Chapter 21
Sky got into the hotel and took the elevator up to his room. He took off his clothes quickly as he hopped into the shower.
At the speed of light, he had dried himself and was now putting on his clothes. He picked up his watch to check the time. It read 8:57 pm
"Shit!" He cursed under his breath as he struggled with his belt. He slid into his shoes and sprayed his cologne. He checked the wristwatch again before dashing out of the room.
He was running too late to exercise patience to use the elevator even though that would have been the better option, instead, he sprinted down the stairs.
His father was the only one sitting at the conference table when he arrived. Sky wiped his face with a handkerchief before approaching his father.
"Good evening Father," Sky voiced out when he was close enough.
Jonathan looked up from the newspaper he was reading and smiled. "You're right on time," he replied to his son's greetings.
"Come sit beside me, son," Jonathan said as he pulled out the chair underneath the table beside him. Sky went and sat as they both waited for the others. Sky took out his phone. A new message from Pixel came in. He didn't want to open it yet so he swiped the message away and went to check the recent update about any news on the Beleza exhibit.
"Beleza exhibit canceled due to host's undisclosed reasons. The embassy has removed Sky's agency from the list of hosts...."
His heart sank as he read the first lines. He couldn't go on to read the details of the news as he turned off his phone and placed it in his pocket.
The team members arrived, each taking turns to greet Sky and his father. They all took their seats afterward and there was an awkward silence that followed. Jonathan remained glued to his paper as if he hadn't just acknowledged them. The meeting couldn't start until he said so, so everyone fidgeted around including Sky.
"Gentlemen," Jonathan announced, setting aside the paper. "I've just concluded the business section, and let me tell you, numerous companies are on the rise daily. We must exert every effort to ensure none of them surpasses us."
The team members all nodded in unison "Yes sir." They chorused.
"You all know why we came here?" Jonathan asked but he didn't give them the podium to respond before he added. "These other companies think they can just wake up one morning and start their businesses without compensating the big cats that have been in this game for years."
"Tomorrow, other top companies will join us, However, we must formulate our unique plans, and establish them as the standards that others will have no choice but to agree to upon their arrival. Is that clear?"
They all nodded in approval.
"Good. Now let's begin..."
Sky couldn't be more glad that the meeting was finally over. It was the most monotonous gathering Sky had ever been. He barely got anything from the meeting as he dozed off at intervals. The only information he gathered from the meeting was that more people were coming to join them and it was going to be a crowd. His father was bent on making sure that their company stayed at the top.
Thankfully his father had been so engrossed in trying to pump his sales team up that he barely noticed him sleeping through most of the meeting.
Arriving at his room, he was taken aback to discover it unlocked. Initially, he thought that it had been one of the hotel cleaners who was cleaning up his room and left it unlocked, but when he got inside, he found that the room was untouched and was still the way he had left it.
He didn't want to jump to conclusions that someone else had access to his room because apart from the hotel workers, he was the only one who had the key.
He looked around the room for any cleaning equipment but there was nothing. He checked the bathroom and toilet even going to check the closet if there was any sign of a person but there was nothing. He wanted to phone the hotel immediately and lay a complaint but suddenly the door opened and Pixel strolled in majestically, with a glass of wine in hand.
Sky stood rooted to the spot. "Pixel?" He exclaimed when he finally regained his composure.
"What are you doing here?" He questioned.
"You're back already?" Pixel ignored his question as she went to the bed and laid down on it, graciously sipping from the glass of wine in hand.
"How did you even get in here?" Sky's anger was starting to set in. He was tired of pretending to be sorry for breaking up with her.
She took another sip from the glass and placed it down before removing her robe, revealing a generous amount of exposed skin. She was clad in a two-piece underwear set, the bra struggled to contain her ample breasts as she sensually removed it.
"Wh...what do you think you're doing?" Sky stammered upon seeing her bare body.
Smirking seductively, she responded, "I thought you might want a final taste of this before you leave," cupping her breasts in her hands.
Rising from the bed, she took another sip from the glass and slowly advanced towards Sky. He stood almost motionless as she delicately ran her hand across his chest.
She bent downward and loosened the strap on both hips that kept her panties intact. It slid down as she used her feet to kick it away. She brought her lips forward to Sky as he took them hungrily into his. He felt warm liquid pour into his mouth. It was the wine from Pixel's mouth, she hadn't swallowed it rather she had poured it in Sky's mouth. He swallowed the wine and went to kiss her hungrily.
He forgot every grievances he had against her at that point as he hurriedly unbuttoned his shirt and took it off. His hands found their way to her backside as he carried her onto the bed.
