Chapter 7 After a Year

As months passed, little Ethan's first birthday approached with sweet anticipation. Darrian couldn't believe how fast time had passed since discovering his son. Ethan became his heart and soul. The mysterious circumstances surrounding Hannah's disappearance and her death still weighed heavy on his mind, but he was determined to give Ethan a celebration he would cherish forever.

The day dawned bright and sunny, filling the air with joy and excitement. Darrian's entire family and friends had gathered at his spacious estate in Seol, eager to celebrate this special milestone. The house echoed with laughter and warmth as friends and loved ones joined the festivities.

Grandfather, who was fond of little Ethan, put his heart and soul into creating a wonderland experience for the toddler. He transformed the backyard into a magical carnival with a colourful carousel, bouncy castles, and a lively petting zoo. Balloons of every colour adorned every corner, swaying with the gentle breeze.

The aroma of delicious food wafted through the air, tempting everyone's taste buds. The tables were adorned with various delectable treats, from finger foods to decadent desserts. Darrian had spared no expense to ensure everyone was well-fed and enjoying themselves. Yet his mind wandered to his little boy’s mom. Only if she were here would they have a complete family.

As the day unfolded, laughter filled the air as children squealed with delight, their innocence shining through joyful play. Dressed in a tiny striped suit, Ethan shuffled around with his newfound walking skills, his bright eyes full of wonder.

Darrian couldn't help but marvel at the happiness that filled the space. It was as if time stood still, allowing this moment to be etched in their memories forever. The worries and uncertainties melted away, replaced by the joy of celebrating Ethan's first year of life.

Throughout the day, Darrian caught glimpses of his family's beaming faces, their eyes sparkling with love for Ethan. His heart swelled with pride, knowing he had created a safe and warm environment for his son to grow up in, surrounded by a loving support system.

The celebration entered its final phase as the golden sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow over the festivities. Darrian gathered everyone around a beautifully decorated cake adorned with a single candle glowing with the promise of a bright future.

With a calm room, Darrian leaned down and helped Ethan blow out the candle, a collective cheer erupting from the crowd. The flickering flame disappeared in a puff of smoke, carrying away past worries and leaving only hope for the future.

The night was filled with laughter, music, and dancing. Darrian watched as his son was passed from one loving family member to another, feeling a sense of gratitude wash over him. Ethan had brought his fractured family back together, reminding them of the power of love and forgiveness.

Darrian stole a moment to gaze at the starry sky as the party wound down. In that quiet stillness, he couldn't help but wonder what the future held for him and Hannah. Deep down, Darrian hoped their paths would cross again, if not in this life, maybe in the next, and he silently promised himself that he would never stop searching until he found her. He did not see her dead body. Without a dead body, there is still hope that she is alive.

With his heart filled with renewed determination, Darrian turned his attention back to the celebration, ready to embrace the unknown and cherish every precious moment with his son. As the laughter and music swirled around him, he couldn't shake the feeling that the best was yet to come.

The story of Hannah and Darrian was far from over, and the chapters yet to be written held the promise of answers, healing, and a love that would defy all odds.

Hannah found solace in her tiny cottage in the English countryside. The grief for her lost fri still lingered in her heart, a constant ache that she knew would never entirely disappear. But life continued to move forward, and she had to find the strength to carry on for her children. They should have birthday celebrations together since the three babies were born on the same day.

Hannah busied herself with preparations for her twin's birthday. She wanted to create a joyful celebration filled with love and laughter, so she carefully selected a variety of colourful clothes and toys, hoping they would bring comfort and happiness to the children and herself.

With trembling hands, Hannah placed a tiny party hat on the teddy bear for Sasha’s son. It was her way of including him in the celebration, a gentle reminder that he was still with them in spirit.

Hannah invited a few of her closest friends and trusted staff to Rebecca's and Rayner’s birthday party. She didn't want a big party with extravagant decorations or loud music. Instead, she desired a quiet gathering, a chance to cherish the precious moments with those closest to her.

The living room was transformed into a haven of warmth and love. Balloons adorned the walls, and a beautiful cake with delicate pink frosting and sprinkles sat in the centre. The air was filled with the sweet scent of homemade treats.

As Rebecca and Rayner blew out their candles, Hannah couldn't help but reflect on the passage of time. Her twins were growing before her eyes, a constant source of joy and love amidst the darkness that plagued her.

Hannah's friends and staff gathered around her, offering their support and understanding. They showered the twins with presents, their expressions filled with genuine affection. It reminded Hannah that she was not alone and had a network of good people who cared deeply about her and her children.

Even if it felt bittersweet, Hannah allowed herself to smile and laugh throughout the day. She savoured each moment, aware of the fragility of life and the need to find happiness amidst the trials.

As the party drew to a close, Hannah tucked her exhausted twin into bed, her heart heavy with a mixture of sadness and gratitude. She whispered words of love and kissed her children’s forehead, promising always to protect and cherish them.

Alone in her room, Hannah's thoughts drifted to Darrian. She wondered what he was doing if he ever thought of her and their children. Deep down, she still longed for answers and closure, but she understood that sometimes life had a way of keeping us apart.

Hannah closed her eyes with a heavy sigh, allowing sleep to claim her weary body. Tomorrow would bring a new day and chapter in their lives, and she would face it with strength and determination for her children's sake and her own.
