Chapter. 3 My Beloved Little Family

Mike continued to pedal his old bicycle through the path on the outskirts of the village. The expanse of the sea with the fishing boats that were starting to pull up became an epic background to show the happiness of Mike, Devina and Caca. For the three of them, this was indeed a very rare moment. Because, it is not usual for Mike to take them to their place of activity like this morning.

Actually, the boat that Mike uses to go to sea is leaking. So, they were temporarily off fishing and off earning income for sure. However, Mike thinks of moments like this as God's way of giving him quality time with his daughter and wife. If not, how could he sing all the way with Caca who was riding in the front. While behind him, Devina could only laugh while hugging his waist tightly.

"Kring kring kring there's a bicycle. My bicycle is a two-wheeler. I got it from my father. Because I study hard," said Mike and Caca singing 'Kring. Kring. There's a Bicycle." With great enthusiasm and joy. In fact, Mike even rang the bicycle bell to make the atmosphere more favorable for them to sing.

"Prok. Prok. There's a shoe-" Caca suddenly stopped her singing. Because Mike was still honking the distinctive horn of his proud vehicle.

"Uh, why did you stop? It's not finished yet?" asked Mike confused.

"You're wrong." Caca pretended to be cranky.

"What's wrong? You already know the lyrics to the song. That's right," laughed Mike.

"It's not the lyrics that are wrong, it's the sound of the shoes. They sound kring kring!" protested Caca, which immediately brought laughter from her parents.

"Haha haha. You're just making things up. Dad, he brought a bicycle. Not shoes. Yes, that's what it sounds like," said Devina while shaking her head several times.

"Yes, too. If so, just change the song, Dad!"

"Okay. What do you want to change? Um... how about riding a delman?" suggested Mike.

"But we're riding a bicycle, Dad, not a delman."

"Oh, that's right. Um... how about... taking a walk to the top of the mountain?"

"But, it's the ocean next to us, not the fir trees," Caca said quickly. Behind Devina could only laugh out loud. Seeing her daughter who is getting smarter. To where it overwhelmed her father just to determine the title of the song they wanted to sing.

"Ouch. I forgot again. Yes, that's it. Let Caca choose what to sing?"

"Until school, Dad."

"Huh? There are songs like that. When I was in school, there was nothing like that."

"That's not the title of the song, Dad. But we've already arrived at the school," Caca explained, pointing at the dull building partially visible at the end of the road.

"Oh, yes. That's right. Ah, you're just getting smarter."

"Of course. Who was her mother," said Devina suddenly.

"I know. Surely if it's bad, you want to say that Caca is imitating me, right?" Mike sarcastically said.

"Hahaha." Devina laughed out loud. "I am, aren't I?" she added, causing Mike to glare.

"That's fine. I'm the best dad in the world. Right, Caca?"

"Yeah, Dad. But we've gone too far. You should have turned earlier," Caca replied, which made Mike realize.

"Oh, right?" Mike stopped instantly. "Hehehe. Sorry," Mike added with a horse grin. He then tried to turn the bike around.

"I'll get off first. So it's easier for you to turn it around," Devina offered, seeing that her husband was having a little trouble getting the bike to face the other way.

"E... that's good. What if you get picked up by someone?"

Devina patted Mike's shoulder in annoyance.

"What do you think I am, a green shell?"

"Hehe. You're not the clam, you're the pearl," Mike said, which managed to put a blush on Devina's cheeks.

"Ciyeee. You're teasing Mama."

"Yes. Your mom's cheeks are already red. Like boiled crabs," joked Mike whispering to Caca. Then both of them laughed crisply.

"Ish. What the hell?" said Devina while pinching Mike's waist.

"Aw. Aw. Aw. It hurts, honey. You're playing pinch. I just kissed you back."

"Already. No need to digress. Hurry up! Caca will be late for school. I'll be late for the clinic too. Oh, yes. I was wondering. We rode our bikes. But why do I feel like we'll get there faster if we walk?"

"Yes, Mom. Dad deliberately lingered."

"Hehe. It's just so we can spend more time together," Mike said honestly.

Finally, Mike stopped his bike in front of the school building that Caca had pointed out earlier. The little girl immediately got off.

"Bye Daddy. Bye Mom. I'll go to school first," said Caca while waving her hand at her parents.

"Yes, sweetheart. Study smart and remember not to be naughty," said Devina.

"Yes, Commander!" said Caca, imitating Mike's usual speech.

"Hahaha. Go on in! Bye," said Mike. Caca ran away while waving her hand. Mike and Devina waved back at her while staring at her departure.

"I can't believe it. Our child is already that big," Mike muttered.

"Yeah. It feels like everything just happened yesterday," said Devina. Mike turned his head to hear his wife's words.

"Uhm.... Can I ask you something?" asked Mike suddenly with a serious face.

"What is it?"

"Don't you want to change Caca's position sitting here?" asked Mike while patting the bicycle frame in front of him. As a result, he immediately got a pinch from Devina on his waist. "Aw. Aw. Aw. It hurts," she whimpered.

"Feel it! What the hell are you doing? I thought what you were going to say. Turns out you just wanted to tease me. Hurry up and walk again. I'm really late to come my work!"

"Hehe. Yes. I'm on my way again."

Mike pedaled his bike back to the clinic that Devina had mentioned earlier. It wasn't long before they arrived at their destination.

"Well, here we are. I should have taken you around the world first to make it longer. Hehe."

"Do you really want to? Besides, we'll meet again in the afternoon, evening, and night. Don't you get bored?"

"It's good to be bored. I want to be with you every second."

"Then who wants to make money?"

"Yes, i know. Hehe. Yes, already. I'll go home first. Later, when I'm done patching the ship. I'll come here again. So I can keep you company." Mike smiled sweetly while raising one eyebrow.

"Aren't you going to fix your net too?"

"Wow. I failed to be alone with you."

"Go home already. Let me finish your work quickly. You can come here in the afternoon as usual."

"That's right. If so. I want to finish all my business quickly. So I can come here sooner. Okay?"

"Okay."

After that, Mike didn't leave immediately. Instead, he looked to his left and right, which was deserted.

"What's wrong?" asked Devina confused.

"Kiss me first!" said Mike while thrusting his cheek. Devina was glaring.

"Ish. This is in a public place. Later at home." Devina pushed Mike's body back away.

"Just a little!"

"No way. Go home already. I'm going in!"

"You say you don't want to, but your cheeks are flushed," Mike said seeing the blush on his wife's pure white cheeks. "Haha haha."

While the two were joking around. Unbeknownst to them, there was a pair of eyes watching them from quite close.

"Yes. I'm home already. See you in the afternoon. Love you forever."

"Yes, I believe. Go home already." Shooed Devina away while pushing Mike's body several times. Really, she was very embarrassed if other people saw Mike's excessive behavior.

"Okay-okay. Bye, Darling. See you in the afternoon."

"Bye," Devina said as she waved her hand at Mike. She smiled and shook her head a few times. Remembering her husband's behavior. Then she spun around to walk into the building in front of her. She had just inserted the key into the hole. Suddenly....

Devina turned her head when she heard the sound of something falling.

"Oh, my God!" she screeched while running towards a man who fell in front of her clinic. "What's wrong with you?" asked Devina confused.

"Pain... pain.... My chest hurts so much," whimpered the man while holding his ample chest.

"Yes, already. Let me check inside," said Devina while trying to carry the man into her clinic.
