CHAPTER 6

It was another day at school, I walked up to my classroom and sat down on a seat quietly in a way no one could sit near me, feeling a bit relieved.

I never knew Aurora could avoid beating me in a day, not until yesterday when I saw Jason in our house. I was going to school this morning, and I left freely without being slapped. In fact, when I was leaving, Aurora told me not to tell Jason anything about how she had been maltreating me for years.

Nevertheless, I was still wondering what Jason was doing in our house yesterday.

"Hey, boyfriend's snatcher." Kayla, Amanda, and three of the big she-wolves walked up to my front. I gasped, and my heart started beating more than normal.

Kayla held me by my hair and pulled me up from my seat while I struggled to get free from her grasp.

"I am not a boyfriend snatcher!" I grunted as I fought for my freedom, but I was not a nerd who could not know that all my efforts with two hands could not let me free from this wolf holding my hair.

"Do you think your beauty can fetch Jeremy? You failed, blonde." Kayla slapped my cheeks and said, the whole students laughing at me.

"How dare you think you can be mated to an Alpha? You are just a weak wolf who does not belong to this world."

"Please, let me go," I begged as the effect of Kayla on my hair was more painful than I could bear.

"Yesterday, Jeremy set you free from our den. Let's see who will set you free today." Kayla scoffed, and pushed me forward, her hand still grabbing my hair firmly.

"And for your information, Jeremy won't be coming to school today. He has a meeting with the pack elders ahead of his coronation." Amanda sneaked in through my left ear, the whole students in the classroom pulling tantrums out of me.

I was pushed to the girl's bathroom and I was about to be dipped into the pit toilet when a hand held Kayla's hand, Kayla grunting in pain, and screaming for her freedom. Amanda and others fled as Kayla's hand was grasped.

I saw Jason, the incoming Alpha of the Moon Howler pack, grasping Kayla's hand and pulling her by her hair leading her to the pit toilet.

"No, Jason! Please, let her go." I quickly stepped in, and held his hand. Though, my human strength could not stop him from dipping Kayla's head in the pit toilet, it made a move. But then, he stopped as I pronounced.

Kayla lifted her head and smirked angrily, cleaning up her bottom lip that had touched the ceramic pit with her hand.

"How dare you touch me? Have you forgotten that I am the incoming Luna of Jeremy's pack?" Karla asked her face growing battered.

"And so? How dare you lay your hands on my pack member?" Alpha Jason warned sternly and held me by my hand, about walking me out of the bathroom when Kayla stood on our way, her eyes scanning through Jason's face, which would look like she was trying to figure out something. As soon as she seemed to figure it out, as she shook her head with her index finger at the tip of her mouth, she asked,

"Wait, a minute. Are you not the incoming Alpha of the Howler Moon pack?"

"Yes, I am. What's wrong?" Jason asked, his face still frowning at her.

"I thought Aurora's daughter, Serah, was your mate? Have you fallen for this airhead too, like Jeremy?" Kayla asked, Jason's eyes brighter, and he released my hand, scoffing at me, yet, his face was disappointed as he knew I knew why he was in my house yesterday.

Kayla just said Jason is Serah's mate. Jason had never wanted to reveal this to me. I thought as much. I could see how Serah was glaring daggers at me the moment Jason asked them not to beat me. But also, he knew Jeremy was falling for me, and he seemed not to be happy about it. Unbelievably, I found myself being so guilty.

Who cares? Jason is not my boyfriend so why should I be guilty? He even has a mate already - more convictions to free this guilt.

"You should care about your mate, Jeremy, who is beginning to fall for Amaya." Jason crinkled his nose and said, Kayla, feeling a twinge of shame inside of her.

"Whatever!" Kayla pouted and shrugged out of the place while I and Jason watched her as she matched back to the classroom.

As soon as she was out of view, Jason turned to me, his eyes full of emotions as he looked at my eyes.

"Thanks for saving me," I said to Jason and was about to walk out of him when he pulled me back suddenly, resting my back on the wall, and leaned in close enough like he was about to kiss my lips. I could feel his strong breath as it swept my skin and I could tell how much he wanted me. He was so close to me that I lost my composure as I stared at his charming eyes.

"Is Aurora your real mom?" Jason asked, barely nose-to-nose with felt a kind of knot inside of me as Jason asked me. And I did not have what it took to lie to his face.

"No, she is my stepmom," I whispered to him.

"Your stepmom?" Jason asked, his face burning with thought.

"What about your mom?" He quickly pointed out, his index finger swinging at me in the air.

"She is dead!" I responded once, his eyes bothering me.

"How true could that be?" Jason asked silently but I could hear it so loud and clear.

"Wait, a minute! Do you have a wolf?" Jason asked.
