CHAPTER 5
Jason's INTERVENTION
"I never accepted to be your girlfriend, Jeremy. It was just a mistake." I pulled away from him, his hands still grabbing my waist firmly.
"It can never be a mistake, dear. I love the way my wolf kicks inside of me whenever you come closer to me." Jeremy said, seductively licking his lips, his voice and his gesture making me drop some fluids down there.
I did not know why I was completely fallen for this arrogant scumbag. Jeremy seemed to possess me. I mean I shivered under his voice, not that I was scared of him, but I just found myself beneath his words. Maybe because he is a werewolf and I am human. And also, because the Alpha's blood flows through his veins.
"Amaya!" A familiar voice screeched from the upstairs. We lifted our heads in the direction of the voice. It was Aurora, my wicked stepmom, calling me at the top of the stairs.
Fear simmered in me as my gaze met with hers. I would be punished again for staying out after school with a guy, and I prayed it would not affect my dinner. She chuckled wickedly, her eyes not believing what she was seeing. But as I looked into her eyes from a distance and her gestures, I could tell that I was dead.
"Who the hell is he?" Aurora's voice screeches like the fingernails of a woman scratching against the chalkboard. If I was shivering before, now I was almost suffocating over her high-pitched voice.
"I am her boyfriend!" Jeremy responded, his voice bold and lethal. My body drooped immediately his response. What the hell? How could Jeremy say such a thing in the presence of my stepmom? He was the incoming Alpha of his pack and so?
Aurora grinned and pouted a wicked smirk on her face. She clapped her hands twice and moved inside annoyingly. She did not have a problem with Jeremy but me who brought him to our house. She must have gone to prepare a hell for me inside the house.
"How could you say such a thing to my mother? Moreover, you are not my boyfriend." I asked Jeremy, my voice shaking, and broken.
"Does your mom know me? How dare your mom shout at me in such a manner?" Jeremy asked, his voice streaming a mix of reactions on his face.
"Just go, Jeremy. Please, go" I screamed at him, rushing into the house as fast as I could. Maybe Aurora would hear whatever I had to say.
Just before I entered, Jeremy's car ignited and zoomed off. I bumped into the house and stumbled upon a huge figure in the sitting room, a cup of glass shattering into a million pieces after a collision. Jolting up my face was Jason, the incoming Alpha of my pack, wide-eyed in shock on his feet as well as me.
"Amaya! What are you doing here?" Jason asked, his eyes rolling in suspicion.
"I live here, Jason, I should be asking you instead," I said to him, still in shock to find him in my house.
Since my mother died, I had taken Aurora as my mother even as she treated me like craps. I still spared her that honor. No one could believe I was staying with Aurora and still faced bully in school. Aurora was the pack doctor who was very good at her work. She was well known in the pack and that was why Jason was so shocked to see me here. Jason could swear with his future heritage that I am the daughter of the popular Aurora who was bullied in school. No one knows I had a different mother from Aurora.
"What are you doing here?" I asked Jason, but just as my question landed, his eyes grew sour as if he would die if he responded. He muttered to what I could not understand before Aurora walked out of the room.
"What are you doing with my visitor? You have the guts to bring a brat to my house after school, and also fling around with my visitor." Aurora asked and gritted her teeth as she walked up to me with her hand in the air.
She resounded a hot slap on my face, and I found myself falling at her feet in disgrace before Jason. Aurora picked up a rod and was about to smack my head when Jason held her hand in the air, Serah, Aurora's daughter, walked into the scene.
"Please, spare her!" Jason said in a cool yet commanding voice, my gaze meeting Serah whose gaze was glaring daggers at me.
"What's going on here, Jason?" Serah walked up to us and asked, her nose creased in anger.
"I was just begging your mom on behalf of Amaya," Jason said and pulled me up on my feet.
"Don't tell me you even talk to this weak vessel in school, Jason! You are an incoming Alpha of the Moon Howler pack and you need highly esteemed people around you, not this shit." Serah said and was about to kick me in my face, but Jason stood in her way.
"Don't beat her, Serah, else I will get mad at you and your mom" Jason spoke lethally, my heart sinking, and fear engulfed me so tightly.
"Excuse me, Jason. Have you forgotten my role in this pack? Come on, don't breach my reputation before this dirty girl." Aurora blew hot at Jason, but Jason could not say anything other than to watch her with his mean Alpha's eyes.
Though Jason was the incoming Alpha of the Moon Howler pack, he must still give some respect to the pack doctor, Aurora, no matter how small it might be. Aurora had been the pack doctor ever since Jason was in his diapers till he grew up. Aurora and Jason's father, the Alpha of the pack, were on the same level.
"I am sorry, Aurora," Jason said and walked out of Aurora and her daughter, who were now opening their mouths in surprise.
"Make sure you don't beat her when I leave." Jason turned back at us and said calmly yet I could feel how big he meant his words. He slammed the door as he went out and left in a loud wince.
