Chapter 9

CHAPTER 9 ********* Kelly’s P.O.V ********** I rushed into my room and took out a bag which I put in some things I'm going to be needing for my journey. When I got back Emerald had already told Mrs. Lydia what was going on and she had packed for me some fruits and breakfast while I embarked on this journey. I came out of the house and waved everyone goodbye as I headed towards the direction of the forest. BE CAREFUL OK!!! Mrs. Lydia yelled amidst tears as she watched leave. I entered into the forest as I went in search of the heart of it. I journeyed till my legs were weak and decided to take a short nap but remembering that Kim’s life depends on this I ignored my sleep and continued my search. Soon it was noon with no progress as I was still looking for the heart of the forest. I searched round and round and followed all the instructions and directions Emerald gave me according to what she saw In her vision. Soon it was nighttime, I was really tired and decided to sleep close to a waterfall and continue My journey in the morning. I laid my head on the hard rock and blacked out. ******* My son, your people await you, you have to go to their rescue, they are all getting weak. It wasn’t meant to be like this. Oh my god, I screamed as I jerked out of the ground. Oh so it was a dream. But who was that lady? And why did she say that I am her son? Which people await me? Why? Why all these dreams and visions can’t someone just be here to interpret all these? I said out of frustration. I quickly snapped out of my thoughts so I could continue my journey. I stood up and looked around me, surprisingly where I was, fits the perfect description emerald gave me in the heart of the forest. It was beautiful, the waterfall fell down into a small river and there were so many flowers, leaves, and many other things I couldn’t describe. I looked around looking for THE HEALER Emerald had told me that it had beautiful pink petals and around it were some white Lily. I searched all over the place for what felt like hours until I found it but collecting it wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be. I got to the supposed place where it was and found wolves sitting around it. What?? No one told me about seeing wolves here? I knew I was told about being a journey of life and death but no one told me that it was going to be a painful death. How am I going to do this? I’m definitely not going to be eaten by wolves. I stood by a tree watching the wolves as their eyes shone from the dark cave and the petals from THE HEALER gave the cave a nice light pink color. Then a creepy thought came to my mind, why am I even doing this? I thought. The person in question has even always been my rival right from when we were kids. Kelly, are you really going to risk your life for someone who you always get into fights with. I could as well go back home and allow her to die right? But I’m not that heartless, am I? I know we do have our differences sometimes but she’s still a vibe and a person that’s fun to be with. I summoned courage and went into the cave with boldness written all over me. The wolves got up as soon as they saw me approaching and started charging towards me. I also charged towards them as I howled at them. My eyes immediately turned red. Immediately they all bowed their heads and made way for me to pass. Uh? This is strange. Here I was thinking that I was about to get into the most brutal and worst fight ever in my life then this? They all bowed before me like I was a king or something and stayed that way until I took THE HEALER and was on my way out. Immediately I came out they all went back to their positions again. That was the strangest thing I had ever witnessed but I kind of felt a little relieved and happy at the same time. Happy because I wasn’t used as their breakfast for the day and relieved because I got what I went there for. Then I remembered that Kim had only today to stay alive so I started rushing back home. On my way, I saw an old lady by a tree whose eyes locked with mine. I looked at her closely prepared to face any other mysterious event but she just stood there and muttered. My son, your people await you, you have to go to their rescue, they are all getting weak. It wasn’t meant to be like this. These words, I’ve heard them before I stood there heads down trying to recall where I’ve heard those words. Yes it was from my dream this morning, but before I could ask her what those words meant she wasn’t there anymore. Isn’t this too many strange events for one day? I thought. I shrugged the thought off and continued my journey home. When I got home everywhere was ghost-quiet like there was no living soul in the house. Scared of what might have happened I ran inside and met everyone in Kim’s room shedding silent tears as I saw Kim lying cold and stiff on the bed. The veins in her legs were all black up to her knee bone. What is happening? I asked I am sorry Kelly, but she couldn't last any longer Mrs. Lydia said What? No no, she can't die. I'm here with THE HEALER. You can't tell me that Emerald was also there too. I’m sorry Kelly but she's gone Emerald said. No no, you can't say that you were the one who sent me on this mission, you can't tell me Did I go through all these in vain? I took out THE HEALER and placed it on her lips. It wasn’t as if I knew what I was doing. I just did it anyway as I sobbed. You can't go now, Kim please you can't leave me now ok. Because I LOVE YOU!!! I screamed What?? Everyone screamed as I looked up and saw Kim raising her head a bit looking at me in shock.
