Chapter 2
Sir Conrad glanced in my direction, a smile playing on his lips. He reached out and gently caressed my arm, and in that moment, I felt a sense of security that allowed me to let him continue.
"No, her virginity is meant to be preserved until your Birthday," he responded.
"What?!" Zeus exclaimed, his brows furrowing in confusion.
"Did you not hear what I just said, son?" Sir Conrad asked.
"Dad, we have to wait two more months. Are you kidding me?" Zeus questioned, his face contorted with frustration.
"If you wish, you can be with another woman, Son. Just let Amarah live peacefully until your birthday arrives," Sir Conrad calmly suggested.
"Dad, I want to be the one to take her virginity," Zeus declared.
I never expected him to be so eager to claim my womanhood. Unable to resist, I glanced over at William in the distance. Why does he show no interest in me? Why are they so different from each other?
"If you want, you can wait," Sir Conrad firmly replied.
"And if I discover that you've harmed Amarah in any way, you won't like the consequences," Sir Conrad warned.
"Alright, fine. I'll wait for you, my beautiful lady. I can't wait to make love to you," Zeus said, a mischievous grin spreading across his face.
He couldn't wait to be intimate with me. Fear gripped me, as I wasn't ready yet. I hoped that time would slow down, that the days would drag on.
Suddenly, a disturbing incident startled me. I was so taken aback that I instinctively pushed him away when he grabbed my hand.
"Don't!" I exclaimed, my voice filled with alarm.
They were all taken aback by my reaction, and I quickly apologized. I caught sight of William, his brows furrowed as he looked at me. I tried to smile at him, but he didn't respond. I turned my attention back to Zeus and apologized to him.
"Relax, Amarah. I want to show you respect," he reassured me.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean it, Sir... I mean, Zeus," I stammered, correcting myself.
I nodded and gave him a polite smile, although deep down, I couldn't shake off the discomfort I felt from his intense gaze. His eyes seemed to undress me from head to toe, and his gesture of kissing my hand didn't feel like a sign of respect, but rather a display of his own desires.
"I can't wait to have you," he whispered softly, a mischievous smile playing on his lips as his eyes lingered on my chest.
Sir Conrad, perhaps sensing his son's inappropriate behavior, quickly intervened and instructed one of his maids to escort me to the Guest room.
"Lydia, please take her to the guest room," he commanded.
"Follow me, Ma'am," Lydia, the maid, said with a warm smile.
I obediently followed Lydia as we ascended the grand staircase. Clutching onto my small suitcase, I tried to suppress my nerves, reminding myself that this was for the sake of my father's safety. If I stayed here, he would be protected.
Lydia opened the door to a stunning and cozy room, adorned with white walls and exquisite paintings by renowned artists.
"It's absolutely beautiful here," I whispered to myself in awe.
"Yes, indeed," Lydia replied, her smile reflecting the pride she felt for her workplace.
"Please make yourself at home, Ma'am," she kindly offered.
"Thank you for bringing me here," I expressed my gratitude.
"It's all part of my job, otherwise I would risk losing it," she responded.
"Still, I appreciate it," I insisted.
Lydia proceeded to give me a tour of the spacious room, showcasing the luxurious bathroom complete with a shower and bathtub. I couldn't help but marvel at the thought of bathing in such opulence. Would I truly live like a princess in this grand mansion?
The nervousness that had consumed me earlier now transformed into excitement. I chuckled at my own anticipation of using the bathroom, realizing that even the simplest things in this place brought me joy.
I couldn't help but smile as I thanked Lydia. Her kindness was truly appreciated.
"You're welcome, Amarah," she replied with a warm smile.
I felt a sense of relief as she addressed me by my name instead of "ma'am." It made me feel more comfortable in this unfamiliar place.
As Lydia left, I found myself sinking into the softness of the bed. Closing my eyes, I took a deep breath, trying to calm my racing thoughts. But the weight of my father's actions lingered in my mind. The realization that he had sold me to settle his debts was a painful blow. I understood his desperation, but it didn't lessen the hurt. It was the last time he made me feel insignificant, not even bothering to say goodbye properly. But I vowed to myself that I wouldn't let his words define me anymore. I wouldn't let him make me believe I was a burden or a useless daughter.
Unbeknownst to me, tears streamed down my face as I dwelled on these thoughts. Despite the pain, I couldn't help but worry about my father's well-being.
Suddenly, a knock on the door interrupted my thoughts. I quickly rose to answer it, finding Lydia standing there with a tray of food, her smile brightening the room.
"Wow, thank you!" I expressed my gratitude as I accepted the tray filled with delicious food.
"Alpha Conrad mentioned that you should rest after eating, as you'll be heading to the city early tomorrow," Lydia informed me.
"Alright, Lydia. Thank you again," I replied, returning her smile.
With a goodbye, Lydia left, and I closed the door behind her. Placing the tray on the small table, I pondered over Lydia's reference to Sir Conrad as "Alpha." It sparked my curiosity.
"Why did Lydia call him that?" I wondered aloud.
Memories of the werewolf books I used to read in school flooded my mind. Doubt crept in, causing me to cover my mouth in disbelief.
"No, it can't be," I reassured myself.
"Don't jump to conclusions, Amarah. Sir Conrad has shown kindness, hasn't he?" I tried to convince myself that my doubts were unfounded.
But the question lingered, refusing to leave my thoughts.
Shaking off the uncertainty, I focused on the present. I enjoyed my meal and shifted my attention to the beautiful paintings adorning the walls.
"What a lovely room," I whispered to myself.
The sound of a familiar male husky voice in the dark living room caught me off guard - "Amarah," it called out, sending shivers down my spine.
