Chapter 08; The angry Zhao Ming...
After placing her on the couch, Hong Feng changed into more darker clothes, tied the bedsheets together making it a rope, tied it to the bed leg, and carefully climbed down the window
Since his bedroom was on the second floor, he easily got down, his bedroom window overlooked the backyard, and a few guards patrolled that side of the house.
Even though it was dark, the whole compound lit up from all the lamps that lit up along the electric-fenced walls, he saw his Grandpa tending to his flowers in the garden.
He took cover and hid around the dark corner of the house, looking around to see if there is a way out, he could use to escape, he picked up a stone and threw it in the opposite direction against the wall, knocking the electric wires, the wires sparkled.
'It's already switched on, I wouldn't be able to climb up the wall.' he thought silently, He leaned against the wall thinking of what to do next.
The chauffeur finally arrived at the Zhao Family House after a twenty-minute drive, he drove to the parking lot and parked the car.
He alighted and rushed to the passenger seat, he opened the passenger door, his head bowed.
Zhao Ming alighted and dashed into the living room only to find the whole place eerily quiet, she halted in her steps, looking around, not seeing the person she wants.
She dashed upstairs to Zhao Bao's room and pushed in to open but the door was locked, she went to the adjacent door which was his study room, and pushed it in but didn't budge, it was also locked.
She dashed back into the kitchen, "Nanny Wei where is my brother?" she inquired, her eyes icily cold.
" He hasn't returned back yet.." Nanny Wei replied, continuing to cook without looking at her as usual.
Zhao Ming raised her left leg and kicked Nanny Wei's right thigh forcefully, Nanny Wei stumbled back, and the bowl of soup sprinted and spilled on Zhao Ming's hand.
"Arrggghhh..... Idiot! so incompetent!" Zhao Ming yelled out angrily.
Nanny Wei was taken aback and turned around to face her Miss, wondering why would she kick her.
"Slaap! what are looking at? how dare you talk to me while doing something else, and how dare you scald my hand." Zhao Ming harshly scolded her.
You could see a huge handprint on her left cheek that was turning red, it was painful, and her ear was ringing.
When Wang Qing returned home she heard noises coming from the kitchen, she walked over to the kitchen and approached Zhao Ming who was leaning against the door, holding her arm.
"Ming Ming... what's the matter?" she inquired closing the gap between them, hurriedly.
" Mommy... Nanny Wei burned my arm.... see..." Zhao Ming whined like a spoilt kid, stretching her burnt hand out.
" Nanny Wei... how dare you burn my baby's hand? you don't want your job anymore? you are tired of living!" Wang Qing coldly scolded her, seeing a patch of redness on her baby's hand.
'how am I going to defend myself? I am innocent, it was just an accident.' she sobbed quietly in her heart.
"What did you come to do here my girl?" she asked, taking a burn cream from the storage drawer.
"I came to get a glass of water," she replied sweetly, and Wang Qing led her to the couch where they sat down.
"You don't need to go to the kitchen... let Nanny Wei serve you here in the living room or at the dining table, see now.. your soft skin will be ruined." she chastised her softly.
" Ok mom" she shyly replied, kissing her mother's cheek.
She finished applying the burn cream, "All right... go to your room and change into your home clothes, before joining me for dinner." She gently kissed her daughter on the cheek.
"Okay mommy..." she dashed upstairs, with her school bag on her shoulder. Wang Qing went to her bedroom to freshen up too.
Nanny Wei just stood there watching the pair of mother and daughter being all chummy, without knowing how to defend herself. Tears welled in her eyes as she bent down and began cleaning up.
After keeping a close eye around the compound for more than thirty minutes, he noticed an unfocused guard, leaning against the car in the parking lot smoking.
Since he was in front of him, his back facing him, he walked forward approaching him.
Taking light steps, he knocked him out from behind, caught off guard he blacked out, Hong Feng supported his body as he dragged him to a dark corner.
He undressed him, changed his clothes, and put on the guard's uniform, after confirming that he had put his phone and wallet inside the pockets, he left the guard lying there in a corner with only a brief and vest.
He walked through the gate easily without being noticed, and since the entrance door was facing a street road, taxis were driving through which made it easier for him.
He didn't linger there long before getting a taxi, he boarded as he said, "To the Southern District Level Four Hospital." he gave him the destination.
"All right sir... but because it's night and the destination is quite far, I will charge you a little more." The taxi driver explained as he stepped on the gas.
"It's fine... let's go.." Hong Feng politely responded.
Sitting on the passenger seat, he leaned his head against the window mirror and watched the streetlights pass by. He sighed softly.
"If only everything was lovely and dazzling as these streetlights." He lightly sighed. He couldn't stand the bitterness wolfing inside his heart, he clutched his chest tightly.
