Chapter 3

Anthony

I didn't get any sleep. I had maybe two hours of sleep in total. I was having my second cup of coffee when I saw Jace calling.

"Well, you're early. What trouble did you get into?”

“Hey Anth, no trouble at all. I was just making sure you're still coming down and not flaking on me.”

“I said I was, wasn't I?”

“Just making Sure, and besides, I need to make sure your room is ready. What time is your flight?”

“Well, I could take the jet.”

“Rich ass”

“You're rich too, Jace.”

“Yeah, I know. Just Mom had an accident. I was talking to Callie and decided to call you.”

“What happened to her? Is she okay?”

"Yeah, she's fine, I guess. She has a broken foot and some other injuries. She wants to see Callie. Callie said she'd come, but I know she won't. She's said that so many times, and she never turns up.”

“She's still mad at them? It's been what? five years?”

“Six years, and yes, she's still pretty pissed. She dosen't answer their calls or messages.

“Damn, I'll be landing at three.”

“Good enough, I'll see you when you land.”

I ended the call and sat there. Callie never went back home; Jace had told me all about it. She was devoted to her brother, and he loved her. She wouldn't visit that much, I know. I don't think I can handle seeing her now.

Callie

It was noon when I landed in Connecticut. I missed New York already. The minute I walked out, I saw Jace and smiled. I walked over to him. I was still a bit sore from last night.

“Holy shit, you actually came.”

“I said I would, wouldn't I?”

"Yeah, but you always say that, and I always return home from the airport alone.”

“I know. How's she doing?”

“I haven't seen her yet; Dad had called me to let me know.”

"Okay, let's go over there.”

He had all sorts of questions for me, which was normal, so I answered him. When we pulled up to our childhood home,it was still the same.

We walked up the porch steps and into the house, and we were both shocked to find my mother sitting watching TV with a glass of wine in hand. I looked at Jace.

“I thought you said she broke her foot and had other injuries.”

“That's what dad told me, Mom. What's going on here?”

The minute she saw me, she rushed over to me and hugged me. I pulled away from her.

“I'm sorry, sweetie, You look so beautiful. I haven't seen you in years; you're so grown up. I'm sorry, but you wouldn't answer my calls or messages and refused to meet us. This was the only way.”

I started laughing; she was insane.

"You basically kicked me out, cut me off, stopped paying my tuition, and told me that if I pursued my dreams, I would be dead to you. You have never apologized to me for all of the horrible things you have said to me, and you think I will just forgive you. YOU KNOW WHAT I FORGIVE YOU, BUT I CAN NEVER FORGET IT. You said it yourself; your son is dead, and so is your daughter.”

I didn't want to be there anymore. I left her standing there and walked out. Jace was right behind me.

“I'm sorry, Callie. I really didn't know. As you're already here, how about we go back to my place and grab a drink?”

I just nodded. She was unbelievable; she wouldn't apologize and expect me to forget all she did and said to me. When we got to my brother's place, I just went to the room he had for me.  I grabbed a quick shower, headed down to the kitchen, and grabbed a beer.

“You didn't eat lunch? Want something?”

"Na, I'm good; besides, it's almost two in the afternoon.”

“Ahh crap, I forgot I need to be somewhere at three; you'll be okay alone, won't you?”

“Of course I will. I'll drink all your beer and watch TV, so you better get more on your way back.”

“I will, and be careful.”

He kissed the top of my head like he always does and left. I grabbed a pack of chips and headed into the living room.

Anthony

I decided to leave a bit early, so I took the jet. It was close to two thirty when I landed, so I called Jace.

“I'm already here. Where are you?”

“You're a lucky piece of shit; you know that I'm already here .I had the feeling you'd do that, show up early.”

I started laughing. I could always relax around Jace he always knew how to get shit out of me. I walked out and saw him, bracing against his Jeep. I was damn proud of him. He stuck to his guns and dropped out of college and did what he wanted, and he was successful. He had bike shops in ten different states and was doing well too. I knew it would be; that's why I invested in his business and he invested in mine. We had the same height (6'5), same build, and the same black hair. the only difference was that he had black eyes and mine were blue and hazel, which I thought was weird. I walked over to him and grabbed him.

“Good to see you, J boy. How's everything?”

“Better now that you're here.”

“Then let's go. I need beer and food.”

“I have enough at home.”

“I'm still waiting on you to visit me in New York.”

“Soon ”

The drive to his place was like reliving our teenage years; it was always the same. We laughed and joked about normal things. When we pulled into the driveway, his phone started ringing, and he just answered it.

“What is it now, Jimmy?”

“Wait, wasn't he supposed to come on Monday?”

“It's done; he can pick it up.”

“Fuck. Fine, I'll be there.”

He looked at me.

“Asshole was supposed to come Monday for the bikes. Now he's going to be here in an hour and wants me there. Doors open; you know where everything is. Sorry.”

"Hey, it's business; besides, that's my money too.”

I grabbed my bag and got out of the Jeep. He backed out of the driveway, and before he left, he shouted for me.

“Hey Anth!”

“What now, asshole?”

“I forgot Callie's in there. Don't scare her. Watch her until I get back, she's pissed off, so be careful.”.

He started laughing, then drove off. Fuck fuck fuck, fucking hell. She never came here. I can't handle seeing her now. There was no use prolonging it. I might as well get this over with.

I walked up the driveway, opened the door, and dropped my bag. As I walked in, I passed the living room, where the TV was on.

“Jace If that's you, I'll need something stronger than beer to make me forget the shitty day I've had,and I'm serious.

I stood there but didn't say anything. Six years—six fucking years—I haven't seen her.

“Jace had to go to work, Callie.”

She stood up instantly, but kept facing the TV.

“Anth... Anthony?”

“yes ”

"Oh, um,umm excuse me.”

Something seemed familiar: her voice

“Stop right there and turn around.”

“No, and you can't make me.”

“I see you're still a damn brat.”

She spun around and looked at me.

“DON'T YOU EVER CALL ME A BRAT AGAIN?”

What the fuck?

“YOU?”

I was fucking pissed and happy at the same time.

"Anthony, let me explain.”

I folded my arms and stood looking at her, waiting for her to explain.

“I…. Well, the thing is...”

"You, what, Callie? Just one question? Did you know it was me?”

“Yes ”

“Why ?”

“God damnit, Anthony, I've been in love with you since I was fourteen. There I said it. I've always wanted you to be my first, so if you're angry and pissed off, then I'm sorry, but I don't regret it and would do it all over again.”

I walked over to her and did something I knew I shouldn't have done, but I grabbed her, pulled her into me, and kissed her. That feeling was something I always longed to feel. Knowing it was her last night hit me like a ton of fucking bricks. After all these years, she waited for me. I pulled away from her and rested my head on hers.

“I've loved you since I was eighteen. I couldn't have you then. I still can't have you now. Jace is going to kill me.”

“You've been in love with me all this time?”

"Yes, I have.”

“Why didn't you say anything?”

“Say what, Callie, ‘Hey Jace. I'm your best friend who's in love with your fourteen-year-old sister’ I doubt whether he would have appreciated that.”

She pulled away from me.

“Six years, Anthony. You had six years to find me to tell me.”

“Find you and say what Callie?, you had a boyfriend.”

“Because I couldn't have you, dammit.”

“And last night?”

“When you didn't realize it was me, I saw my one chance at getting what I always wanted. I'm sorry, Anthony, but I don't regret it.”

“Why didn't you say something?”

“What was I supposed to say? Hey,  I'm your best friend's sister who's been in love with you forever. I want you to take my virginity. Besides, you were always rude to me.”

“That was the only way to keep my sanity, Callie.”

“Did it work?”.

“No ”

“That's why you stopped coming over, isn't it?”.

“Yes, I love you, Callie. I always have.”

“I love you too, Anthony.”

I pulled her into me and took her mouth. Just thinking about last night made me want her. I lifted her up and walked over to the couch. She was straddling me, and the tiny ass shorts that she had on weren't helping.

“Last night is something I'll cherish for the rest of my life. But I need you now.”

“yes ”

I ripped her top off and kissed my way down her breasts. In one second, her bra was off, and when I took one of her nipples into my mouth, she started moaning.

"Damnit, Callie, do I have to gag you?”

"Please, Anthony, I need you.”
