The Funny Girl

Sarah was silent in her reverie, thinking about Lucian's honesty as a werewolf. Ever since they first met, she had felt something odd about the man. But she had never witnessed his transformation as a werewolf.

"Is he really a fantasy creature like what he said? Or is that just a lie? Werewolf? That sounds like a lie."

"Enough thinking about your escape, Sarah," Lucian broke Sarah's reverie suddenly.

Sarah was startled and looked Lucian straight in the eye, "I'm not thinking about anything, Mr. Lucian."

However, with his piercing gaze, Lucian could detect the anxiety plaguing Sarah's mind. "Never mind, don't lie. You're not good at lying. We should talk about other matters," Lucian said seriously.

Sarah nodded, waiting for Lucian to continue their conversation.

"Sarah, are you pregnant yet?"

Sarah was surprised by the sudden question. She examined herself, looking for signs of pregnancy. "I don't know, Sir. I've never checked."

Lucian grimly looked at Sarah, "You must confirm that immediately. It's been one month since I bought you, and you have to give birth to my child if you want to get out of this house. You remember, right? It's our deal."

"Before, you made me agree by force," Sarah retorted defensively.

"But, you already agreed, Sarah. You are already mine," Lucian threatened in a stern tone.

Sarah felt trapped in this situation. She felt that Lucian was controlling her life and forcing her to do things that did not follow her will.

"You must obey my orders, Sarah. Why do you constantly go against my wishes? I've told you many times, I'm a werewolf. And you have no choice, you must give birth to my child if you want to be free," Lucian said again.

However, Sarah could not accept her fate and felt marginalized in all this decision-making. She cried, feeling scared and not knowing what to do.

Lucian took Sarah's hand and looked at her sharply. "Sarah, don't make me angry. You must obey my orders. You must conceive and give birth to my child."

As the fragrant aroma of vegetable cooking wafted into the room, Lucian gave Sarah a sharp look, "Sarah, you must eat all of this," he said firmly, pointing to the various vegetable dishes that abounded on the dining table.

With a puzzled look on her face, Sarah looked at Lucian, "Why do I have to eat all these vegetables, sir?" she asked in a soft voice.

"You always ask!" Lucian replied in a raised voice, his face showing an insistent firmness. "Just do as I say!"

Sarah's face reflected deep confusion as she stared at the plate of vegetables before her. Her heart already felt how excessive the portions were. However, Lucian's orders were law to her; she could not defy them.

With a heavy heart, Sarah plucked a few pieces of greens from her plate. Each mouthful felt like a growing weight in her chest. Her eyes occasionally glanced at Lucian, looking for weaknesses in his orders, but found nothing but a dominating firmness.

Between mouthfuls, Sarah's mind drifted away. She mused about the power and independence she had to maintain under these circumstances. Yet, simultaneously, she felt trapped, caught in the space between ordered compliance and her own desires.

Through his gentle gaze, Lucian recognized the conflict in Sarah's heart. However, her desire to keep her authority firm was unwavering.

Silently, Sarah tried to finish the plate of vegetables that was shrinking. She knew that no matter how much she resisted, she would have to surrender to a power greater than herself.

Lucian nodded satisfactorily when the plate was almost empty, "Well, that's enough." He rose from his chair, leaving Sarah with mixed feelings.

Instantly, the room was silent. Sarah sat there, contemplating what it meant, as she asked the waiter, "Do you know why Mr. Lucian told me to eat so many vegetables?"

"I don't know, you should ask Mr. Lucian directly," said the waiter.

Sarah noticed the silence surrounding the courtyard while sweeping the large yard and created a visual image of the life around her. For a moment, her eyes caught a few bodyguards watching her closely.

"Why are there so many guards here?" she wondered.

In a tone full of concern, a servant interrupted her activities, "Sorry, madam. You shouldn't be doing something like this."

Still, a smile graced Sarah's face. "I just wanted to ease your burden," she replied.

The servant persisted, "I'm afraid Mr. Lucian would be angry if he found out you were out of the house like this."

"Why would he be angry?"

"Mr. Lucian might think you're trying to escape again," the servant explained worriedly.

However, Sarah shook her head confidently, "I have no such intentions. And look, so many guards are watching my every move."

Although the servant still looked doubtful, Sarah remained calm. She savored the moment around her, with a heart relieved by her decision to be there.

The maid took the broom from Sarah's hand, "My apologies ma'am. You must return to your room immediately before Lord Lucian gets angry."

"Very well," Sarah said.

Sarah had almost reached the house door when a voice called her from behind. A man, full of interest in his voice, asked about Mr. Lucian's whereabouts.

"Is Mr. Lucian home?" the man asked politely.

Sarah turned around and looked at the man kindly, "Mr. Lucian is inside. Please come in. I will serve you a drink."

The man followed Sarah's lead, still curious about her new presence, "Sorry, I just saw you now. Are you the new maid here?"

Sarah smiled, allowing a glimmer of mystery in her answer, "Let's just say so."

As Sarah invited the man in, she couldn't help but feel curious. There was something different about Sarah. Something that could not be described in words. The elegance and poise that radiated from her every move gave the impression that she was more than just a maid.

The man gazed around the room with unconcealed curiosity, searching for clues as to who the woman in front of him was. However, this house remained a mystery, and Sarah was like an unreachable figure to the curiosity that engulfed his mind.

"Tea or coffee?" asked Sarah, breaking his reverie.

"Coffee," he replied.

Sarah quickly went to the kitchen. Then, she returned to the living room. The man asked again about Lucian's whereabouts.

"Is Mr. Lucian here? What took him so long?"

Sarah tapped her forehead. She laughed and replied, "Sorry, I forgot to tell him. I'll get Mr. Lucian."

"Funny girl," he said.

"No need to call me," Lucian said.

He was suddenly in front of Sarah. Lucian looked very angry as he watched Sarah and the man laughing together. Lucian pulled Sarah roughly by the arm. He took Sarah into the room.
