Chapter 7

In the midst of the pandemonium, a woman's voice shattered the tense atmosphere, hurling accusations at me with desperate fervor. Alpha Henrick, swift and decisive, silenced her with a resounding slap. His piercing gaze then fixated on me, our eyes locking in a moment of intense connection. Little did I know, my nerves betrayed me, causing a slight tremor that I swiftly concealed. I had to tread cautiously, for these vampires possessed knowledge that remained veiled to me. Why did that woman claim I was deceiving the Alpha? How did she come to possess such information?

Seeking reassurance, I mustered a seductive tone as I questioned Alpha Henrick, "Do you lend credence to the woman's words, Alpha?" His response was resolute and unwavering, "No."

"Why should I believe her slander against you? Do you think I would place my trust in an adversary, Clara?" he calmly replied, his grip tightening around my hand. Though my inner turmoil threatened to consume me, I fought to maintain composure, unwilling to expose my vulnerability. There was more to this situation, and I had to navigate it with utmost caution.

The woman's laughter reverberated through the room, her accusatory finger pointing directly at Alpha Henrick. She always accused me of deceiving him, and I could no longer resist the urge to confront her, delivering a resounding slap across her face.

Alpha Henrick was taken aback by my audacious actions, but deep down, I knew he comprehended the wellspring of my anger. He leaned in closer, his breath mingling with mine, as he whispered, "Do you wish to take matters into your own hands?" In that moment, he presented me with a sword.

"Use it, Clara," he declared, his voice brimming with conviction.

My entire being trembled with a potent blend of fear and determination. Memories of the heinous murder he had committed against my parents flooded my mind. I tightly gripped the sword, locking eyes with him. The searing intensity in his gaze only stoked the flames of my anger and hatred. In my eyes, he was nothing short of a malevolent demon...

With the sword firmly in my grasp, a surge of power coursed through my veins, tempting me to end his life in that very moment. Yet, my true intentions remained veiled, concealed from him and all others. The enigma of my thoughts danced in the shadows, a mystery that only I held the key to. However, despite the overwhelming desire to extinguish the lives of these two vampires, I found myself unable to succumb to such a ruthless act without a fair fight, one witnessed by the watchful eyes of the wolves.

"This is not the path I yearn for, Alpha," I spoke, my voice resonating with unwavering determination.

Curiosity gleamed in his eyes as he inquired, "What is it that you truly desire, Clara?"

A solemn expression settled upon my face as I responded, my tone laced with seriousness, "I crave a fair fight."

Perplexed, he pressed further, "What do you mean by that?"

With unwavering authority, I commanded, "Release them one by one, so that I may confront them on equal grounds, Alpha."

The room fell silent, a hush descending upon us as the wolves encircling us instinctively made way for our impending clash. Alpha Henrick hesitated, unsure of whether to grant my request. But I stood my ground, eager to prove myself once more, to show that I was one of them, one of the mighty wolves.

"Are you sure about this, Clara? I don't want to see you hurt," he voiced his concern.

"Do you doubt my fighting skills, Alpha?" I retorted with a hint of sarcasm.

"I will not be defeated, Alpha. I refuse to be defeated!" I declared firmly.

He gasped in astonishment, unable to resist my commanding presence. The space they cleared for us was vast, providing ample room for our battle. As they released the vampire woman, a proud smile graced her face as our eyes locked. Taking a deep breath, I prepared myself for the imminent attack.

Having triumphed in countless boxing matches before, this was a new challenge for me. I couldn't rely solely on my fists this time. My opponent was no ordinary human, so I had to tap into my own supernatural abilities. Embracing my identity as a wolf, I knew I had to think and fight like one.

She launched the first assault, but I swiftly dodged her strike. Seizing the opportunity, I retaliated with a swift blow to her side, inflicting an injury. Writhing in pain, she became vulnerable, allowing me to unleash a series of relentless attacks.

With a sarcastic smile, I once again clawed at her face, drawing blood. A forceful punch to her stomach followed, and I tightened my grip around her neck, lifting her off the ground.

"All of you shall witness the end of this woman!" I declared, determined to bring her life to an end.

For the second time, I felt an unfamiliar surge of strength coursing through me. The wolves observed our battle, applauding in approval. Alpha Henrick rose from his seat, his expression a mix of concern and admiration. Raising both fists triumphantly, I claimed my victory. However, my fight was far from over...

A second vampire was set free, and she wasted no time in charging towards me. Caught off guard, I winced in pain as her scratch landed on my cheek. Glancing at Alpha Henrick, I could see a flicker of concern etched on his face.

Undeterred, I retaliated with full confidence in my abilities. But she moved with astonishing speed, effortlessly evading my every attack. The crowd fell silent, their eyes fixated on our intense confrontation.

I reminded myself that I couldn't allow myself to be defeated. This woman had to face the consequences for the harm she had caused me, in the eyes of the Alpha. So, I let her continue her assault, carefully studying her every move. I dodged her punches and scratches to the best of my ability, patiently waiting for the perfect opportunity. And when it finally presented itself, I sank my teeth into her exposed back. A scream escaped her lips as I asserted my dominance.

The impact of my blow shattered the wall on the other side, leaving the vampire woman lifeless and covered in blood. The room fell into a stunned silence, everyone in awe of what I had just accomplished.

After a few moments, the applause erupted, acknowledging my victory in the match. Alpha Henrick approached me with a smile on his face, ready to congratulate me.

"Absolutely incredible! I knew I made the right choice in selecting you as my mate," he exclaimed.
