Chapter 2: Her Strange Gift.

We arrived at the Crescent Moon pack in the later hours of the day, it was just five hours to the pack. I was so unhappy to find myself in this place despite how beautiful the aura was. I was so bothered about my life. I thought I would become a medical doctor with my strange gifts but I don't think it would be feasible with this cold and domineering Alpha king. I wouldn't mind keeping my gifts to myself either. Well, I had accepted anything that came my way. Let me just assume that my life had been sold alongside.

I moved out of the car and surveyed every nook and corner of the pack as other werewolves of the pack spared me unlimited gazes. They were so surprised to see Alpha Damon With me- a stranger. I was sure that the rumor that Alpha Damon Was bringing a mate to the pack had been spread even before now.

" Welcome, my king" Serah, the pack doctor, approached us with crooked smiles. She wore a white dress and over her neck was a stethoscope. You could tell that she had been waiting for Alpha Damon impatiently with her gyrating body. There were also two ladies by her side who were probably her assistants.

" Beautiful, girl, welcome to our pack" Serah offered me her hand and I took it gladly even though I was not happy to be there. She seemed not to be happy as well and her reasons were dark to see.

" How is he? Hope he is responding to treatment?" Alpha Damon cut in.

" The situation now is worse, my king. The illness has started to affect his brain and I am afraid of what can happen" Serah said with concern before she cleaned up the drop of tears on her cheeks.

I felt sympathy for the doctor. She looks so responsible and friendly from her first approach. Her trembling voice tells that what she was talking about meant a lot to her. It was a thing of shame for a pack doctor not to be able to ill a sick person in her pack so I understood why she was so emotional at this point.

" I think we should transfer him to foreign packs for treatment else we lose him" Serah added, finally letting out her tears. She did not mind appearing emotional and weak before me.

" No, he will be fine, let's continue to hope the moon goddess will heal him" Alpha Damoninterjected with his baritone voice.

Alpha Damon Walked past Serah towards his mansion while I took surveying steps behind him. One thing Alpha Damon Hated was tears. He hates tears because he believes that tears aren't meant for wolves especially when she is a prominent figure in the pack. Serah's tears were a thing he hated, I could see the hatred and pain roaring in his eyes as he walked in more or less like running to his mansion.

Moreover, Serah was bemused over Alpha Damon's response. I guessed that was not the first time Serah would ask him to take the patient to foreign packs but it seemed Alpha Damon was turning deaf ears to her request. Alpha Damon would never adhere to her request, I was sure of it.

Foreign packs had the equipment for medical operations. They also had well-trained wolves who were medically relevant like me. The disadvantage of transferring a patient from one pack to the foreign pack was that any pack that doesn't register under the foreign packs would not be attended to. Apart from that, the foreign packs requested huge sums of money before they could start the operation.

In most cases, local packs like the Crescent Moon pack would never register under any foreign pack because any pack that registers under the foreign packs was considered a weak pack. Perhaps, the foreign packs would not attend to any pack members who were not registered under them because they feel that such local packs are enough to get rid of the illness.

This doesn't have anything to do with richness. If the health insurance of a pack was determined by its richness then the Crescent Moon pack would be among the Apex of all packs in the country. Everybody knows that Alpha Damonwas a billionaire who could buy the moon with his money but he lacks knowledge about health insurance. These people were called foreign packs because of their accents and skin color.

Let me tell you that my father died after suffering from a rare sickness. We should have transferred him to the foreign packs for treatment but the Alpha of our pack insisted that he was not going to register under the foreign packs. We tried all we could and also provided the medications we knew but unfortunately, we lost him.

This brings tears to my face anytime this poignant memory runs through my mind. The death of my father had created a gash in my heart which would be rare to cure. His last words to me always hammer out of my mind anytime I encounter a situation like this. One day my father told me that life is a place where problems hit humanity out of race but there would always be a superhero who would come to fix it. He used to tell me this until he gave up the ghost.

I didn't understand him at first until I finished nursing school before I knew what he was talking about. I have a strange gift. I could heal any form of illness - anyone at all. I was so unfortunate to discover this rare gift after the death of my father. I discovered this on a day when my boyfriend, Alpha Dante of the Moonlight pack was stuck with a strange disease.

Alpha Dante was the only thing left for me after the demise of my father. He was struck with a disease that reduces his strength day by day. Of course, he was a young Alpha who was trying to build his little pack. It wouldn't make any sense to hear that Alpha Dante registered under the foreign packs just immediately after his father handed them over to him. Alpha Dante tried all he could to cure himself of being a medical student but it got worse daily. Alpha Dante chose death over submission, he chose to manage the disease until death comes.

One day, just one day, I healed Alpha Dante unknowingly with my strange gift after seeking a lot of ways to get money for his treatment. I thought I had done Alpha Dante a favor, little did I know that he was going to break my heart. He left me after he discovered what sacrifices I made just to gather money for his treatment. He said it doesn't matter what it is, he prefers to die than what I did. I saw it as an act of kindness backed up with love but he saw it as a promiscuous act. Let me stop here so that you would not be carried away with my heart-wrenching past - a topic for another time.
