002

Celine stared at her reflection in the mirror above the sink, her white-blonde hair framing her face. Her crystal blue eyes glistened with unshed tears and she could feel something snapping inside of her.

She had endured enough!

There was no reason for her to remain in a loveless mating with a cheating mate, her pack members hated her, and she had no family left, so why was she still here?

The entire pack would be happy if she disappeared and they made sure to let her know that as often as possible. The only reason Noah hadn’t gotten rid of her yet was because of his parents and the moment he no longer had to report to them, she would be kicked out of his apartment.

Celine had just never thought of leaving, Moonstone Pack was her home but it was quickly turning into a prison, she couldn’t stay any longer. There was no reason to reject her mating with Noah because he never mated her beyond the event they had to announce their mating. So she could just pack her things and leave and she would be a single unmated Omega with the rest of her life in front of her.

So it was with this determination that she made her way into the shower, her decision made. Her composure lasted until the heated water soaked through her hair and dripped down her body, the tears starting slow and burning hotter than the water from the shower overhead.

Celine had been forced to endure so much for thirteen years and she couldn’t complain, nor did she have anyone to rely on. She had retained some hope that her life would get better when she mated Alpha Noah but it just worsened, she was treated like she was lesser than the runt of the pack although she was the Luna. There was no future for her in Moonstone Pack.

She hugged herself as she sobbed although the shower stall was steamed up and she was in no way cold. When she stepped out of the shower after staying inside until the water ran cold, her eyes were red-rimmed and a little puffy from all the crying she did but she was clean and she was determined to take control of her life.

She wrapped a towel around herself and walked to her shared room with Noah, only hesitating slightly at the door before she pushed it open. It was empty, fortunately, but they didn’t even bother to change the sheets, the air heavy with the smell of sex and pheromones.

Celine just ignored it and walked right to the closet, digging through her clothes for an outfit to wear. She usually worse loose dresses that went right past her knees because she flew under the radar more when she did, prioritizing her safety over fashion. But she did own a couple pairs of jeans that she could count how many times she had worn them. She pushed all her dowdy dresses to the side and pulled that out, taking out a top as well.

When she was dressed, she brought out her suitcase and started throwing clothes in it. She didn’t carry any of her floral patterned dresses because she wanted to start a new life, and they were a symbol of the life she lived, which meant that she was done packing rather quickly.

Celine carried a travel bag as well and put her necessities inside, carrying her favorite books. She was like a whirlwind as she packed, hurrying like she was being chased, and it wasn’t because she feared that she wouldn’t go through with her plans or that someone would try to stop her but because of her eagerness to leave.

She brushed out her long hair and left it free, uncaring if it would get pulled on even while she was leaving, it would be the last time so she could endure it.

Celine didn’t have a lot to her name and the only thing that Noah had ever done for her was put a roof over her head and put food on her table, but he was also her Alpha and as a member of his pack, he was responsible to provide that for her just like he did with every other pack member.

She had a job briefly after she completed community college in Moonstone town, but she had to give it up to mate the Alpha, it meant that most of the money she had was what her parents had left to her when they died in a car crash.

It didn’t matter though, she wasn’t scared to work, she would go to the big city and make a living for herself. While she was there, she wouldn’t even be obligated to be a part of any pack, as long as she obeyed the laws, she had as many rights as everyone else.

She was breathless as she wheeled her suitcase out of the apartment, her blue jeans hugging her thighs in a way that felt weird as she was used to wearing loose dresses. She slammed open the door, grateful to find the hallways empty, and promptly left.

Celine knew that everyone was staring at her as she made her way down several flights of stairs, silently struggling with her luggage. A small crowd of her pack members had gathered to watch her leave but none of them said anything.

It surprised her because she expected a handful of insults, or people trying to trip her and make her journey harder but it would seem that they were so happy to see her leave they didn’t even make an effort to try and delay her so she wouldn’t change her mind.

Celine didn’t care what their reasons were, the wheels of her suitcase loud against the wooden floors of the foyer as she walked away from the pack house, she was just relieved that they let her leave peacefully. She ignored the cheers she could hear after she stepped out into the warm afternoon sunshine, lifting her face to the sky - She was free.
