Chapter 2: The First Meeting
Justin's POV
As an Alpha I am supposed to make allies with neighboring packs. The Red Wood pack is the only one that we don’t have an alliance with, but that’s going to change today. I have a meeting with their Alpha and from what I have heard the new Alpha is one tough bitch. She doesn’t take shit from anyone. Some of the people we both know has called her merciless and unkind. I think that’s just the mask that she puts on given the way she got her title. I really feel for her because we share that in common with one another.
My wolf, Tanner, has been on edge all day. Like something big is going to happen we just can’t seem to figure out what it is. I’m hoping its my mate. Maybe she will be in the Red Wood pack and hopefully what they say is true and she will need me most at this point in her life, like myself. I’m a 23-year-old werewolf that has yet to find his mate. I know kind of pathetic.
“Allen, you will be going with me and a few of our guards to the Red Moon pack to sign the alliance agreement.” I told my beta. “Kol, you will stay here and watch over the pack until I get back.” but they both seemed to be taking it lightly so I continued in my Alpha tone that I know they will listen to, “Am I making myself clear you two, or do I just need to go get your mates and have them both beat you?” I concluded.
“Yes Alpha.” they said in unison and then Kol added “Please don’t bring Martha into this, she’s really been stressed lately, and I want her to stay as calm as possible.”
“I was only joking about getting them, but I was very much serious about what I said.” I told them and left no room for argument.
“Allen, please get my guards and make sure the Denali has a full tank in it.” I asked in my Alpha tone although it came out as more of a command.
“Already done. I knew you were going so I wanted to make sure that everything was already ready for when you wanted to leave.” He informed me. This is why I love Allen I didn’t even really have to ask and he already had it done. This is also why he is my beta, and my best friend. I don’t think I could’ve handled my fathers death well without him.
Although my parents led the pack with grace and dignity they also got involved in witch business when everyone around them told them not to. In the end it was because of the witches that my parents fell. I don’t blame my parents or the witches or even the goddess herself because the way I see it is everything happens for a reason. Just like me not meeting my mate yet isn’t anyone’s fault its just the plans of fate that we just can’t see clearly yet.
I’ve come out of my thoughts when I see my Beta standing in the door way of the pack house telling me that its time to go. We all get loaded up and since we shouldn’t be there for more than maybe a few hours at the most we don’t bother to pack any bags or anything.
Something good is going to happen. I can feel it. Tanner tells me and I just nod in agreement.
“Alpha are you okay? I’m only asking because your creeping us all out smiling like that.” Allen asks with curiosity in his voice.
“Yeah I’m fine, I just have a very good feeling about this meeting.” I told them to calm my nerves and theirs.
Tricia’s POV
The closer it got to the time they were supposed to be here the more my anxiety spiked and the more uneasy I became. It was so bad I’ve even taken a few shots of whisky just to try to calm them and I’m not much of a drinker. The liquor cabinet is more for my guests than it is for me.
“Tricia calm down. Everything is going to work out and go smoothly I just know it.” Beta Taylor says.
“I’m trying but my wolf is on edge and I can’t figure out why. It’s like she wants us to be on our guard.” I tell him honestly.
“Well let me speak with her. You know that I have always had both of your best interest at heart, right?” He asks.
Reluctantly I let Stacy come forth and as soon as I do we are instantly engulfed in a hug.
“Calm Alpha. Listen to me carefully. You are an amazing Alpha and I’m sure that whatever it is we can work through it together. I will stand by your side and help you through anything you need help with. I will always be here all you have to do is ask. Now with that in mind are you feeling better?” He asks after helping to calm Stacey’s nerves as well as my own. I guess I just needed to hear that I wasn’t alone in all this.
She nods and gives me back control.
“Alpha, they’re here.” Beta Taylor told me.
We made our way out of the house and as soon as Alpha Richards stepped out of the vehicle all I could smell was grass and chocolate. My eyes I know went pitch black and at the same time my wolf cried mate.
“Mine” was all that was heard before he ran up the steps with tears in his eyes and he cried.
I was so overwhelmed that the last thing I could hear was someone telling me to open my eyes. I let darkness consume me.
-------- (While Tricia is unconscious.)
I’m not alone. I can sense it. My hair is standing on end and I can’t fully comprehend what’s going on before I am torn from the darkness and dropped in a field.
The field is full of wild flowers and one single tree with a wolf sitting at the bottom of it. I gaze at the wolf for so long that it finally growled, and I realized that it wasn’t just any wolf. That wolf is none other than Stacy and as though she can here my thoughts when we are separated like this that she nods her head yes before telling me to come sit beside her.
Tricia, don’t be mad but we were both just so overwhelmed that I brought us here before we accidentally lost it or put ourselves in a coma. Stacy informed me.
“Oh. Then when will we wake up?” I asked
Normally I would wake you up now, but because we are both hard headed and strong willed I need to know if you are going to be able to give up the Alpha title to be our mate’s Luna. She stated.
“You know I will. We always knew that it would come to this. I will except him for now, but if he gives us any reason to not trust him then we will separate ourselves from him. I don’t want either of us to get hurt or worse we lose our pack.” I told her.
Okay then we have a deal. I love you Trish. She agreed, and with that the field around us gradually disappeared.
