The beginning
Immyria was turning 16 in one week, her mother was planning her birthday party. We were supposed to be going over details of who would be there, decorations, etc…I was getting ready for the day wearing a deep blue gown that fight nicely but not too tight. I was staring at myself in the mirror, I had nice looking lips since I hit puberty, my eyes had started adding shades of green in my blue iris’s and my hair had grown so long it looked really nice. Even I had to admit that. I also liked that my silver hair was starting to darken a little so it didn’t look white anymore.
“Mother? Can we do a tournament during my party?” I asked her. I have always been one for getting in trouble, when I was younger I would sneak out of the castle and past our royal guard to play with other kids in the street. But I hated loosing games so I got into fights a lot. I want to train in our guard but because I’m a princess I’m not allowed. That doesn’t stop me from trying to train myself by watching them. “Why would you want that at a party?” My mother snapped me out of my thoughts. I responded automatically, “Because I like watching them and it would be entertainment for everyone as well other than just dancing and talking. It would definitely liven things up and make it different.”
She put the brush down that she was using on my hair and looked at me in the mirror, “We have been over this a dozen times already Immyria, you are not allowed to fight period.” She gave me a stern look but I wasn’t about to give up. I had my own plans for wanting the tournament. If I could get my parents to agree to it, I would sneak out of the stands to the courtyard to change into my workout clothes and join myself to show them I’m a fighter, Not a fragile little girl. “I’m not asking to train. I’m asking to just have a tournament during the party to watch for people to remember and have something different for once.” I said in a stern voice back to her.
She looked frustrated at me but let out a sigh and said, “I will talk to your father and see what he says about it, alright?” I perked up and nodded in agreement with her. I had exactly one week to make sure I was the best fighter, and once I showed them they would have to let me train with the guard! There was a knock at the door, “Come in” my mom said.
My younger brother and sister both came in bickering about something but immediately stopped when they walked in the door to my room.
“Immy,” my younger brother Tiberius started, “you are the only person I’ve ever known to have silver hair and the hair has more color than your skin.” He was teasing me because I had the stomach flu yesterday that I was still recovering from. As much as it annoyed me he was right about that. My skin was whiter than normal still. My mother looked at him and told him “Tiberius, just because your father isn’t around and you’re the next in line does not mean you get to make fun of your older sister. Have you finished classes for the day yet?”
He went slightly pale I think at that and got nervous then my mom eyed him and continued “that’s what I thought young man. Get back to it or I’ll tell your dad.” I sent her a silent thank you with my eyes and I knew she saw it. “Guess I’m not the only one getting into trouble anymore Tibs” I let out a chuckle and my mother lightly slapped my shoulder. She doesn’t like my nickname for him. My younger sister Rose, she’s the youngest at 11 while my brother is 13. Tiberius had brown hair with blue eyes and Rose had a really beautiful creamy blonde colored hair with green eyes. “Immy? Can we play in the garden today?” She asked me with her beautiful puppy dog eyes.
I looked at my mother and she let out a sigh but nodded her head and said we would get back to the party details later today. “Alright, what would you like to do in the garden?” I asked Rose. She let out a small squeal and said “I want to play hide and seek and then go swimming!” She was jumping up and down at this point with excitement. Our mom doesn’t like it when we go swimming because she can’t swim.
“Alright, let’s go!” I told her and we ran out of the room.
