Chapter:3

Taylor's POV

The first look at the house on the outside would impress anybody but the inside is breathtakingly beautiful. White marble tiles cover the ground and the high ceiling has a huge crystal chandelier hanging from it.

There are people scattered everywhere and they all look elegant and sophisticated. I look down at the dress that I'm wearing and grow self-conscious. This outfit was meant for clubbing, not some upscale party.

"Are you okay?" I hear Keath ask and I nod. "Yeah. You have a beautiful home." I say with a small smile. "Thank you." He says grinning at me with his strikingly white teeth.

We walk further into the house with Keath beside me and Kelsey and Chris behind us. I can hear Kelsey's soft giggles and I can tell that she's in her own little world.

"We're going to go find Dimitri. You guys can make yourselves comfortable and we'll be back in a sec." Chris says and I nod. He pecks Kelsey's lips before they're off.

"It seems serious" I say with a small smirk as I see her blush a little. "I don't know." She says playing with her fingers.

Kelsey is never one to be all shy and blushing. This must really mean something to her for her to act like this.

"Do you want it to be something?" I ask her and she chuckles. "Yeah but then I also don't want it to be anything. I don't want to catch feelings for him because he's like me. A player, a slut." She says with a laugh and I frown.

"Hey, don't call yourself that. You may not make the best choices when it comes to your intimate life but that doesn't make you a slut. You enjoy having sex and there is nothing wrong with that." I tell her and she smiles.

"Thank you." She says and I smile. "Always. But you have to keep the noise down when you bring guys over." I say and she laughs. "I'm sorry."

We sit and talk about random things and it's nice to find out things about her. These are things that I should've known as her roommate but I just cancelled all of it out.

"We're back and we brought drinks." I hear Keath say and I look up. He has two glasses of, most probably, an alcoholic liquid in them.

"Thank you." Kelsey says and takes the drink from Keath and he holds one out to me. I shake my head. "No thank you. I don't drink." I say and he furrows his brows at me.

"Damn. That has to suck." He jokes and I giggle a little. "Totally." I say playfully rolling my eyes.

"Why don't you drink though?" He asks sitting down next to me and I chuckle. "That is a long story. A very long story." I say and he raises his hands up in surrender. "I have no further questions." He says and we stay quiet for a while.

"Does it have to do with you waking up in another city in a pile of your own vomit?" He asks and I laugh loudly and he smiles. "God no. I just do the dumbest shit when I get a drink in me." I explain and he nods in understanding.

"So waking up in another city then. Gotcha." He says and I chuckle. "Where's the bathroom?" I ask and he stands up before holding his hand out to me. I place my hand in his and he pulls me up and guides me to the bathroom.

"Right there. I'll wait right out here." He says and I smile. Walking in I'm greeted with a huge bathroom designed with white and gold materials. "Oh wow." I say.

I use the toilet and flush before washing my hands and applying more lipgloss. I walk out and find Keath still standing there, waiting for me.

"Kelsey and Chris already went to the living room. We're just gonna go there." He says and I nod. We walk with the crowd of people walking to the living room.

We make it and my heart starts pounding at the sight of a broad shouldered, black haired man.

It's him. It's him. It's him.

He is seated on the couch opposite Chris and Kelsey-who are are too deep in flirting with each other to notice anything else.

I try my best to avoid all eye contact with the gorgeous man as I walk past him. Sitting down next to Kelsey, she grabs my hand.

"Are you good?" Kelsey asks from next to me. I look at her with a small smile and nod. "Yeah. I'm good."

"Hey, I have to make a quick announcement. I'll be right back." Keath says and I nod. He kisses my cheek before getting up and walking to the front of the room.

My cheeks flame with a giddy feeling arising in my stomach. Kelsey taps my thigh and gives me the 'OMG' look. I just look away blushing my ass off.

What the fuck was that?!

"Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. I would like to thank you all for coming out tonight to celebrate one of my dearest friends, Dimitri's success in bagging a new deal!" He yells and everybody gets all hyped. Applause from all around the room sounds as Keath smiles.

"So enjoy the night and drink to Dimitri." He says and everybody cheers. He walks off the stage and towards us as everybody goes back to their conversations. "How'd I do?" He asks with a small smile and I laugh.

"Pretty good actually." I tell him and he smiles wide. "You don't talk much do you?" He asks and I shake my head. "No. Not really."

"Well, how do you suggest I get you talking?"

"By pumping me full of alcohol but sadly I'm not drinking." I say with a small smirk and he smirks back. "Ah yes. Very sad indeed."

We continue talking and I feel an intense stare on me. Turning I look around the room only to find a woman staring-no glaring at me. I furrow my brows before turning back to Keath. "There is a woman giving me a death stare behind us. Happen to know her?" I ask with a small nervous laugh and he looks.

His expression turns to one of annoyance with a sigh leaving him. "What is she even doing here?" He asks more to himself before looking at me.

"I'm sorry. I have to go talk to her." He says before getting up and walking towards the woman.

He goes to kiss her lips but she turns her face and I'm shocked. He has a girlfriend. Okay.

Oh, this is so freaking embarrassing.

I turn around and look around for Kelsey but she's nowhere to be seen. Pulling my phone out, I call her.

"Hey." She says and I sigh. "I'm gonna head home." I tell her. "What? Why? Did something happen?" She asks and I shake my head before realizing that she can't see me.

"No. I'm just tired. That's all." I lie and she hums. "Okay. You want me to go with you?" She asks and I tell her no.

"I'm just gonna get a cab home. You stay and enjoy yourself." I say and she hesitates a bit. "Are you sure?"

"Yes, Kels. I'll be fine." I tell her. "Okay. Text me as soon as you're in the cab and when you get home." She says and I smile and get up from the couch.

"I will. See you at home." I say before hanging up and finding my way to the front door. I call a cab as I walk towards the gate and the driver tells me that he'll be here in ten minutes.

I sit on the little bench outside as I wait. My phone lights up and it's a message from the cab driver saying that he's going to take longer than ten minutes. I sigh as the tiredness sets in.

"You okay?" A deep voice asks in the darkness and I jump a little. I hear footsteps walk towards me and I squint my eyes to see better but it's no use. Dimitri's face is made visible by the street light as he walks closer to me and my heart races.

"Uhm. Yeah. I'm fine." I say as I push a few strands of hair out of my face. "Why are you not inside enjoying the party?" He asks and I clear my throat. "Uhm. I'm leaving. Have work in the morning." I tell him and he nods.

"I am heading out as well. Need a ride?" He asks and I freeze up as our eyes meet.

Something about him gives off such an alpha male vibe and I think I love it. His eyes look so sexy and the small smile on his lips makes me want to drop down on my knees and let him have his way with me.

Jesus Taylor. Stop being such a desperate, sex-deprived whore.

Shaking my head, I come back to my senses only to find him staring at me with a raised brow.

"Oh uhm. No thank you. I called a cab." I tell him and he scoffs. "No. It's unsafe." Is all he says before walking past me?

Did he just tell me 'no'?

My phone rings and he stops walking. "Hello." I say.

"I'm outside, Miss." The man says and I get up. "Okay. I'm on my way." I say before hanging up.

"Goodnight, Mr. Marino." I greet and he looks at me before following me. "I'll walk with you." He says and I nod.

The gate opens and the cab is waiting for me. He opens my door for me and shuts it once I'm inside. "I'll see you at work Miss...?" He questions and I gulp.

Of course he doesn't know my name.

"Bennett. Taylor Bennett." I say quickly and he nods. "I'll see you at work, Miss Bennett. Have a good evening." He says sounding so sexy as he speaks posh. "Thank you. You too, sir." I reply and he backs away from the car with his hands in his pockets.

"Ready?" The driver asks and I hum a 'yes'. The car pulls off and I sneak a glance behind me just to see Dimitri still standing there, watching the car drive off.

"A real gentleman ain't he?" The cab driver speaks and I look to the front to see him looking at me through the mirror. "Yes. I believe so." I tell the man and he chuckles.

"We'll be at your destination in 30 minutes, ma'am." He says and I nod.

That leaves 30 minutes for me to finish fan-girling about him before I have to return to reality.
