Chapter 5

My cell phone started ringing, my hand swiftly took the cell phone that was in my shirt pocket.

Rachel's name was displayed clearly on my cell phone screen. "I'll answer the phone first," I said to my father. I immediately moved a little away from them to receive a call from Rachel.

The phone was pressed to my ear, ready to hear what Rachel had to say.

"What's wrong, Rachel? Hang on at night," I said, starting the conversation.

“Sophia, I have an invitation to a charity dinner for tomorrow night, are you available?” Rachel asked, hearing that I became a little happy.

"Very possible, I'd be happy if there was an invitation like this," I answered, hearing a sigh of relief from Rachel on the other side.

"Tomorrow afternoon, I'll look for dresses that fit the two of us," she said.

I nodded in agreement. "Yes, tomorrow I will pick you up," I answered.

I unilaterally disconnected the phone and walked back towards my father. Dad was waiting for me, who was on the phone with Rachel.

"Rachel invited me to a charity dinner tomorrow night," I told my father.

Dad seemed happy to hear my words. "Wow, great. Come, tomorrow with Rachel.” I nodded.

My hand held my father's hand, my quiet gaze looked at my father. “Dad, I promise I will protect our family, and help take care of the family. Dad, don't worry, okay?” I smiled at Dad, trying to calm him down.

My father smiled, touched by my words. “I don't know how to thank you, Sophia. I will definitely support whatever you do.”

The next day, I picked up Rachel to take her to look for a dress in a boutique that was suitable for both of us

I parked my vehicle after arriving at my destination. Rachel and I entered the boutique.

“Sophia, this looks like it suits you,” Rachel said when she saw a matching dress.

I approached, and I saw Rachel who gave me a dress. I took it quickly, the silver dress in Rachel's hands really looked beautiful.

“This is very beautiful, am I suitable to wear it?” I asked Rachel quickly nodding, she was very sure of what she said.

"You are sure to be very suitable and beautiful, try wearing it immediately!" Rachel pushed me towards the changing area, whether I wanted to or not, I had to come too.

I tried on the dress. "Rachel found a dress too quickly, I haven't seen a beautiful dress yet," I said. When she just entered the boutique, Rachel had already found a dress for herself.

I immediately put it on, I immediately came out of the changing room where Rachel was waiting for me.

Rachel stared at me who was already wearing the dress, Rachel quickly turned around to look at my body.

"Sophia, you are very beautiful, you look good in a dress like this," Rachel praised, making me laugh a little at that.

"Really?" I asked in disbelief, Rachel nodded her head quickly.

"Yes, you are very beautiful," Rachel answered again. “Besides you are beautiful, you are also very smart. I'm so happy to have a friend like you!”

I laughed at Rachel's words. "Never mind, now you change!" I replied, looking at Rachel who hadn't chosen a dress yet.

I helped Rachel choose a dress, and finally, Rachel had a dress.

“This suits me, right?” Rachel asked when she had finished changing clothes.

I nodded happily, the dress really suited Rachel's body. "Very suitable," I answered, making Rachel happy.

After they finished and paid, we immediately left the boutique.

Rachel and I are already in place Banquet. Just got there, and everyone was looking at me and Rachel.

"She's very beautiful, is she a guest here too?" said one of the guests who saw me walking past.

"Yes, she is very beautiful, I want to get to know her."

"Listen, Sophia, lots of men are flirting with you, you really have nothing to lose by coming here," said Rachel. I laughed, hearing Rachel's words.

Rachel nudged me, I immediately looked forward to my future husband coming towards me with a shocked face.

"Why did that man approach you?" Rachel whispered to me, in a slightly curt voice.

I was silent until my husband came to stand right in front of me. However, he did not come alone, with his assistant beside him.

“Why did you come here?” he asked in surprise, he was looking at Rachel. Rachel just smiled a little, and Rachel didn't care about that.

"It's not wrong for me to come here, and no one forbids me from being a guest here," I answered firmly and directly, this made him surprised to see that I wasn't a canary anymore.

"That's not what I meant, but you should have told me first," she said, making me laugh, hearing what her husband said.

"I don't need to tell you, because it's not important," I answered firmly.

“You are different,” the murmur I could hear briefly.

“And what makes me different is yourself. You have to know what you did that made me change," I answered, making him unable to move and answer again.

I immediately looked at my husband's assistant who was holding his hand without fear. I was disgusted to see her, with a little emotion starting to overflow, but I had to be able to act professionally in front of many people at this time.

"You are very brave, brave to show your abilities in public," I said, my eyes fixed on the holding of hands. Even the assistant who was standing next to my husband was also surprised by what I said.

Daniel—my husband immediately flinched when he heard my words, he looked at the hand that his assistant was holding.

"What do you mean?" he asked a little curtly, as if he wasn't happy with what I said.

I crossed my chest. My eyebrows pointed at their joined hands, making him understand what I meant. "Does holding hands with your fiancé mean anything else?" I asked, making Gritte annoyed and disgusted to hear it. "I don't mean anything, but you know, he still has a wife, but you shamelessly want to be his fiancée," I added, making Gritte fall silent again.

"You are not a gentlewoman, that makes me feel disgusted," said Gritte, making me annoyed. I laughed a little at that.

"I'm not the one I used to be, just so you know," I answered. "And there will no longer be a meek Sophia, but only a brave and confident Sophia, remember that," I added in a voice that was no less firm.

My eyes stared intently at Gritte. I'm not at all afraid of the woman in front of me right now, because to me she's nothing compared to me

Gritte was silent when she heard my words, and I was sure that Gritte was thinking about the answer I had in mind.

Likewise with Daniel, he must be surprised by the changes in me.
