Chapter 8: Two sides of Lawrence

Lawrence's POV

Justine glared at her phone, knowing it was an unknown caller. She groaned, "Who are you? Why do I have to explain my marriage to someone like you? I don't know you!" she shouted, throwing her phone to the floor, destroying it. I laughed and gave her a defiant look before shrugging and lying down in bed.

Ignoring her, I decided to annoy her further, as she had already irritated me. I am still fucking mad because of those two. "Acting like you don't have a lover, huh? Don't tell me he's poor, that's why you dumped me and chose someone like me?

What a cunning person you are," I said coldly, determined to make her feel worthless.

She didn't respond, instead placing two pillows in the middle of the bed and lying down on the right side, turning her back to me. Justine lost her temper at the caller, but I stopped teasing her and simply stared at the ceiling for minutes and hours.

I sense as though my eyes were acting like a projector. I can visualize their intimate video on the ceiling and hear their moans near my ears. I keep hearing their schemes to deceive me and take away what rightfully belongs to my parents. Their plans even extend to betraying me and... ending my life.

Yes, they have considered that as well. They desire for me to perish so that Gianna can inherit everything. The two individuals I trusted the most have completely betrayed me, leaving me feeling desolate and sorrowful.

I shut my eyes, hoping to avoid any nightmares involving them. Unfortunately, my hopes were dashed. "Lawrence! Lawrence, wake up!"

I can see Jaxon and Gianna's faces mocking me, while others whisper about how foolish I am and how I perished because of them.

"Lawrence! I said wake up!" a woman bellows. I gasp as she slaps me, feeling the sting of her palm on my cheek.

Turning my head, I see Justine's concerned face gazing at me. She breathes a sigh of relief. "You're having a nightmare. Would you like some water? I have a bottle in my bag. Don't worry, I haven't opened it yet," she said.

Justine jumped off the bed and grabbed her bag, then handed me the bottled water. I got up, leaned against the headboard, took a sip, and breathed deeply. Before closing my eyes, I wished I wouldn't have nightmares about them, but fate has a sense of humor. I laughed and didn't mind when tears fell down my cheeks. I can't accept this.

"Justine, I know I shouldn't be showing how much this is affecting me, but I can't help it. It's okay to cry whenever you need to. I won't judge you or tell you to stop. I understand how painful it is to lose someone you trust, and how much it hurts when they betray you," Justine remarked.

I turned around to look at my wife's face. She appeared serious, yet her eyes were filled with sadness. I don't recognize the Justine who looked at me when we discussed the rules of our contract marriage. "You sound like someone who has been betrayed by the people they trust," I observe. She turns to me and holds my gaze.

"Do you think I would be okay with this side of you if I hadn't gone through the same thing? If no one had ever betrayed me."

I was surprised by her words. She seemed genuinely serious and sadness was evident on her face. I felt guilty about my behavior. I had even made fun of her while saying those words. "I'm sorry for being insensitive," I respond. Her brow furrows and I can tell she's surprised because I apologized, which is unusual for both of us.

"Well, apology accepted. By the way, I have a new rule for us. We can cry in front of each other whenever we're sad, mad, or happy. They say it's better to share your problems with strangers than with your best friend," Justine says.

That really made me laugh. We truly are strangers to each other, almost like a woman marrying her bully. "I'll remember that," I said in response.

"Let's head back to bed. It's already four in the morning and I'm still tired. We have a flight to catch tomorrow, right?" she reminded me.

I had almost forgotten about our flight to Switzerland the next day. My wife tapped my shoulder and returned to bed, taking the pillow between us and hugging it instead. I just lay down and ended up sleeping much more peacefully.

The next morning, I saw her leaving the bathroom wearing a robe and drying her hair. She looked stunning with that fresh post-bath look. She's not super skinny sexy, but not chubby either. Her brows furrowed and she glared at me.

"What are you staring at? I know I'm not sexy. You don't have to rub it in. Get up and freshen up. We have two hours before our flight," she remarked.

I simply nodded and jumped off the bed. I went straight into the bathroom and noticed her phone ringing on the sink. It was her grandmother calling. I decided to answer.

"Hello, grandma? It's me, your grandson-in-law. What can we do for you?" I ask. I hear her cheerful laughter and it makes me smile.

"Well, I'm at the restaurant in the hotel. I would like to have breakfast with both of you before your flight to Switzerland."

I open the cabinet and take a robe. "Wait for us. We'll arrive in fifteen minutes," I say before she hangs up.

I step into the shower without bothering to close the sliding door. As I start lathering shampoo into my hair, our eyes meet and my brow furrow. "WHAT THE FUCK!" she screams. She turns around, giving me a chance to see her tomato face flushed with shock and embarrassment. I laugh and decide to tease her.

"What? Are you scared now?" I tease.

As she is about to leave, I step out and grab her arms in one swift move, pulling her closer and forcing her to look into my eyes. She closes her eyes right away. I told her, "You have a choice: either open your eyes or I'll kiss you right here, and we'll do what we should've done last night."

She quickly opens her eyes and exclaims, "What?! How can you expect me to act like it's nothing? You're completely naked and—get off me!" I move closer, and she immediately covers her lips.

I end up biting her ear and licking it, which makes her moan in a cute way. "You brought this on yourself," I whisper.

I lift her chin and kiss her, forcing my tongue into her mouth and wrapping my hands tightly around her waist. Despite her struggles, I don't let her go, walking her down and pinning her against the wall. As we part, I see how she gasps, which turns me on.

Her blushing cheeks and the pleasure in her eyes are irresistible. I hold her cheeks and lean my forehead against hers, saying, "This is your fault. You seduced me with your arrogance."

I declined to give her another chance because I anticipated her talking back. I was pleased that the shower was on the ceiling, as it made the room warmer when I lowered her robe. As I kissed her neck, she became submissive, which worked in my favor.

I was taken aback when I noticed her nipples peaking through her robe - they were even cuter than I had expected. Her body became more erotic than I had imagined. I then pulled her robe lower.

"Damn!" I whispered, "They look delicious."

Her lips are agape. I move down and begin massaging her boobs, using my fingers to stimulate her inverted nipple. I suck the other one, making sure to leave a mark. I could hear her moan despite the fact that she was covering her lips.

"Uhn, don't—ahn!" She moans between her words.

I refused to listen, no matter how much she begged me. I'm horny this morning, possibly because I haven't had sex in months because my own fiancée has made excuses. I didn't even realize another man had tasted the girl I wanted to marry.

"Lawrence…" she says quietly. I was taken aback when I heard my name on her lips. I can't stop anymore.

I raise my head and rest my body against hers. "I can't hold back any longer, Justine. I want you..." I said honestly.
