About To Build A Small Golem Army
Alec lay on top of a tall tree in his courtyard, engrossed the book his grandfather had given him about golem making.
As he looked up, he noticed Arthur and Brandon still fiercely battling each other.
It had been two weeks since they had approached Alec, asking him to take them in and train them, and since then they had made remarkable progress.
Both Arthur and Brandon had advanced from being (Low) Tier 1 mages to ( Mid) Tier 1 mages , enabling them to handle the golems with more ease and achieve victories through dedicated practice.
Moreover, their fighting abilities had greatly improved, shedding the signs of amateurism they had shown earlier, when fighting against the Golems.
However, it wasn't just Arthur and Brandon who had developed.
The special golems had also acquired new skills and their weapon mastery had reached level 5, increasing the challenges for both Arthur and Brandon.
Despite this, they remained undefeated and, in fact, now took the initiative to counterattack.
The sounds of their intense battles filled the courtyard as they fought till their mana was depleted and meditated till they were in shape to go back in.
Alec made sure they only ate at night, observing the progress he had made in transforming them into capable comrades ready for battle.
The changes he had instilled in them were evident: Arthur had mastered the art of using both metal and earth magic seamlessly, while Brandon had become a formidable force with his extraordinary skill in earth manipulation.
Even without mana, Brandon proved to be a dangerous opponent, showcasing his newly discovered skill of sword mastery after engaging in countless fights over the past fourteen days.
Despite the length of time it took for Alec himself to level up his skills, he understood that not everyone could progress as rapidly as him and his golems.
His system informed him that the golems were advancing quickly because he was training them hard each day, allowing them to naturally awaken skills and improve at a rapid pace.
However, Alec knew that it would take longer for Arthur and Brandon to reach the same level of proficiency as them without the support of the system.
Nevertheless, Alec wasn't bothered by this because he had witnessed how Brandon had honed his swordsmanship with the newly acquired skill of sword mastery.
Brandon had transformed from aimlessly swinging his sword to executing every move with technique and purpose, creating his own style.
The battles against the golems had significantly contributed to their skill growth, constantly presenting new challenges and opportunities for improvement.
"That's enough for now," Alec declared as he jumped down from the tree.
Brandon let out a relieved sigh, feeling drained from fighting tirelessly, only stopping to replenish his mana before engaging in another round of combat.
Meanwhile, Arthur clenched his fists, exclaiming with excitement,
"Finally, even I have entered the (Mid) Tier 1 realm and consolidated my powers."
" I can't wait to see the surprised expressions on Agnes and Knight's faces when they witness our new cultivation realm!" Arthur said but
Alec ignored Arthur's exuberance, accustomed to the constant ranting.
"Why did we stop?" Brandon asked, seeking clarification.
"Well, the golems don't seem to be putting as much pressure on you anymore, and I can't risk having you fight against Titan," Alec replied.
"I'll upgrade them to Tier 1 since I have already obtained everything I need for their evolution."
"Evolution?! Wait, don't tell me you're about to promote all four golems to the Tier 1 realm?" Arthur asked, his voice filled with disbelief.
"Of course I am, I should have done it sooner, but you guys were slowing me down. If they were promoted to the Tier 1 realm, they would easily defeat you and disrupt my training plans for you in the process as it would be hard finding another golems as experienced as them to engage you all," Alec explained calmly.
"Thankfully, you guys have broken out of your shells and become (Mid) Tier 1 mages," Alec remarked admiringly while eyeing Arthur and Brandon's well-defined abs.
He couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy as his own body remained slim and normal with no visible muscle definition.
Arthur chuckled mischievously and playfully placed his hands on Alec's shoulders.
However, Alec swiftly retaliated by pressing his left hand against Arthur's face, emitting a short burst of flames that blasted Arthur's face.
"Ah! Why did you do that?" Arthur exclaimed, inspecting his charred blackened face in the reflection of the lake nearby.
"You've ruined my beautiful face!, How are the ladies going to admire this handsome daddy now?"
Alec chose to ignore his complaining, knowing that arguing would only lead to more bickering.
"Now, it's time for me to finally assemble my own small golem army," Alec declared to himself, surveying the various options laid out before him.
"You do realize that you'll be the first person in the Gordon family to possess more than one Tier 1 golem in the Younger generations , right?" Arthur pointed out, excitement evident in his voice.
"If people find out that you're aiming to raise that number to six, they'll think you're a genius who make others' cultivation efforts seem useless, It would take at least seven (High) or a (Peak) Tier 1 mages to stand a chance against you."
Brandon's body trembled as he observed the golems, which possessed an incredibly formidable battle power that surpassed their normal realm.
What frightened him even more was his Young Master, Alec.
He had witnessed Alec's relentless training, focusing specifically on mastering the fire element in order to create a golem with both earth and fire attributes.
Alec had dedicated four hours each day to familiarize himself with the fire element.
This prompted Arthur to challenge him to a fight once he reached mid-tier 1 realm.
The overwhelming feedback of power went straight to Arthur's head, making him believe that he was at the peak of his strength.
Feeling confident in his abilities as a battle mage, he challenged Alec, who had taken the golem path.
Unfortunately for Arthur, the fight with Alec resulted in him getting burnt black, serving as a test for Alec's fire skills.
Despite his defeat, Arthur decided to challenge Titan once again.
However, even without its shield, Titan effortlessly defeated him with its mace, bringing Arthur's inflated ego crashing down.
The experience humbled Arthur, prompting him to take his training more seriously.
Since then, they all could feel the improvements they had made, despite never leaving the courtyard.
Brandon even believed that if he were to meet his past self, he would easily triumph over his former self with just his fists.
Fighting against the ever-evolving golems had forced them to adapt to different battle conditions, honing their skills in sneak attacks and combat techniques.
"Now, forget whatever you were thinking because you're about to witness my babies grow, and that's a privilege," Alec declared, opening the status tab of the axe-wielding golem.
[One of your golems has reached its maximum value and can evolve into a Tier 1 golem, Choose its path]
-
Ordinary tier one golem (cost 25 mana)
-
Axeman Golem – tier one golem (cost 50 mana)
-
Berserk Axeman Golem – tier one golem (cost 100 mana)
Without hesitation, Alec chose the Berserk Axeman Golem.
"Now, it's time for the magic to happen," Alec said, feeling one-fifth of his mana pool being depleted as his mana flowed into the body of the golem with its strange axe.
"Let's see how you'll turn out," Alec whispered to himself, while Arthur and Brandon couldn't tear their eyes away from the mesmerizing transformation taking place before them.
