Chapter 1 She Was Pregnant

"Lucas, I'm pregnant," Nora Smith said gently, holding the pregnancy test results and looking at Lucas Gordon's handsome face.

While she was envisioning a happy future, Lucas's expression suddenly changed.

"I've never had sex with you. How could you be pregnant? Nora, the child in your womb isn't mine. We're getting a divorce!" Lucas took the test results, glanced at them, and then harshly threw the paper in Nora's face.

"Lucas, are you joking? On our wedding night, we were clearly together in the hotel." Nora's face turned pale, and her voice trembled.

She remembered that on their wedding night, they had spent a passionate night together in the hotel, a night she still couldn't forget.

"The man who was with you that night wasn't me. I was with Becky the entire night!" Lucas looked at Nora with disgust and coldly revealed the truth.

Nora's vision went black, and she staggered violently. She clenched her fists, her nails digging painfully into her palms.

"Lucas, on our wedding night, you abandoned me to be with my stepsister, Becky Smith. You cheated on me!" Nora almost screamed.

"Nora, do you think you're still worthy of me? I have a high status now, and only Becky is a match for me!" Lucas's face showed disdain. "We're getting divorced immediately. Pack your things and get out!"

Nora's head throbbed, and she felt that the Lucas in front of her was a complete stranger.

Lucas had been switched at birth by a nurse and was only found by his biological parents three months ago.

The Gordon family was a top-tier family in Youston. Although Lucas's parents were just a branch of the Gordon family, it didn't stop Lucas from rising from an unknown commoner to a noble young heir.

Nora, on the other hand, wasn't as good at dressing up as Becky, and she had a mother who had been in prison and was not favored by her father at home. So Lucas felt that Nora was no longer a match for him.

But when Lucas had pursued her before, he had said he liked her just the way she was and would never change. It turned out that when a person's status changed, so did their heart!

Nora was utterly disappointed in Lucas, tears welling up in her eyes. "Lucas, you're a bastard. You want a divorce? Fine, just wait!"

Four years later, in a two-story house on the outskirts of Youston.

"Mommy, come out quickly. Brother has made a big discovery!" A cute little girl with two pigtails and short legs walked over, pulling Nora outside.

Back then, Nora had been pregnant with triplets. This was her youngest daughter, Samantha Smith.

Four years ago, after falling out with Lucas, Nora moved out of the Gordon family. Her medical mentor had long helped her apply to be an exchange student in Country N, so Nora chose to go abroad for further studies.

Originally, Nora hadn't wanted the child in her womb. But the doctor said her uterine wall was naturally thinner than others, and if she had an abortion, she might never be able to conceive again.

After much thought, Nora decided to keep the baby.

Over the past four years, Nora had been grateful for the company of her three adorable children, who brought her unprecedented happiness and fulfillment.

However, she had never been able to figure out who the father of her children was.

"Mommy, look," Samantha led Nora to a desolate area.

Two identical-looking children were squatting, staring at a man covered in blood. The man was clearly unconscious, his life or death uncertain.

"Mommy, he's hurt." Alex Smith, with his delicate and refined features, exuded an innate nobility and a maturity beyond his years.

"Let's save him quickly," Billy Smith, who had a face identical to Alex's but a much more lively personality, said.

Nora's expression turned serious as she crouched down to examine the man closely.

The man was still alive, but his breathing was weak. If he wasn't treated soon, he might die.

Nora glanced at the nearby cliff, her brows furrowing slightly.

It seemed the man had fallen from up there.

She searched his pockets but found nothing that could identify him.

Following the principle of a healer's compassion, Nora used all her strength to drag the man back and settled him in a room on the first floor.

This house had been left to Nora by her grandmother before she passed away. Not long after returning to the country, Nora and her three children lived here.

She returned to the country partly driven by her children's educational needs and partly by her own need to investigate something.

Soon, Alex brought her the medical kit.

Nora opened it and took out gauze and disinfecting tools.

"Honey, you go out first. I need to save this man!"

"Okay," Alex, Billy, and Samantha responded in unison.

After they left, Nora stripped the man down to his underwear and then disinfected and bandaged all his wounds.

Nora's face was calm, and her movements were fluid and unhurried. Soon, she had treated the man's injuries.

The man had a robust build, with eight-pack abs showcasing his masculine charm.

Nora's gaze moved up to his right shoulder.

There, she saw a faint bite mark!

Nora's breath caught, and her mind flashed back to that night in the hotel four years ago.

At that time, the man's shallow breathing had enveloped her, and in a moment of pain, she had bitten his shoulder.

Nora's expression changed slightly. She quickly grabbed a wet towel to wipe his face, wanting to see what he looked like.

The damp towel gradually wiped away the dirt on the man's face, revealing his features.

A broad forehead, a high nose bridge, and sexy thin lips.

His features were sharp and defined, and even with the injuries on his face, they didn't detract from his original handsomeness.

What a handsome man, not only attractive but also somewhat familiar.

Nora stared at him, her mind flashing with images of Alex and Billy.

Alex and Billy bore a striking resemblance to him.

Could he be the man from four years ago?

Nora's chest heaved slightly. After finishing the bandaging, she drew some of his blood for testing.

As soon as Nora walked away, Alex, Billy, and Samantha sneaked into the room.

"Wow, how handsome he is," Samantha said, her big eyes filled with delight as she looked at the sleeping man.

"Hey, Alex, doesn't he look like us?" Billy asked in surprise.

Alex's obsidian-like eyes narrowed slightly, but he said nothing.

Indeed, he did look like them!

"He looks so much like us. Could he be our daddy?" Samantha said excitedly.

Alex's beautiful eyes moved, and he headed towards the makeshift lab Nora had set up.

Since he had become aware, he had pieced together bits of their background from Nora and her godmother's conversations.

Their biological father was unknown.

The man they had just seen looked so much like them. Could he be their father?

In the lab, Nora was waiting for the test results.

Half an hour later, the data came out. The man's physical condition was good, with no hidden ailments.

However, he had fallen from the cliff and broken both legs. To recover, he would need further treatment.

Nora understood this and looked at the results of the man's blood type.

If the blood type matched, then he was most likely the children's father!
