Chapter 6

"If only you hadn't gotten pregnant, I wouldn't have a problem now!" he told me angrily.

I felt incomparable pain at that time. I don't know what sin I did to him to hurt me like this.

I also didn't want him to get me pregnant. No one would want to be with someone like him.

I want to slap him and make him see that I have a heart too. I'm not a stone and dumb to feel pain. I'm just a human, but why if he talks to me, I'm like an animal?

"You know you're overdoing it! I don't want to get pregnant either. No woman would want to endure this!" I said it emotionally.

"That's right. Why are you so dramatic?!" he frowned when he asked.

"You can leave if you want!" he added.

"What about our baby if I don't persevere?!" I asked firmly.

"You simply abort the child and forget you have a child," he replied arrogantly.

I couldn't keep silent about what he said. I could hardly breathe because of the pain I felt at that time. How could he say that to me?

He stormed out of the room and I was left alone. I sat on the bed, holding my stomach. I caressed it while my tears continued to fall.

"Baby, don't be sad. Maybe your dad is just tired. Let's understand him, okay?" I said crying.

I didn't realize that I fell asleep in bed and woke up when someone tapped me on the shoulder.

When I woke up, Ransom appeared in front of me with a frown. I couldn't help but stare at his whole face. He was handsome and if only he didn't have such a bad attitude, I wouldn't have a hard time loving him.

"Move to the sofa," he said seriously.

"Ahem can I just stay here?" I gently asked him.

"Don't you understand?!" he frowned when he asked.

"Ahm, yes I understand. I'm sorry," I answered as we moved to the sofa.

I saw him shake his head and lay down on his bed. I even heard his crisp breath and I just sighed.

"Goodnight," I said to him, but I didn't hear a response.

I just sighed and lay down on the sofa. I was used to his cold treatment of me so I didn't feel it too much. I didn't want to affect the child in my womb.

The next day I woke up and felt a headache. But I saw Ransom's messy bed. He left but didn't even put his bed away. I knew he did it on purpose.

I immediately got up despite my bad feeling. I fixed his bedsheets and blankets. I knew he would get angry if I didn't clean the room. Hearing his hurtful words was tiring, so I did everything to make the room clean.

I also cleaned the bathroom and changed the curtains hanging on the window. But suddenly I felt dizzy, so I was clinging to the window.

"God..."

Suddenly, my stomach hurt so much and I fell. My eyes widened when I saw the blood on my thigh.

The door opened and I saw Ransom, who was shocked to see me lying on the floor.

"What the fuck!:" I heard him say.

I don't know what happened next. I just found myself inside the cozy room.

His mother's frowning face appeared in front of me. I took a deep breath and apologized to her.

"Didn't I tell you to take care of our grandson?!" he said to me angrily.

"Camilla, your pregnancy is not a game. Why are you stubborn?!" he added.

I couldn't stop crying when I remembered what Ransom did to me. The hurtful words he said to me. If only they knew the truth.

"Forgive me, Mom. How is baby? How is my son?" I asked hesitantly.

I felt a mixture of nervousness and worry at that time. I couldn't forgive myself when something bad happened to my son. And I couldn't forgive Ransom, even more, when that happened.

"Our grandchild almost died. It's a good thing Ransom took you to the hospital right away." his mother responded firmly.

"Thank God," I said, crying.

"I don't want this to happen again. I don't know what I can do to you if something happens to my grandson, so please be careful with your pregnancy," Mom responded seriously.

Ransom suddenly came in with my mother. Immediately mother came and hugged me. Her eyes were full of concern while looking at me.

"What happened, Mila?" he asked worriedly.

"I guess I'm too tired, mom," I answered softly.

"If only your daughter wasn't stubborn. That wouldn't have happened, "Ransom's mother insisted.

"I already told her not to do chores at home. We have a maid, but she likes to take on other people's work. She doesn't even think about the child in her womb," he added.

"That's disrespectful, Mrs. Crosby. But why do you seem to blame my daughter for what happened?" My mother asked firmly.

"It's my fault, mother," I admitted because I didn't want them to argue.

Ransom suddenly came in and we both looked at him. He noticed the hot tension between our mothers.

"What's going on here?" he asked seriously.

"Nothing, son. We just have a misunderstanding," his mother answered.

"Okay, the doctor said Camilla can go home tomorrow," he said seriously.

He didn't even look at me and I just sighed. Is this man's heart this hard?

"Mrs. Crosby, I will take care of my daughter in our house. Don't worry we will not deprive your Grandchild," the mother volunteered.

I was surprised by what my mother said and I did not agree with it. Ransom's mother also did not agree.

"It's not possible. What will other people say?!" his mother protested.

"Yes, mom. I'm fine at the mansion. Maybe I'm just too stubborn. I'm not used to not having any work to do." I convinced my mother.

I heard my mother sigh and seemed to hesitate to believe me. But soon she also agreed with me.

"Promise me first that you will take care of yourself. I don't want to get you tired, Mila," the mother said gently.

"Promise, Mother," I replied.

The next day, the doctor allowed us to go home. Mother begged me to accompany her to the mansion, at least for a day. Ransom's parents agreed and I was very happy.

I was also able to rest for a few days from housework. Ransom's behavior in front of my mother was also good. I couldn't help but wish that everything I was seeing was real.

But the day came when mom needed to go home. I was very sad, but I didn't show it to her. I didn't want her to worry, but I also couldn't help feeling scared. I knew I would go back to what I was before with my husband and I was scared for my child.

"Take care always, Mila. Just call me when you need something, okay?"Mom said gently.

"Ransom, thank you very much for taking care of my daughter," she thanked me sincerely.

My true situation with Ransom is unknown to her. But I have to be strong and continue pretending for the sake of our baby.

After mom left, I gazed at the car, and then I looked at Ransom. He was looking at me seriously and I tried to smile at him. I couldn't avoid feeling a mixture of nervousness and fear while waiting for what he had to say.
