked the moment I got in but the girl who opened it, just walked to her bed and laid on it.

Minutes later, I got into trouble because i was trying to unpack and the house mistress caught me.

It was a bad first day at the hostel.

Well, i wouldn't mention that compared to my first classes. The teachers were strict but still managed to condole the bullying I received from the other students.

I was bullied about everything from my looks to my clothes, to the shape of my body, to my hair and to my status as a wolf.

My first year had been really bad and choking. There were lots of dangerous tasks given by the teachers that had to deal with trust and I was at a disadvantage because i couldn't trust anyone. A ton of boys came just to play me so they could have more to mock me about but i gave none the opportunity. I was neither weak nor an Omega.

My years were filled with classes, homeworks, projects, nights in the woods, bullies everywhere and sorrow but somewhere along the line in my third year, I began to fit in.

I began to stand up for myself and it went really well.

Back to reality as i thought about it, i smiled. I had ended up making some good friends after all. It was my final year and it had come so fast. Vetals Moon had been a tough struggle but i had managed to make it unlike some others who couldn't make it.

"What are you doing in here? Wynter? There's a party!" Lyra said coming in just as i was about to fall asleep. I turned away from her.

"What party? Count me out." I said and the girls screamed which made me sit up. "What!?" I asked in alarm.

"It's final year! We're having our last class tomorrow and you want to be counted out of the party? Never. Get dressed up lady." Sunny said as she tickled me which resulted in my laughing uncontrollably.

I tried to decline again they forced me to it through words and actions like tickling.

"Alright.. Alright." I said and got out of bed.

"You really should spend the time left nicely. I can't believe you wanted out." Gracie said as she picked out her best dresses to choose from.

At the party, I was uncomfortable because everyone behaved recklessly, the girls were dancing with abandon and some were kissing and touching each other openly.

"Hello there. Didn't think I'd see you here." A guy said coming to me with his other friends. I felt uncomfortable as they surrounded and touched places like my waist, my shoulders, i tried to shrug them off but they continued touching me like it was the normal thing but the moment I felt a hand on my butt, I reacted angrily and they were so shocked and that gave me the time to leave.

"Disgusting." I muttered as I took a short cut back to the hostel. As I walked along the road, I noticed it was silent.

Then i heard some noise and shortly, something large jumped on me, i fell to the ground but stood immediately in fear. It was a large wolf and it seemed like hitting me had been the last straw for it.

I watched as a pool of blood spread fast around it's smooth gray fur. I bent to it and saw it was barely breathing then I heard shouting.

"We're killing that damn wolf today! Find him!"

I didn't need anyone to tell me.

I knew that this was the wolf they were looking for and a debate ensued in me.

Running or helping.
