Chapter 5: She Has A Son

Chapter 5: She Has A Son

Nathan

"Is anyone here? Please help me!" I screamed at the top of my lungs, hoping that someone would hear me but all I got was silent.

"Please help!" I was crying hysterically while calling for help when I heard a loud explosion.

I looked behind me and there was a car burning as the flames grew higher and higher.

"Noooo, father!" I screamed and ran back to the car.

"Father!" I was screaming and running to reach the car so that I could save my father but no matter how much I ran, I couldn't reach the car.

Suddenly, I collapsed to the ground, only to see my father screaming and asking me to call for help. And after a little while, his painful and agony filled voice stopped and his helpless gaze watched me before whispering.

"Son, I love you."

I woke up immediately with profusely sweat and breathing heavily as if I had run a marathon. I stared at the ceiling, trying to regain my composure. I looked at the time, it was already six o'clock in the morning. I sat up in the bed, massaging my temples and closed my eyes for a few seconds before taking a shower and getting dressed.

I was drinking my coffee when I heard a knock at my hotel room door. I immediately opened the door to find Larry standing there with a file in his hand. I quickly let him in and asked the question I had been trying to ask.

"Did you find her?" I asked impatiently, he took a deep breath before looking at me and then replied.

"Yes, sir." Happiness surged within me.

"But…." He paused, trying to gauge my expression.

"But what?" I had a sudden bad feeling in my gut.

"She is married."

"What did you just say?" I asked, thinking I heard him wrongly.

"She is married, sir." He repeated cautiously.

What? Larry was saying something else as well but I couldn't hear anything. Everything went dead silent around me except a long deep sound in my ear. I felt like the walls were closing on me, I couldn't breathe and it was suffocating. I stood up and stumbled but he caught me, I walked and stumbled again. I needed air, so I went towards the balcony and gasped for air. I put my hand on the railing and take a few deep breaths to calm myself down.

No, she can't be married, it is impossible. She literally can't be married and I refused to believe that.

"Are you okay, sir?" I heard his worried voice ask.

"But, sir, as far as we got the information till now, they didn't register their marriage and they also live separately. So there might be a chance…" He said hurriedly.

"How can you say that when you haven't got facts correct, Larry?" I was angered and a little relieved at the same time. But then, why did he say they are married when there is no proof.

"I am sorry, sir. Our men were out on short notice and they quickly followed them after getting her address to gather as much information as they could because there was little information about Ms. Beckett. So our men just informed us what they found out while following her. And according to them, the man with Ma'am claimed to be her husband." He was in a hasty tone.

I clenched my teeth, hearing someone else claiming to be her husband.

"Who?" I asked icily, controlling the beast inside me.

"It is…" He hesitated again and I glared at him.

"It is Samuel Lake, sir." He replied and I felt like someone punched me in the gut.

No way! I swear, I will kill that bastard. If she thinks that I will just watch him live happily with other men, she is mistaken, my dear wife. I won't let anyone steal you away from me, I did it once and I won't let this happen again. I swear.

"I want every single information about her and what happened to her in the last eight years." I said dangerously.

It is time for us to meet again, my dear wife and when I turned, I noticed Larry was there.

"What is it?" I asked, I knew him well enough to know that he had something more to say.

"Ummm, you need to see this, sir." He cleared his throat and passed me a phone.

It was a picture of Yvonne and that bastard called Samuel. The picture was taken from a little fat from them so you can't see the faces clearly but I could see that they were really happy and she was smiling so beautifully while he had his hand on her shoulder. I felt like I tasted something bitter.

I suddenly furrowed my brows when u noticed something in the picture. She was holding a little boy, I zoomed in on the picture to clearly see the face of but it was buried in her neck. I slid and saw a few more pictures but I couldn't see the child in any, mostly she was carrying him the whole time and I had a weird feeling about it. Is he her child?

I looked at Larry with questioning eyes and he nodded.

"He is her son," he said and my heart dropped.

Has she really moved on? Is she really married? Is she really happy?

'I hope we never meet again.' her voice rang in my ear, I sat down on the chair in the balcony and cupped my head.

"I want to know everything about her, every single detail." I said, looking up at him.

"Yes, sir." He nodded and left.

'What else did you expect, Nathan Kelvin? That she will still hold on to you after you crushed her heart so mercilessly? That she will keep you in her heart even after what you did to her? She had every right to give others a chance.' A voice echoed in my mind.

"But she loves me." I whispered to myself.

'Did she ever confess that she loves you?' the voice mocked me again.

"She never said she loves me but she showed me how much she loved me through her actions." I mumbled to myself again.

I don't even deserve her after what I did to her, I did this to myself. I had a chance with her and yet I blew it up. Now she is happy with someone. She deserves someone that can give her everything I didn't give and she has every right to be happy with him.

"But I can't lose her, she is the only one I have left." I mumbled to myself again.

I cupped my head to stop the voice in my head and sat there. I don't know how long before I heard my phone buzzing.

"Hello?" I picked up the call without looking at the screen.

"You are weird, is everything okay?" My best friends asked and I stayed silent for a while.

"Hey buddy, are you there?" He asked again.

"I found her," I muttered and there was a pause before he spoke again.

"Why don't you sound happy? Shouldn't you be happy?" He asked seriously, I took a deep breath to calm myself.

"She has a child and she might be married, but we are not sure yet." I heard him gasping.

"What do you mean you are not sure?" He asked and I found myself telling him everything.
