Chapter 2 The Man from Four Years Ago
The man's blood type was B!
Nora raised her delicate eyebrows, a faint smile playing on her lips. Neither she nor her children had type B blood.
Therefore, this man merely resembled her children but had no blood relation to them!
With this thought, Nora breathed a sigh of relief. The children were hers, and no one could take them away.
"Mommy, is that man okay?" Alex walked in with his short little legs.
Nora got up to wash her hands. "He's fine; he's lucky he didn't die from the fall. But his leg is broken, and he'll receive treatment for it once he wakes up."
Alex responded, his beautiful big eyes glancing at the table. When he saw the blood type report, his eyes lit up.
From a young age, Alex had been well-read and knew how to determine familial blood relations.
Eagerly, he picked up the report and took a look, but the light in his eyes dimmed slightly.
His hopes were dashed. 'That man merely looked like them!'
"Alex, Mommy is going to prepare some medicine for him."
Nora took some anti-inflammatory and hemostatic medicine, went to the room, and propped the man up to feed him the medicine. The man, still unconscious, tasted the bitterness and pressed his thin lips tightly together.
Nora tried several times, but he still couldn't swallow the medicine. She pinched the man's nose, forcing him to open his mouth.
After much effort, she managed to get the medicine in, but he spat it out.
Nora was speechless. "You look so tall and strong, but you're so delicate. Are you even a man? I'm warning you. If you don't swallow this, I'll have to feed you with my mouth."
The unconscious man's thin lips pressed together again.
Though still asleep, a cold aura emanated from him as if he were very angry.
This man had quite a temper. Nora sighed and pinched his nose again. "Open your mouth. If you spit it out again, I really will kiss you."
Perhaps intimidated by Nora, the man's brows furrowed, but he didn't spit it out again.
After feeding him the medicine, Nora was drenched in sweat.
What a person; he was more of a handful than her three kids combined.
The next afternoon.
"Alex, I am going out to buy some things. Take care of your brother and sister at home," Nora said, looking at Alex's delicate little face, her eyes full of proud tenderness.
Among the three children, Alex was the most sensible and intelligent. He loved learning and was proficient with computers.
Nora really didn't know where he got his intelligence from.
"Got it. Mommy, be careful on the road and take your weapon. Always be wary of men hitting on you, and don't be misled by handsome men," Alex reminded.
Nora was speechless.
Nora drove her new car to the Garfield Mall in Youston. She bought a few new clothes for her three children and then thought for a moment before heading to the men's clothing section on the fourth floor. The man's clothes were all torn, so she decided to buy him a couple of new outfits.
"Did you see the news? Our group's new CEO, Aaron Gordon, had a car accident."
"I heard his car fell off a cliff and exploded."
"Yeah, but there was no one in the car. No one knows if Aaron is dead or alive."
"Falling from such a high cliff, how could there be any chance of survival?"
The Garfield Mall belonged to the Gordon Group. Three sales assistants were gossiping, and Nora paused her hand while picking out clothes.
A car accident, falling off a cliff, it sounded eerily similar to the man she had rescued. Could the man lying in her house actually be Aaron, the CEO of the Gordon Group?
Absentmindedly, Nora picked out two sets of men's clothes, planning to go back and have Alex use his computer skills to check what Aaron looked like. Just as she left the counter, she accidentally bumped into someone.
"Sorry," Nora quickly apologized.
The other person stared at her for a few seconds, then tentatively said, "Nora?"
Nora looked up, and her face turned cold when she saw who it was. It was her stepsister, Becky. She hadn't expected to run into her here.
"It really is you, Nora. You finally showed up!" Becky was wearing a red dress, exuding confidence.
She looked Nora up and down, a flash of amazement and jealousy in her eyes.
In her memory, her half-sister Nora always wore black-framed glasses, had a heavy hairstyle, and dressed very plainly.
But now, Nora had taken off her glasses, and her heavy hairstyle was gone, revealing a smooth forehead.
Her face was now fresh and elegant, much more beautiful than before!
"Nora, you really know how to hide. I thought you'd stay hidden forever," Becky said sarcastically.
"I did consider it to let you be a mistress forever," Nora replied calmly.
Becky's face changed. "Nora, are you going to divorce Lucas or not?"
Nora laughed coldly. "I almost forgot, thanks to you, that Lucas and I are still married. But it seems like you and he already have a child. What's the rush?"
Four years ago, Nora had left without a word. Lucas had been looking for her, wanting a divorce.
Nora didn't care to be Lucas's wife, but she also didn't want him and Becky to get their way so easily!
"Nora, what are you so proud of? You're just a slut who got played. Do you think getting plastic surgery will make Lucas change his mind? Let me tell you, Lucas said you're dull. He only married you because he was at the right age and wanted a woman to have children with."
"But you ended up pregnant with someone else's bastards and triplets at that. I never thought the old man I found for you on your wedding night would be so capable!" Becky crossed her arms, her face full of spite.
So, the man in the hotel on her wedding night was someone Becky had arranged!
The more Nora thought about it, the angrier she became.
Her red lips pressed tightly together, and she suddenly raised her hand and slapped Becky.
"Becky, it seems you enjoy being a mistress. So, keep being one!"
Becky had always been arrogant and domineering, relying on her family's favor, but Nora never thought she could be so despicable!
"Nora, how dare you hit me?" Becky was stunned that Nora dared to slap her. She covered her face, glaring at Nora in disbelief.
