MEETING.

Right in front of me was Seth with his secretary; they were both half naked. They pushed away from each other immediately when they saw me. She was gathering up her clothes while Seth was looking for his pants.

I felt the world freeze around me; everything stopped moving. My legs went weak as I struggled to stand on my own.

“Honey, it's not what you think. I can explain; please let me explain,” Seth said, coming close to me. I felt disgusted at the sight of him. I drew away from him; how could he?

“How could you do this to me?” My voice came out weak and small. I could feel my body shaking from the shock I just received.

“Alda, please let me explain. She is nothing to me; you are the one I love. You know I love you, right? I was just having fun with her, that's all.” I was more shocked by his words.

How could he say that to me? They were just having fun. I felt myself suffocating; I couldn't breathe properly from the pain I felt in my heart. I need to get away from here. I need to get away from him.

I grabbed my handbag and lunchbox and headed for the door.

"Alda, please hear me the fuck out!!!” He yelled behind me. Did he really just yell at me? I wanted to go back and dump the food on him, but I just couldn't do it.

I needed to leave; the pain was becoming unbearable. I felt hot tears running down my cheeks as I literally ran out of his office and headed for the elevator.

“Alda!, Alda, you stop right there. Don't walk away while I'm talking to you,” he screamed after me. He was beginning to draw attention towards us as the workers started peeping out of their desks to know the source of the noise in the hallway.

I ran into the elevator and immediately clicked the button to go down. I never thought that Seth would cheat on me. I never thought that he would cheat on me, and yet he looked me in the eyes and told me he loved me.

I felt the little hope I had been building inside me shatter into pieces. A sob escaped my lips as I tried to cover it up. When the elevator door opened, I rushed out, wanting to get away from here. I don't want to see Seth until I am able to think properly.

I was taken aback when I bumped into someone and fell. I was too distracted to notice that someone was coming towards me.

“I'm so sorry, please pardon me,” I said as I tried to get myself off the ground.

“Here, let me help you." His voice was deep and hard, yet very pleasant to the ear. I looked up and met a pair of grey eyes staring down at me.

“I'm sorry, I didn't mean to bump into you.” I apologised and looked away from him immediately. Avoiding his glance, I grabbed onto my bag and ran outside the company.

Wiping the tears from my cheeks, I started walking down the street and managed to find a coffee shop. I entered the shop and took a seat that was away from people's eyes.

“Ma'am, should I get you something?” I heard the bartender asking, but I wasn't in the mood to talk to anybody, so I waved him off.

I felt so stupid; how could I have trusted him so much? The picture of Seth and his secretary at the office kept appearing over and over again in my head.

I was losing my mind. I knew I had to talk to someone, or I might go crazy. I took my phone and dialled Anna's number, but it moved me straight to voicemail.

“Anna, Anna I'm seriously losing my mind. Please call me when you receive this message. I need to talk to someone, or I might do something stupid,” I said as I tried to hold back my sobs.

Feeling more devastated, I got up and headed for the restroom.

Xender's POV

I was taken by surprise when someone bumped into me just in front of the elevator.

"I'm so sorry, please pardon me," she apologised as she struggled to get up.

“Here, let me help you.” I said that and extended my hand towards her. She looked up and stared at my extended hand before looking up at me.

Tears were running down her cheeks, and her beautiful brown eyes were sad. She looked like she could use a break from whatever caused the sadness in her eyes. Instead of taking my hands, she looked away from me, avoiding my glance.

“I'm sorry, I didn't mean to bump into you,” she said as she pushed herself up, grabbed her handbag, and ran off. I wonder what left her in that state.

“Sir, I couldn't get hold of Mr. Sebastian,” my secretary reported to me as she approached me.

“He better not go silent on me, or he will live to regret it." I was furious. How can he toy with my business and my contacts?

“Sir, does that belong to you?” Rosa asked, pointing at a lunchbox on the floor. I failed to notice it when the lady from earlier ran off.

“Damn it, that belongs to a lady that just left here.”

“You mean the lady with the blue dress? I saw her running down the street; do you want me to go after her with this?” Rosa asked, adjusting her eyeglasses like she couldn't see properly.

I don't know why she has to be so annoying. This is Charles’s fault. Oh, how I miss Jane.

“Rosa, what's your job as my secretary?”

“Answering phones, ordering office supplies, company meeting minutes, supervising new employees, scheduling, and many more,” she replied, still adjusting her glasses.

“Does that involve returning lost and found?” I asked her with clear annoyance written in my voice.

“No sir”

“Good, now get in there and get me a meeting with Mr. Sebastian.”

"Yes, sir,” she replied as she ran towards the elevator, being all clumsy and all. She tripped and fell. I watched as the files scattered around the floor.

I couldn't help sighing in frustration as I watched her run around, picking files up. I really need to have Charles find me a new secretary, or Rosa will ruin me.

I walked past the lunchbox and entered the elevator, waiting for Rosa to join me, but I just couldn't leave the lunchbox there. I walked out of the elevator and stood besides it as I pondered whether to pick it up or not.

I'm sure she will notice it's gone and come after it. I turned my back to leave, but I just couldn't get the lady's sad expression off my face. I went back and picked up the lunchbox.

“Rosa, can you tell me the direction you saw the lady?”

“She went into a coffee shop down the road,” Rosa replied as she finally managed to pick up the last paper.

“Go set up the meeting with Mr. Sebastian. I will meet in less than fifteen minutes.”

“Yes sir"

“And Rosa, do not trip or have my files flying in the air again. And quit adjusting your glasses every single minute; it's annoying and distracting. Do I make myself clear?”

“Yes sir”

"Good.” I grabbed the lunchbox and went in search of its owner.

When I got to the coffee shop, I took my time to look around for her but couldn't find her. I decided to ask the bartender; hopefully she might have some useful information.

“Sir, what can we offer you?” She asked with a sexy smile on her face as she adjusted her shirt, exposing some parts of her breasts.

This never gets old. I smirked at her, giving her the same stupid smile she gave me.

“I really need to ask you something.”

“Anything for you, handsome,” she said, licking her lips and biting the tips afterwards. I wanted to scream at her and tell her this is not a fucking club.

If I were her boss, then I would have fired her by now.

"Have you seen a lady in a blue dress walk in here? She has blond hair; she is about five metres tall.” Even as I asked my question, she was busy staring at me and drooling.

Okay, this is stupid. I can't believe I came here looking for someone I just met for a brief moment.

“Never mind; I'm sure she is not here,” I said to her. I was about to leave when she grabbed my hand.

“Can I have your number? You are totally my type,” she said. Her voice came out small, but I was able to make out what she said.

“Okay, lean in; I don't want anyone to know about this,” I said to her, and she excitedly did as I asked.

“You should learn how to focus on your work. I can make you lose this job if I file a report against you.” I whispered in her ears.

“And also, button up that shirt; you don't have much to show anyway." I added and saw the shock on her face. I bet she didn't see that coming.

I took the lunchbox and left the shop. I can't believe I left my meeting to return this. I am so keeping this back where I got it from. Maybe she would find her way back to it.

I stood in front of the coffee shop and pondered my next step. Just then, someone blushed past me. I wanted to scream at the person to watch where they were going.

But when I turned, I found the same brown, sad eyes I saw earlier staring at me. I found her.
