Chapter 1 Pregnant with the Unconscious Husband's Child
"Carlos Murphy, let's get a divorce!"
Angela Parker stared at the man in front of her. He was in a dark suit and trench coat, radiating a cold vibe. He had that natural arrogance as he spoke seriously.
Leaning on a gold-capped cane, his handsome face was icy.
The man was none other than Carlos, the heir of the super-billionaire Murphy family.
Hearing Angela's words, Carlos questioned, "While I was unconscious, did you get pregnant with my child?"
Angela was startled, feeling guilty as she replied, "No."
"Are you sure?"
Carlos coldly snorted, clearly not believing her.
Angela also felt a sharp gaze piercing through her.
His deep, cold eyes sent a chill through her, like a knife slicing her fragile body, leaving her shivering.
She trembled, stepping back cautiously. "I really didn't."
Carlos, expressionless, bent over with his arms on either side of her, coldly threatening, "You better not be lying. If I find out you are, you'll wish you were dead."
"Mr. Murphy, with your status, I would never lie to you. You wanted to sign the divorce agreement, right? Let's do it!"
"Fine," Carlos replied coldly.
Hearing his agreement, Angela felt deeply saddened. She never thought she would end up divorcing Carlos.
Carlos was the heir of The Murphy family and also the first son of The Murphy family. Everyone knew that he would eventually take over The Murphy family and his status would change from heir to billionaire.
Carlos not only had wealth, but he was also exceptionally handsome and very attractive. Many women liked Carlos, but he had never been married.
Originally, Angela had no connection with Carlos.
However, two years ago, Carlos suddenly had a car accident. In that extremely tragic accident, seemingly designed by someone, Carlos fell into a coma and has not woken up since.
To prevent Carlos from dying in a coma and leaving The Murphy family without an heir, Carlos's mother announced that whoever could give birth to Carlos's child would receive a substantial sum of money.
At that time, Angela's father had a business failure, and the family lacked a large sum of money. Without this money, her father would be sent to prison.
To save her father and family, Angela chose to marry the comatose Carlos and become his wife.
Upon arriving at The Murphy family, she received a substantial amount of money, alleviating the family crisis.
However, due to Carlos's coma, it was very difficult for her to conceive his child.
Over the past two years, she had tried various methods to stimulate Carlos, simply to have intercourse with him successfully.
But because Carlos remained unconscious, she had been unsuccessful.
Two months ago, Carlos suddenly woke up.
Angela had hoped to live happily with Carlos and fulfill her mission, but Carlos detested her and refused to see her.
His goal was simple: to divorce Angela.
Because he deeply loves another person, he wants to marry the person he loves, so he doesn't want to be with Angela.
Due to Carlos being attractive, wealthy, and charming, Angela wouldn't have agreed to the divorce under normal circumstances.
She valued emotions more and had married Carlos for her parents and family.
Now that her parents and her family's problems had been alleviated, she no longer needed to stay by Carlos's side.
Carlos still had his beloved in mind. In any case, Angela had to leave.
But fate had other plans.
This morning, Angela received the results of a pregnancy test.
She was pregnant.
She was carrying Carlos's twins, the heirs to the billionaire Murphy family.
Carlos despises others interfering in his life, especially when he has a woman he loves. If he were to find out that Angela is pregnant with his child, Angela would surely meet a tragic end. It's possible that even her child would meet the same fate at the hands of Carlos.
So, Angela didn't dare tell Carlos the truth. She couldn't reveal she was carrying his children.
She decided to ask for a divorce.
Even though she had fallen in love with him, she still wanted a divorce.
It was not just for herself; it was mostly for her children.
Carlos looked at Angela's face, and he did not expect that Angela would take the initiative to ask for a divorce. Was Angela playing hard to get with him?
It was ridiculous; he couldn't be deceived by such tricks.
He detested such assertive women. but since they had been married once, he would grant her one request.
Carlos said indifferently, "I have already signed the divorce papers. Whatever request you have, feel free to make it, consider it a small compensation."
