Chapter 2 Wish You Happiness
Victoria had signed her name countless times, but never with such heartache. But she told herself that it was okay. From now on, they could each relax.
Alexander stared at her for a long time before calmly saying, "I'm sorry for what happened back then, but Isabella is pregnant. I have to take responsibility."
Victoria's hand holding the pen was a bit unnatural, but she tried to smile, "Hmm, I wish you happiness."
Not long after their marriage, Alexander suddenly had a mistress. It was said that she was his childhood sweetheart, it was said...
She just didn't expect that the woman was really pregnant. That meant, he never considered his wife at home. His heart was always with another woman. She thought, besides wishing him well, what else could she do?
"Or maybe you should mention something you want; I will try to satisfy you." He was silent for a moment, not wanting to wrong her in the matter of divorce.
"I'm already very satisfied." Victoria answered him.
Alexander looked into her gentle and clear eyes for two seconds, then turned to look out the window. It was raining. After looking at the raindrops ruthlessly hitting the glass, he got up and walked towards the window.
Victoria finally dared to breathe after he got up. She even dared to look at his back, perhaps because she finally gave him his freedom. How nice it would have been if there hadn't been that accident two years ago? She signed, he should be very happy, right? But unexpectedly, she felt that Mr. Alexander didn't seem so happy. Why?
"Don't tell the elders about the divorce yet." He finally spoke again.
"Okay." So that was it. While agreeing, Victoria mocked her own infatuation in her heart. What was she still naively fantasizing about?
In order to reject the marriage arranged by the family, Alexander resisted this arrangement by not coming back for two years. Now, the fact that his mistress was pregnant was a slap in her face! He would never worry about her; he was doing well with that mistress.
She lowered her gaze and slowly stood up. "I'll leave the house at the southern part of town to you. It's close to the company, so it will be convenient for you to go to work."
"Okay." Actually, she wanted to refuse. But at this moment, she felt it would be too melodramatic to say even one more word. After all, with Mr. Alexander's wealth, he wouldn't mind giving it to anyone. And this way, by moving away from the Harrington family’s old mansion, she could completely cut ties with the Harrington Family.
Victoria thought silently, now, she accepted all of this. Alexander's tall and straight body turned back, looking straight at her, "Don't you have anything else to say to me?"
Anything else? What should she say? Say that as his wife, she really loved him? Or say could they possibly not divorce if there was a chance? But the divorce papers in front of her were a harsh slap!
Considering Alexander's temper, Victoria looked at him, politely smiled, and softly said, "Thank you."
"Thank me for what?" Alexander's voice became cold.
"Thank you for these two years." Her voice always maintained its calmness; she made herself not show any expression that would upset him. After all, she should be content with being on the same household register with him for these two years.
"I will stay in the city for a while. Tomorrow morning I will propose to the elders that we move out together; I presume they won't object if you cooperate with me." He brought it up again unhurriedly.
"Okay." She lowered her head, her right hand unnaturally gripping her left wrist, somewhat forcefully.
The door was suddenly knocked, Alexander looked outside, then commanded her in an irresistible tone, "Take off your clothes!"
