CHAPTER 4
"Stay out of this, Jeremy," Amanda said as she stepped on Jeremy's path after he grabbed my hand and dragged me out of the toilet. "This is none of your business"
"The only person who will be staying out is your father," Jeremy fired back. "He'll be staying out of the pack. The Beta business won't be his anymore."
Amanda's eyes widened in shock as the words slapped her hard on the face. She opened her mouth, but she froze up and closed it gently.
"Let's go, Kayla." She stormed out of the toilet with Kayla following behind her like a homeless puppy.
"You shouldn't have let her attack you."
I shifted my gaze to the floor to hide the redness in my cheeks the instant Jeremy turned to me. It was such an honor to be saved by him. I meant I almost escaped getting killed, but what do I know? If only the whole school could hear of it, I would become a queen immediately and my enemies would grovel at my feet.
"You are not answering my questions, Amaya."
"Oh sorry." I converted the shock on my face to a smile and looked at him. He was just too beautiful, too appetizing.
"Do you want to tell me what happened between you and the girls in there?"
I shook my head. My reputation in the school was already bad as it was, besides it would cause issues in the pack.
"Do you need protection? I could get guards for you."
Of course not, Amanda had been begging for guards for years now and Jeremy was ready to assign me to them in the snap of a finger. I was surprised that he had suddenly become sweet. He was rude to me the other time.
"I'm concerned for you Amaya and I don't understand why you keep refusing my help."
"I'll be fine, Alpha Jeremy." I shrugged and forced a smile out of the corners of my mouth. "You don't need to worry about me."
"Are you sure?" Oh my gosh, someone is finally worrying about me, in all the years of my life.
"Yes, I am, Alpha."
"Very well then." He didn't look convinced by my words but he tapped my shoulders lightly and walked away.
I remained there, watching him head to the male toilet.
When I suddenly heard the main door of the toilet swing open in the distance, I heard a girl's voice.
"Guys, you won't believe what just happened. Guess what?"
"Sarah, don't waste our time. You know I hate guesses." Amanda snapped.
"Rumor's going around that Jeremy's coronation date is next week!"
My jaw almost dropped. What?
"But I thought he won't be crowned till like three months or so? Are you sure you know what you heard?"
"Loud and clear."
There was another brief silence, and with my heart in my mouth, I wondered what they were doing whilst hoping they didn't remember someone was there, and you could imagine my relief when they left, shutting the door behind them.
For a minute or so, I just sat there, not sure if I was just scared to move or if I was shocked by the news.
Classes for the rest of the day went by like a breeze. Aside from the students, chattering and gossiping away about the news, even the teachers were not left out and I wondered if Jeremy knew this.
If so, why would he ask me to be his girlfriend, knowing it was no use since he would find his mate soon? And the day of the coronation happened to be his birthday date.
By the time school was over, I had completely forgotten all about Jeremy, Kayla, and the rest as I was just bent on getting home and fixing dinner before my family got back.
However, just as I reached the entrance, I missed a foot Kayla threw in the way, and I could hear laughter from all sides as I dropped down on the floor after tripping over It.
"Why wear glasses if you still can't see? I swear, Amaya, it's bad enough your sight isn't as sharp as a werewolf's, but why are your glasses useless too?" Kayla snickered while I ground my teeth and pushed my glasses up my nose, ready to begin another long process of picking my books while people who had to leave the class at that moment, stepped on them without apologizing.
Suddenly, there was silence in the class, but I was just bent on picking up my books and leaving as fast as I could when I heard a voice behind me.
"Babe, are you okay?"
My blood ran cold hearing Jeremy's voice, and before I knew it, he was already kneeling next to me and helping me with my books.
"Please no... don't." In a panic, I started to whisper, feeling the eyes of the other student burning holes into us, but he silently insisted and even helped me up.
"You have to be more careful next time Babe. You know how precious you are to me." With that, he pushed some strands of hair away from my face and pushed my glasses up my nose before smiling at me.
That smile was capable of making my knees grow weak, but alas, I had a sick feeling in my stomach knowing Kayla was just standing there, watching us like a horror movie.
"Um… " Kayla suddenly laughed. "Is this some kind of a joke?"
"Come on. Let's go. I'll drop you off." If I wasn't already sure my heart was in the pit of my stomach, I would have smirked at the dropped jaw on Kayla's face as Jeremy wrapped his fingers around mine and pulled me out of the class.
The eyes of the students followed us as we left the class, but I was more bothered about the way Jeremy possessively wrapped his hand around my wrist. His palm felt coarse on my skin but it was warm and comforting. I didn't know when I subconsciously myself wrapped my fingers tighter around his.
"You're a weirdo." Jeremy began as we kept walking through the hallway. "You're always in trouble. Haven't you ever thought of standing up to Kayla?" He snickered at me, and all the warmness I felt in his hand waded off and I quickly pulled my hand out of his grip, ready to lash out at him when I met Jason's eyes.
He was putting some books in his locker when I noticed he was staring at me. My cheeks grew a bit red before Jeremy suddenly grabbed my hand. This time, much tighter - almost painful. Before he dragged me out of the hallways, Jason's eyes still following us.
"Stop dragging me like I'm some object," I snapped at him. "I can walk on my own. Thank you very much, Mr. Hercules."
He rolled his eyes and dragged me harder.
"I said you shouldn't drag me."
"You have a very sharp tongue for someone who can't fight back." He chided me.
We got out and I saw his new Rolls Royce parked in the school driveway, gleaming under the sunlight.
"Get in." He ordered and I rolled my eyes as he walked past me and got in, not even bothering to look at me.
After contemplating between just ignoring him and walking away, I noticed more students were outside… all eyes were on us. They were waiting to see what I would do.
Sighing deeply, I got into the car and banged the door, but Jeremy wasn't bothered by the fact that I wasn't speaking to him. He ignited the car and sped off.
"Why didn't you tell me?" I started off, furrowing my eyebrows. I hated that I was in this mess, and each time I thought about Kayla, that same nauseous feeling came to my stomach and I felt scared all over again.
"Tell you what?"
"That your coronation is next week. Barely six days from now. What are you playing at, Jeremy?"
"The date hasn't been confirmed," he answered casually. "But it's none of your business. We'll keep dating until I break up with you."
"I never agreed to that. We agreed that we would break once your coronation date approached us, and I think this is the best time." I paused to see how he was reacting to my words. "I'm surprised you can't handle Kayla for just a few days. Are you that scared of her?" I smirked, folded my arms, and rested my back.
"I really don't have to explain myself to you. Stick with the plan and once I become Alpha, I'll let you off. Here." He threw some books at me and I just glared at him in anger.
"My homework for the whole week. Put it in my locker by tomorrow morning."
"Yes sir," I said sarcastically, and when his eyes turned red, I turned around to hide my smile.
"And what's with you and Jason?"
"What are you talking about?" I asked innocently, “What about us?"
"There's this way he looks at you. Is there something I should know?"
"Even if there is something you should know, you and I are not dating and so it is none of your business."
Jeremy was taken aback by my words but he blinked the look of shock on his face away.
"Well, I tend to get possessive of things that are mine."
"But I am not yours, Jeremy."
"You are whatever I say you are, Amaya," he shouted, hardening his voice. "Stay away from Jason until we break up. You cannot be a bitch around me."
"What!"
"You can fuck Jason after I let you off."
My eyes almost rolled out of my head as the disgusting words settled into my ears.
"There's no difference between you and Kayla and the others," I said slowly. "You all are jerks."
"The truth hurts baby. Deal with it. Jason's nicer and much more gullible than me. It's obvious you can convince him to fuck you. Don't be a virgin and admit that's what you want."
I turn away and hide my reddened face. My biggest secret was that I was still a virgin at 17 while most girls already lost theirs around 16 and well, it was kind of shameful and awkward when people learn you'll soon be eighteen and you still have your V-card.
If Jeremy knew about this, I'm sure all hell would break loose because he'd certainly use my secret to his advantage.
The ride was silent till we got home and just as I muttered a goodbye and was about to leave, I was suddenly held back in my chair, and with a glare, I turned to his arm around mine before I looked straight at his eyes which were staring straight into mine now with a lustful intent.
"You won't kiss your boyfriend before you leave? You know I won't get to see your pretty face till tomorrow."
"Oh ha ha. Very funny. I'm not falling for your stupid trick again." I thought he'd let me go, but he suddenly took my glasses off.
"Hey!" I suddenly raised my hand to grab my glasses off his grip but he raised It up way out of my reach. "This isn't funny Jeremy. Give me back my glasses."
I got on my knees and tried pulling his arm down, getting irked by how he chuckled as he obviously enjoyed watching me struggle fruitlessly.
Suddenly, he grabbed my waist and pulled me closer and I reflexively held onto his shoulders to support my weight, only to realize I was straddling him.
I was straddling Jeremy Anthony in his car right outside of my house.
"Oh my gosh... I'm so sorry... I didn't realize I… " I was genuinely embarrassed and even grew redder when I felt his bulge down there pressed against my inner thighs as I made to move when he suddenly put down my glasses and grabbed my waist, pulling me closer with a smirk on his face.
"What are you sorry for? Aren't you my girlfriend?"
